You play them, you read about them, and you know the makers by heart, but what if you had an opportunity to make and create your own video game.

How would you do it, what type of game would it be, whats the plot and development in the story and characters?

Ive accually got a few ideas. I would like to make a 3d rpg/fighting game off the Bubblegum Crisis universe, adding the fighting style and tactics used in Hybrid Heaven. The story would take place through the original ova, and the Adam Warren "amerimanga". I would use the scematics from the Talisman RPG game "Before and After", which is the guide book to the Bubblegum Crisis pen and paper game.

Ive got another idea, but that one is kinda personal right now. But hey, let those ideas lay out for the forum to see...

Lately I was thinking about how if I made a video game, I'd make one called GENERIC RPG. It'd be the most cliche-ridden RPG game of all time. You don't see very many "parody" video games on the market. Oh, the wackiness that would ensue...

A multiplayer beat em up with branching paths and multiple 'chapters' (sort of like Kirby Superstar) and lots of characters. Crazy bonus stages, vehicles of sorts, and goofy power ups would be great, too.

No one has tried this yet (though Castle Crashers and Guardian Heroes are close), but I'd be there day one for it.

There was one I can think of off the top of my head. I don't recall its name. But it was a PS1 game I think. It was only released in Japan. It was about you, getting a generic RPG, and you go and play through the game with in a game and beat it. Later you get sucked in to the video game, and you find that your character has become king and has gone on a wild rampage killing everything in sight so they he can level up.

You have to stop him and put the spirits of the dead animals he slaughtered to rest and make the towns people happy.

I wish I could remember the name of the game. I think it's subtitle was "Make Love, Not Levels," or something like that.

Anyway, I've always wanted a new Shadowrun game based off of the Shadowrun RPG. I'd make a Shadowrun game based off of the 4th edition rules. God it'd be so awesome! But no...they had to go and make Shadowrun: Everyday Shooter for the 360 and Vista. And then Microsoft now goes and wastes the license. Thanks Microsoft, way to make everything you touch turn to suck.

But the last good Shadowrun game was the Sega Genesis title. And that one was awesome. But there is SO much room for more.

I always wanted a game about Log Sawing Championships, or Sheep Shearing, or maybe Lawn Mower races.

In my wildest dreams, I'd create a Super Smash Brothers RPG that didn't create a new universe of trophy-born characters and actually have it cross the actual worlds of the characters' respective games.

If I did have any ideas for vidja games, I probably wouldn't post about it on forums without copy writing it first.

I would do something like Paper Mario 64. Only it would have like 50 chapters. It would be paper-like. But you would have a house and friends and stuff. Just basically an expanded edition of Paper Mario 64.

That'd...well, that'd be long.

Awesome, but long.

This.

I never post any ideas for anything that I care about on a public message board without first obtaining a copyright or talking to a lawyer. Doing so is the net equivalent of parking your car in the bad part of town with the doors unlocked, the windows open and the keys still in the ignition. Ya just don't do it.

I'm a recent university graduate in Applied Computer Science. One of the biggest reasons for me to get that degree was for the whole possibility of making video games in the future. However, after seeing what the video game industry has evolved into, I'm pretty much disgusted now with the fact of having to make any kind of video game for a bunch of suits who insist on all style and no substance.

To me, the last truly great era of video gaming was the early to mid 90's where companies like NEC, Hudson, Compile, Treasure, Square, Enix, Capcom, and Konami were churning out real video games made with real passion for the medium. If I were to make any kind of video game, I want to make it with the same kind of passion as the boys back in Japan in the early - mid 90's. Nothing flashy, just good old home brew fun.

Should I one day actually get a game made, I'm pretty much planning on distributing it through download or team up with an independent gaming firm that are above the gaming suits and care about good plain fun.

What kind of game will I make? Perhaps a good old school RPG or shmup. I'll have to see. ;)

I'm make a sandbox action/adventure sort of game with a foreign rainforest type setting. It would be like playing Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia without having to move in linear environments. Basically, you'd play as an acrobatic sort of character. How you go about the game would be very open. You'd start in a village. You could choose to legally buy maps or information leading to treasures, or sneak into the kiosks at night and steal them, risking being a fugitive for the rest of the game. You could go about completing each mission in one of several ways. You could take time and build up a small arsenal, because ammunition wouldn't come easy, and blow away enemies with a lot of firepower. Or if your gaming skills were up to task, you could try taking the enemies down with fancy moves and a machete. Or stealthfully evade them by climbing along ledges above their heads. If you encounter a river you can't swim across you could sell some treasures and buy an amphibious vehicle, save some grenades and try to blow up the base of a stone colum on the other side of the river to form a bridge, or risk trying to swing across a series of vines. A path you take earlier could end up being blocked later, forcing your character to create a makeshift camp and survive on what items you can scrap together until you find a way back to the village.

Yeah, it's a game idea I've wanted to see for a while now. I wish Tomb Raider games would head in a more open world sort of environment.

Same here. But I plan on doing something with this idea one day, be it Video Game or not... you'll all hear about it one day. ;)

You know, if someone stole my video game idea, I'd be thankful. It'd mean I have a good idea, and the chances of me going into video game designing are almost zero. Plus, I'd actually get to see my game made. But that's just me.

I myself wouldn't make this, but it's certainly something that I would like to see be developed. I made that coverart, but it's NOT real, and I disclaimed the contents on it too....I was just saying 'cause somebody ealier mentioned something about copywriting.

Weird part is... I am expecting the first two games of that series to be a part of the "Play on Wii" thingy Nintendo dropped at their Press Conference. Maybe replace the GBA functions with DS/DSi, add some 4th gen pokemon, this gen game mechanics, and done, better game than that dreaded Battle Revolution.

I don't really like Battle Revolution either, saying even though I've never played it. There have been rumors of Nintendo developing an RPG type of Pokemon game for Wii, but IF it's true that game prolly won't come out till late 2009, which sounds about right since Platinum for the DS comes out in spring of 2009.

But yeah, I'd like another shadow pokemon type of game for the Wii, since the other games have gotten 3 per "series" like Red/Blue/Yellow, Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald. I kinda noticed that maybe Battle Revolution could be a third game to the Stadium series, seeing as it's a strategy-battle type like the Stadiums. Just a thought...:anime:

I played PBR, trust me it sucked, the only good thing about that game was getting a Surfing Pikachu, a Magmortar, and Electivire.

If I could, I would make a game about one of our local castles with exploring like in Versailles 1685.

I would make a game that's based on my fanfic. Actually, sooner or later I plan on making what the game guide would look like and put it up on DeviantArt.:)
