With the thread for the American Presidential Eelection going rather well I hope mods don't mind if I put one up for the Canadian Elections.

Here are the rules (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=211857) for the American Presidential Election which apply to this thread as well.

Canadian 2008 Election Prime Minister Candidates
-Gilles Duceppe (Bloc Québécois)
-Stephen Harper (Conservative Party of Canada)
-Stephane Dion (Liberal Party of Canada)
-Jack Layton (New Democratic Party of Canada)
-Elizabeth May (Green Party of Canada)

What are your thoughts on the Canadian 2008 Elections so far?

Canadians are going to the voting poll on October 14th - Who are you voting for? Why?

I like Dion, but Layton is fine too.

I don't live in Canada though and I'm a minor so I can't vote.

I'm surprised the Quebecois guy is so popular though.

Canadian political comercials are interesting.

I'm not Canadian, nor do I know who these people are. So, I will abstain.

My particular riding is pretty much a lock-in for the Conservative candidate, since the opposing votes are brutally split. I'll likely be voting Green mainly because, even if they don't get a single seat, gaining 10% of the popular vote will ensure that they get their campaign funding back. That would be a really great step forwad for them. I really can't help but think that the Greens would be doing a lot better if they brought attention to the fact that their fiscal policies are actually a lot more conservative than the NDP's, and possibly even the Liberals'.
