I'm really surprised about My Name is Earl, first I heard about this.

Without a trace considered a possible cancellation when it's the #1 show in its timeslot? hmmm....

Yeah, I'm fearing the worst for Terminator.
But at least Ghost Whisperer (though it's not listed), The Big Bang Theory, and Family Guy are safe. :)

That's too bad about The Unit getting close to the chopping block. My parents love the show and it's apparently really gearing up for serious stuff this year. Hopefully the ratings will improve.
Prison Break shouldn't have even gotten to the point where its cancellation becomes likely. It should have ended after season two. I feel no sympathy for this one.
(Insert obligatory CSI: Miami complaint here.)

My family was loving Nightrider. My Name is Earl? Ugly Betty? Wow. As for Terminator, I think it'll stick around to drum up business for Terminator: Salvation.

As much as I'd love to see CSI: Miami get the ax, E's The Soup just wouldn't be the same without fresh David Caruso material. :D

Interesting, but where is this info from? Ratings can't be disputed, but I'd like to know who grouped them and how much one should trust the information. Earl is not really a top performer, but it has done well enough for NBC to show faith in it in the past.

If NBC can stick with Scrubs (and jerk it around for 7 years like they did with 3rd Rock From the Sun), I think they can do the same for Earl.

Yea Im surprised to see Earl on the cancellation likely category, I always thought it did alright enough to stay around until its ended. The only other ones are Terminator and Prison Break. I still enjoy the show but Prison Break should've ended when there is no more prison thus the title makes no sense( save for season 2 ). Terminator I see ending probably after tonights episode.

I'll have to agree with the people who're saying that Prison Break should've ended.
Never made much sense to me how they could keep going. :/

I know Earl's viewership is bad, but it has to bring in tons of Southern People/Californians! I'd hate if it gets cancelled, espeically if Kevin Smith is unable to get on the show (him guest starting as Silent Bob with Jay would be an awesome episode, consdiering Jason Lee has been in almost every View Askew movie).
Fortunatly, I think Kath and Kim will be cancelled first. I couldn't even make it half way through, and doesn't fit well with the other NBC comedies
None of the cancelled shows are really that suprising. Cold Case and Ugly Betty seem like unlikely shows to cancel, and the bottom list is pointless imo

The show's had a good 15 year run, best to end it now before it turns into The Simpsons where it's just kept going just for the sake of keeping it going.

I thought E.R. should have ended about six seasons ago. Once they killed off Dr. Greene, that was pretty much the signal it should have ended. The subsequent seasons were pretty dull.

Good to hear my new favorite show, Fringe, is safe! As for Sarah Connor- I'm sorry, but that completely lost the luster of it's first season. Now it's just gotten stupid in my opinion.

Fox Network has axed more good shows for no reason, even if the ratings were good, than most networks have ever made.
FX on the other hand knows how to keep their series.

I meant safe as in "So far, so good, they're happy for now."
I am well aware of Fox's bad rep with tv shows... I am a fan of Tru Calling and
Futurama, after all.

I would still really like to know where this came from. The actual link is to an image on a blog. I just read in either Entertainment Weekly or TV Guide in the past couple of days that Worst Week is not doing a good job maintaining the lead-in Two And a Half Men gives it and yet it is listed as "Cancellation Unlikely" on this list. And Boston Legal is in its final season of 13 episodes so of course it is going to end.

The pilot is currently free on iTunes.
Let's just say that this show fit pretty well behind The Biggest Loser when it was suppossed to air, and should air on ABC..

The chart comes from TVbytheNumbers (http://tvbythenumbers.com/) which seems to be a respectable resource. You can find the actual chart and article here (http://tvbythenumbers.com/2008/09/30/boston-legal-til-death-are-most-likely-to-be-cancelled/5382) (which I have replaced in the first post).

I can't count how many hit shows Fox has dealt the death blow just by simply changing their time slots around. (Wanda At Large, the Bernie Mac Show and Malcolm in the Middle most notably.)

Methinks the list is subjective in nature, Pengy. Another product of nerds with little to do but push their agendas under the umbrella of market research. Gives real researchers (i.e. Nielsen) a bad name.;) :p

No kidding...! The series has huge support from ABC, and did very well in it's first year. I'd be really surprised if they didn't stand by this show until at least the 5th season.

Here's the thing - ER isn't a show about any one character. Say what you want about Greene and Carter and Abby...none of them were in every episode. This was series about an Emergency Room, and as such it was able to stay alive for 15 years. I actually only started watching after Greene's death, and found the series extremely enjoyable until the end of the 13th season. The 14th year was a total windless waste of time, with dumbed-down dialogue and Grey's Anatomy-style hijinks. Anyone who saw the 15th season premiere will agree that the series has already gone sour.
Hopefully, some of the guest-spots in the coming weeks (Greene, Ray) will prompt the writers to pull out their A game again.

True enough, I suppose, but still, by the time Greene was killed off, it seemed like the show was already running its course. Season 9 and 10 weren't entirely so bad (not withstanding the ridiculously over-the-top death of Dr. Romano), but by Season 9 I felt it was starting to overstay it's welcome. I just wasn't finding the stories and characters as compelling as they used to be, and I knew something was wrong when a vengeful father stole an Army tank and was rampaging through the city on his way to destroy the E.R. WTF!?
I guess maybe somebody coming into the show late for the first time would think otherwise, but as somebody who had been watching since the series premiere, I thought it was just time to let it go by that point. Eight years was a good run, but after that it just felt like it was on autopilot.

I can't count how many hit shows Fox has dealt the death blow just by simply changing their time slots around. (Wanda At Large, the Bernie Mac Show and Malcolm in the Middle most notably.)To be fair, FOX has been surprisingly lenient these past couple of years. We don't see nearly as many cancellations these days and I hope it stays that way.

I hear yeah Michael24...
Yup. Romano's death was a total shaft. His storyline in the last year and a bit of his stay on the show just got depressing. But for someone like me, who came in when Abby and Carter were the big wigs and Lukka was in the background behaving badly, things were just heating up. Plus...Sam. Who doesn't love Sam?
Seriously, if you missed the season 13 premiere where Abby and Lukka's baby was in danger and Sam was kidnapped...you might just have missed the best episode of the series.
I was a big fan of Prison Break but this 4th season was really stretching things, they should have wrapped it up before even Panama...
It's too bad about The Unit, but I still cant believe it's around for a 4th season, I expected it to be cancelled way back in Season 2.
Terminator is a good show, I'm surprised it is failing so bad.
I haven't watched a single fall tv show this year though, I suppose I cant complain that my favorite shows might be getting canned. Oh well, I prefer to watch them all in one bang not week by week.

I thought I heard Pushing Daiseis was doing good. Chuck didn't get good ratings in the season premaire but I belive I heard Chuck did good in the second episode of season two. I'm glad Fringe at least got a whole season, it should get a second season hopefully :)

The only show on the list that I could be concerned about is American Dad!. The show itself has really improved the last two years and it would be a shame if it was cancelled before it matures. Knight Rider doesn't surprise me in the least. Consumers are smart enough to know when they're watching a commercial and this one had Ford written all over it.
