Well, it has finally come. The show that has been hyped endlessly for over a month now will make its world television debut at 9 PM. Arguably, the most important CN series in a while, CN has been banking a lot on this series becoming a hit. Ads have been running on TNT, TBS, Adult Swim, Sci-Fi Channel and other places. Even though the film that was released in August wasn't a hit(and to be fair, the "movie" was really a TV movie. And considering its budget, it made a profit), CN is hoping the series will be the opposite. Hopefully, the show will bring CN the success it deserves. Here is the synopsis:
While the King of the planetary system Toydaria and Yoda are negotiating a new treaty, Asajj Ventress and the Seperatist Droid Army attack.

My hunch (based on an uneducated guess) is that it will do terrific for the first few episodes (possibly even the season), but it will decline in popularity rather quickly after that. I mean, I'm not really that interested in the show (other than the premiere of it), and I'm an "average Star Wars fan." I just don't think that the storylines will be very strong for the long run. But then again, the action would be where it's at for a series like this, so maybe they could still get away with only a decent storyline+tons of action. It'll be interesting to see how it does, I have high hopes for it during the early episodes, but maybe 5-15 episodes in, there could be a steady decline? Just a hunch I guess.
How does everyone else think it'll do?

Well that's one theory.. Another is that it could actually do better than even George Lucas could have expected.. After all, this is LucasFilms producing this and if Lucas likes what he sees, and CN agrees, well it might be good for more than that 15 episode limit you are suggesting before things decline.. I'm thinking this will definitely go a good 20 episodes in and won't lose it's appeal..It might start losing its' luster at about 30? But 15? I think folks will be tuning in to follow this better than most Saturday serial movies of the 1940's.. After all the serial movie genre was the reason why Batman got such a big push into TV in the 1960's with it's campy style.. And I'm betting that this show will be actually more appealing to not only just "The Average" Star War fans, but will actually make a quantum jump in appeal for the Star Wars Mythos.. call me crazy, but if CN wants to dominate the roost on Friday nights, Then Star Wars is going to have to make Quantum leaps forward here in not only action but also comedy as well. Maybe this show has.. The Right Stuff.
Just my thoughts on this.

From the mid 1990's until 2006 I was a huge Star Wars fan and still am, but I NEVER liked anything other than the movies. I kind of "don't count" the "expanded universe" and do not connect any of it to the movie at all. Same goes with this series.
However, I am looking foward to this series and have been for the past 3 weeks or so. I am planning on veiwing it as it's own thing with no connection to the 2 trilogy's, and I will watch it with an open mind and with open arms.
As far as it's success, I am sure it will do gangbusters at first and after the first few weeks it will fall into a steady viewership. I don't see it starting hot and then dying off totally, I expect it to maintain steady ratings enough for the idiots who run CN to plaster it on tv 50 times a day like they always do.
I am excited for the show in a "this is NOT official Star Wars but it will be cool" kind of way.

Yeah its suppose to be about the rise of the rebellion or so i thought. However, its been so long since that piece of intel.
I am curious as to how they will handle Ahsoka's fate, whether or not they intend to gradually make the episodes darker for this part.
I think it's rather amusing how the battle droids barely even spoke in Phantom Menance, but now they won't shut up.
If this series ends up being simply mindless fighting every episode, its not going to hold my interest for long.

Well I guess if you're going to make a Star Wars show for a kids' Friday night action block, I suppose you need some sort of comedy relief. And I'd rather have these talking drones than a certain someone popping up out of nowhere, that's for sure.

I ♥ the clone troopers. They may be practically indistinguishable, but they’re downright awesome. I know that the Jedi and the Sith are going to steal the show, but I hope the clones have great roles in each episode.

I've pretty much come to loathe Ahsoka (no thanks in part to the movie), but I'm holding out hope that she at least has one Crowning Moment of Awesome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrowningMomentOfAwesome) (to me anyways) at some point. And even if I still hate her halfway through the series...
At least I can take comfort knowing she'll die in the Jedi Purges. :D

Kicks butt, Yoda does.
Impressive visuals, this show has.
Hilarious dialogue, more of this show needs.
Characterization, clone troopers have received. Interesting development this has been.
Watch next episode I will, if keeper this show is.

Well, this is definitely the better of two episodes; no Ahsoka, for one thing (MAN, she's annoying), and we get to hear more of Tom Kane's spectacular Yoda impression. The story's also more compelling, with Yoda passing on some Jedi lessons to the clones, and I always like seeing Yoda's more mischievous side. On the downside, while Nika Futterman isn't bad as Ventress, she's not as straight-up menacing as Grey DeLisle was in Clone Wars. And the battle droids' comedy can get annoying at times, though I thankfully find them amusing most of the time.
So, a good start. But it sure as heck isn't going to beat out Tartakovsky at this point.
Was a good episode and I think if there was more to the action I would've enjoyed it more but all in all it was good

I used to write Star Wars fanfiction a lot. If you write SW fanfiction for an extended period of time, at some point, you're going to need to learn how to write that way.
Information, too much of that was.
Well, I'm pleasantly surprised. The movie was boring, barely tolerable borderline crap (to give you an idea of what I thought of it: when I walked out of the theater, I said to my dad "That thing just dragged on and on. I think they probably could've cut out an hour and it wouldn't have made much difference." To which he replied: "It was only about an hour and half long.")
But this is much better. Normally I can't stand Tom Kane's Yoda voice, but he surpassed my expectations here. They made the clones into actual characters, which was long overdue. The animation was better than the movie. The Toydarian king was given some intelligence, rather than being the brainless stereotype that one-shot leader-type characters often are in animation. The battle droids were fairly funny. There were some cool new armor color schemes for the clones and droids. So, yeah, pretty much everything about this was enjoyable.

I for one enjoyed the show, it was not perfect but a great show for fun and action. Loved the scene with Yoda talking to the clone troopers in the cave. Second show was not as good as the first, but still good. I look foward to next week!

This is a wonderful show. The droids are so funny, I love how Grievous just randomly kills them whenever he wants.
There seems to be a recurring idea about how though all clones are created for the purpose of fighting, they all are still unique and still have life value, which I like, because it makes this series a bit deeper instead of just being a skull bashing laser shooting action show. It has a bit more meaning.
I also love how every episode is it's own adventure. There's barely any connection between episodes, like this one focused completely on Yoda while the other focused on mostly Ahsoka's past. Love it love it love it.

I watched about the first five minutes and I just gave up. the droids are completely annoying and non-threatening, these are supposed to be death-machines of a ruthless empire, not just a bunch of bad comedians. There's no suspense and tension at all when there should be due to Yoda and the troopers getting hunted down. The whole thing is just so horribly forced that it just annoyed me. Well I'm not watching this show, tell me when Grevious is fighting though, I hope he's still the only good thing in all this.

Well after seeing Ambush, I have to say that this was definitely a fun 22 minute romp through the Star Wars universe..
Again, I will use my formula of Plot, Character Design, Dialogue, and Animation..
First off the Plot: Considering this is part of the Star Wars Universe and that we have the first episode using Tom Kane as Yoda, I have to say that the plot itself isn't bland.. I mean can you imagine the fate of an entire planet is based on a batallion of laughable battle droids vs a Jedi Master and 3 clone troopers? I say that for the plot this first episode has the Star Wars feel to it and in fact I have to say that I'm not much of a Star Wars fanboy.. In fact the Plot for this episode was strong.. The Force is strong with this plot yes?
Score for the Plot: B+
Character Design and Dialogue: Again this time the dialogue was solid.. I definitely love Tom Kane's Yoda and in fact seeing Yoda being a mischievious little Jedi with a fun streak in him, makes me want to watch more of this series. Of course the solid selling point was Yoda and the Clone Troopers in the cave.. it actually gave it some meaning..In short, the character design was rock solid grade A material. The dialogue while weak in some parts was enhanced by the droids comedic actions. (Yoda knows how to kick butt and do so in a fun klnd of way, but the droids? Droids with a humor streak = epic win..) So for Character Design a Definite A- and for Dialogue and delivery a Solid A...
Animation: Now this one while done in CGI, isn't really half bad.. In fact it's quite good, and I definitely have to say that watching Yoda tear through half a batallion of Droids is definitely fun to watch.. the Little guy sure knows how to keep action alive.. But the Clone Troopers definitely gave this show a bit of heart. I would say that for what it was the animation was fairly smooth, No real choppiness, and in fact watching Yoda bouncing from rock ledge to rock ledge was fun.. In short, Lucas Animation did a darn good job..
Animation a solid A..
Final Verdict: For a Star Wars TV Show? this one had all the definite likability of it.. It's not like the theatrical release, but for 22 minutes? It's definitely watchable.. Yoda has his moments, and the Clone Troopers give us the action while the droids give us the laughs..Animation for CGI isn't bad, and in the end, the entire episode was fun to watch.
So for Ambush, a Solid A- This could have been higher but still, it's pretty darn good for having a Star Wars feel to it..
Oh and Macattack? Keep writing those Fics... Jedi become you will..

While I did found the Droids voices annoying, I did laugh at their dialogue. As always Yoda is a bad ass. Seeing him in action was awesome. I am surprised the clones got some development in the two episode. Always thought they just canon fodder in the movies here the were interesting. Not bad for a premier episode.

The droids shouldent have personalities they never had personalities itn the original movies. Now that the clones do have personalities the show is cooler. It is awsome how plo koon is actualy main character considering he survived the part were the clones turned on the jedi.

How can anyone not like Yoda? "Unaware of this setback I was." "Accept this challenge I shall." "Strong in the darkside you are, but much to learn you still have. Better to surrender you be." Add to it hat the driods actually have some personality- "Hold it. Stop! I said stop." "He's dead sir. The Jedi over ran us all." "Watch me get thruogh there. Aah! You were right sir. It's too small." This was great way to begin the weekly series. I also enjoyed how the music was actually music from the movies. When Yoda addressed the clones, it was much the same music as when Luke talked with Yoda, and I loved how he just came from behind and ambushed those clonee. The speed was way too much for them to handle. I look forward to watching the second episode later today and seeing this weekly series unfold.
As far as the LIVE ACTION series that was mentioned earlier, it was George Lucas himself that announced both a live action and computer animated series at the same time, so it's not rumor. He said the computer series would start with the Clone Wars and the Live-action would take place inbetween episodes III and IV and would unfold similiar to how Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is. For the most part smaller characters like Mon Mothma and Bail Organa would be used, but he said there was a chance Vader and Palpatine would appear occassionally. He also said then they hoped the computer animated series would debut in 2007 or 2008 while the live action would probably be 2010.

Kind of went like expected. Pretty visuals, Yoda kicking butt, droids yapping foolish chitter-chatter... wait, really on that last part? Meh, don't care for that much. I think the only thing this episode proved to the newcomers and to the clones... is that Yoda really is the best there is. Don't doubt the little green one, that's for sure.
Good, but not great, that's pretty much it.
"Ambush": 3.5/5.

That's really not so impossible. The sarlaac doesn't kill right away, it slowly digests its prey alive over a period of 1000 years. Fett went in with armor and enough weapons to take on an army. He's smart enough to figure something out.

This was a fun intro episode. The plot was kind of shallow, but not "bad". My only real complaint is the droid humor. Waaaay too much of it.
They did a great job of capturing the classic Yoda character. This is the character that I fell in love with in the original trilogy--not the no-nonsense prequel version.
I loved his interaction with the clones. Great character moment. I also loved seeing the Toydarian homeworld. It is clear that this show is being made by people who have a genuine affection for Star Wars. If they can keep this level of quality up, I will watch it every single week.
