Why do you think Scooby and Shaggy eat a lot? Are they abcetic or just growing fast and all of that food like growing boys?

I have a question. How could they eat alot of food but never get fat?

I think that was the original stereotype... Shaggy is the hippy whose type was considered to smoke a lot of pot and thus be very frequently getting the munchies attack.

I'd be interested if in the very early ones if anyone else spoke to Scooby and if the talking dog was another aspect of his, erm, dubious vices ;)

Well, Scooby probably does have worms, and Shaggy may have gotten them after cleaing up after Scooby in the yard and then not washing his hands before he ate.

--hypermetabolism, like Nightflower or myself, in Shaggy's case. Scooby's a dog, and they are greedy by nature--goes back to the days of their ancestors, where they had to eat fast when they made a kill because of predators/fellow wild dogs approaching. Of course a dog can't always keep his food down the first time; but you'd never see Scooby Doo vomit, then reconsuming the food at leisure. "Zoikes! Scoob just, like, hurled in the back of the Mystery Machine!" "Eew! Crack a window, Freddy!" "Okay, Daph."

Well I'll eat like a horse, and have had periods of my life where I have looked like Shaggy... oh, and I'm a terrible coward - however I do not talk to dogs and they do NOT certainly talk back to me.

Something 'mind altering' has entered the frey there....

Yeah, it's due to tapeworms, that or the drugs thing. Whichever.

Not to nitpick, but obesity has to do with being dangerously overweight, which they certainly arent :)
