When you Google your name, how many pages do you have to follow to get to a page that refers to you? Please do not reveal your real name if it isn't already public knowledge here and you don't want it to be. I don't care about mine since my unimaginative username makes it kind of obvious.

It used to take me one or two when I was a reporter and was writing lots of things, but now I'm on page six with one of the stories I wrote a long time ago. I used to be somebody's "Moron of the Week" too because of a review I posted on IMDB for the Super Mario Bros. Movie in which I fixated on how gross all the fungal stuff in it was.

I did find my name used in an amusing way, though, in a book listing. It's funnier to me because I was once a 19-year-old J-school student, although the rest of the book sounds ridiculous.

Single with Benefits Relentless Aaron. St. Martin's Griffin, $14.95 paper (288p) ISBN 978-0-312-35937-9
Nineteen-year-old j-school student Shawn Hopkins learns some hard lessons after his “ride or die chick” rips him off in this raw cautionary tale from street-lit phenom Aaron. Shawn's happy with Venus Hamilton, who keeps one hand in his wallet and the other in his pants, until her best friend, Allison, gets dumped by her man on New Year's Eve. Shawn wants to keep his distance, but soon, Allison's living in their crib while Shawn brings in mo' money (for Venus to spend) from a real estate gig. He impresses his boss and soon is in on a massive deal, but before you can say “bling,” Venus takes off with all his money and possessions, leaving Shawn to discover the joys and hazards of being “single with benefits.” In true Aaron style, the plot flies, the narration is unflinching and there are some hilarious scenes. Aaron doesn't bring anything new to his game with this one, but he plays it like a pro. (Nov.)

I guess this depends on how rare your name is as much as how famous Google thinks you are. I know a woman who has such an unusual Russian name that if you Google her, all of the hits that come up are actually related to her. I've got a relatively common name myself, though. A name that could either be male or female, even, the way it is spelled.

So, how far do you go for an actual reference to you? Do you find yourself sharing a name with someone who amuses you (no need to be specific on the name)?

First page result on Google. A review of Vigilante 8 (N64) I did so long ago, when doing long winded game reviews for free meant something to me.

Oh man, my name is really generic. I'm probably not on there until, like, page 500.

My name is apparently unique to the internet. Besides here and YouTube coming up, there are a few old (like, 2002 old) MacUpdate mini-reviews, a couple of which I'm not exactly proud of.

There's someone's Facebook, a Classmates profile, someone's softball stat, and something about a famous New Zealand DJ:confused: .

The first thing that pops up in a google search of my name is some NASA microchip thing that my mom signed up for and added in all of my family and relatives names.

Only thing that come up that was actually centered around me as a person is a short story I wrote that I recently posted on a friend's message board (http://ge-ek.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=10720) (it's meant to stand on it's own, but it also ties in with the longer stories I'm writing).

Oh, and this... (http://epguides.com/WhateverHappenedtoRobotJones/) (My time on TVTome always comes back to haunt me... ><)

Interesting. I've Googled myself in the past and haven't had much luck, but now the first and third results refer to me personally. The first is my classmates.com page and the third is my Facebook profile.

EDIT: I feel more special now that I tried searching for my name while using the "exact phrase only" option on the search. That basically returns only two results and those are the aforementioned classmates and facebook profiles. The trouble with a standard search is that you can split the four letters of my last name in half and you get a pair of two letter words that are very often found next to each other. All instances of those words show up if I don't search by exact phrase only.

I just googled my name, and I'm on EVERY SINGLE FRIKKEN PAGE. No, I'm not kidding, every single entry is about me, whether it's my Racattack Junction! blog, my old dead Tednut website, etc. I'm awesome. Yeah, my name is THAT unique.

EDIT: Same with Yahoo! :D

I found my Associated Content profile on the bottom of the first page of results. Apparently, someone with my name is also an author of a book called Blown Away: American Women and Guns. There was also a link to a Facebook page that wasn't mine though it was from the same state. Go figure, haha.

There's a chef, a professor of engineering or something, some DJs and an evengelist, but a lot of them might actually be Davids and not true Daves like me. There's one with C. as middle initial just like me oO

I don't have anything to my name like a Facebook page or some such so I doubt I'm anywhere on Google as myself.

If I don't use my last name, I get this guy (http://schoolnet.gov.mt/liceovassalli/mav/MAV%20Zones/Students/Essays/Pope%20John%20Paul%20II.jpg).

Anywho, when I look around with my whole name, I tend to get alot of misc. results on google about random people with my first two names or people with my first or last. Oddly when I look for an exact match, I will get some results about me and one odd family history entry which someone has the same exact name in it. Which I personally find rather creepy...

EDIT: Ugh. Looking through Exact Match with just my first and last name I'm seeing alot of people with it. Kind of creeps me out.

When I used my real name I got a whole bunch of pages on the Musician. There was also a car dealership with my name in it.

As for my Internet Name, just my time spent here on Toon Zone, and other places I frequently visit on the web.

My family name is unique. Any one with it is a relative of mine. So, I find my name on the first page of the 2110 current results. The first link is my LinkIn page (which I should check more often). The next two are my business executive profile (for Toon Radio). Then, it is a genology page for my family. In fact, the only stuff listed that are not related to me are pages relating to my cousins.

I got a guy in Boston, some guy in San Fran (who graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology, I might add), another guy's Facebook, somebody's car (my last name is Montero, figures ), and a slight mention of my blog on like the 600th page.

I guess I'm not very famous

Apparently, not very famous. It took until the bottom of Page 5 to find a reference to the real me. A page at www.starwarsfanworks.com (http://www.starwarsfanworks.com), which hosts a Star Wars audio drama I recorded a few years ago.

Hey, it could be mine. Unquoted, I get a bunchload of results, most of them related to Julian Schnabel (who I have never met) and a Jon Schnabel (also never met) who is currently serving a 375-year sentence for child molestation. Yay! [facepalm]

However, when I put my name in quotes, the first result is my 1up page, which I never use, and also this:

My name is pretty much just sports related. Apparently there is a professional hockey player with my name, and he takes up the first 5 slots. Then I actually come in with baseball statistics and game analysis' from the seasons that I've played. Then it goes to my interviews with newspapers on the mission trips I've gone on. Then it goes to a woodworking contest that I participated in a few years ago. Then it goes to my facebook lol. Fun stuff.:D
