It's certainly not the first time we've seen anime DVDs (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=144608) turn up there, but what turned up isn't anything to sneeze at. The stuff there included the v.1 w/ boxes for IGPX and Galaxy Angel Z amongst other titles, limited edition Scrapped Princess and .hack//sign volumes, season sets for DICE and complete series sets of Kaze no Yojimbo. I think all of it was running about 10 bucks each or less, which is pretty good. I myself picked up Yojimbo, though it was tempting to double dip on IGPX to get another team Satomi shirt.
Anyways, figured you all would want a heads up on it. :D
Side Note: Geneon stuff started turning up like this not too long before they had some troubles - does this worry anyone else?
PS: If anyone finds Angel Links at their local BigLots for 10 bucks, I'll pay that + tax and shipping. Always been curious to see it, never wanted to pay serious money to do so.

I saw the Yojimbo set there for 10 bucks when we went to buy a couch. Been debating whether or not to pick it up, as I have the film it was based on. I saw Steamboy there too, so if you dig around there might be more titles.

I've been seeing Bandai stuff at Big Lots for months. Picked up a mispriced Panda Z set for 3 bucks. also grabbed season 2 of Dice, Kaze no Yojimbo, Argentsoma, the Angel Tales box, and the Galaxy Angel box (already HAVE galaxy angel, just wanted the figures)

Scrapped Princess, you say? Nice. Shame my nearest Big Lots is next to my school.

I'll watch some of it and get back to everyone in this thread (or write a review for the site if it's good enough I blow through the show and think it's worth my 1000 words and 2 or 3 hours of write up time.)
Meanwhile, I did dig around through all the DVDs at that particular Big Lots, and that's all I yielded. I could make a drive up to Lynnwood and check the one up there, but unless I hear in thread about some other boxsets or complete sets of singles turning up (I could go for the second edited IGPX boxset, Angel Links, Avenger, maybe Tide Line Blue singles,) I'm not sure if I want to spend the gas and time to make the trip.

Or maybe they just have that much stock to dispose of.
I figure Namco Bandai is a pretty firm backbone for them to keep dabbling in anime distribution.

Cowboy Bebop....question marrrrrk?
I wish you could search through their inventory... I live near one, but I'm highly doubtful it would have ANY anime whatsoever. It's located in a mall, so it's not really that big anyway.

True, but only as long as it's profitable for them to continue playing. I'll back you on the back stock possibility, though much like with the Geneon thing, it could just be left overs from a chain or retailer that's gone toes up (in the case of Geneon, that retailer was Suncoast, and that bankruptcy hurt almost everyone in the industry.)

They have a lot of leftover Scrapped Princess, so that doesn't suprise me. The other stuff just wasn't big movers. They're cool with the Gurren Laggen money coming in for now. Also, Akira Blu-Ray should sell some good numbers.

It does not worry me. bandai stuff ended up at a few local dolar stores for five bucks a piece a few years ago.

I checked one of the local ones today (Midland, TX) and found a few random BANDAI titles and both seasons of D.I.C.E. in their box set form. If I had nkown that would happen, I would have waited 5 years before buying the two box set seasons from RightStuf. All the others were titles well out-of-date that now havetheir own series collections, so I figure it's just overstock releases, especially since these are all 5 years old plus. If I get the time, I may check out the Odessa one tomorrow, but since it's mostly individual releases that I don't have, I doubt I'd get anything.
