This one's kinda close, only because he's my mom's favorite:

WESTPORT, Conn. - Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as the anti-hero of such films as "Hud," "Cool Hand Luke" and "The Color of Money" — and as an activist, race car driver and popcorn impresario — has died. He was 83.

It's a shame that he passed away. I thought he would be around for Cars 2 but that means that Pixar might have to write out the character because of Newman's passing.
I want to give my condolescences to the Newman family.

Truly, the passing of a man I highly respect because he really did make a difference to many people through his charitable work (US$220 million donated through the profits of the Newman's Own company since 1982).
A often under-appreciated actor and philatropist--he will be seriously missed. :(

It's not a shocker. We've known for a while that he has been ill. It sucks nonetheless. RIP, Mr. Newman.

Another Hollywood legend leaves us. :(
I haven't seen him in as many movies as I probably should have, but I loved The Sting.

His `60s work was the best. Hud, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, etc.

Rest in Peace, Paul Newman. It's a shame that he passed on. I my thoughts are for him and his family at this emotionally hard time.

And man, he had been married to Joanne Woodward for fifty years. What a record for a long and successful marriage. Plus, he was one of the real icons of the cinema too!
Goodbye, Butch Cassidy. We'll miss you.:crying: :(

I saw him in at least two movies when I was younger: Fort Apache, The Bronx, and his cameo in Mel Brooks' Silent Movie. (Wish I'd seen him in The Sting!)
And I heard somewhere that he was quite a car racing enthusiast, as was the late Steve McQueen.
Somewhere in Heaven tonight, Doc Hudson is rubbing elbows with Lightning McQueen's namesake.

Not shocking, but a painful loss nonetheless. RIP.

I heard the news this morning. It's a shame he passed away since he was both a great actor and a great man. RIP Paul Newman.

God, what a loss. A true class act, a wonderful American actor, and Hollywood icon. I couldn't eulogize him as effectively as I should, but let me say that he will indeed be missed and has left us a brilliant legacy that'll live forever. I've definately got to rent a few more of his films now. Rest in peace. You'll sure be missed. I bet Robert Redford's pretty broken up.

My own Personal favorite Newman movie is HOMBRE.
It was the first time I saw him in a film. He played a loner half-breed who must put aside his feelings to help his fellow stagecoach riders.
I also like his Spaghetti Mushroom Sauce. GOOD STUFF!!!
