"Do Not Disturb" is toast. I barely even know what that is, as I successfully managed to avoid all annoying promos this time.

Looks like, so far, the only show with a respectable ratings premiere has been "The Mentalist." But not everything has shown up yet, so we'll see.

I'm so glad NBC's remakes (first Bionic Woman, now Knight Rider) are dying a dog's death. The last thing we need is for television to get into the same remake rut as the movies.

Is that really a suprise?

It was universally hated by critics, and starred washed out actor Jerry O'Connel and non-name nicey nash

I heard Heroes didn't do so hot either.

:sad:The mediocrity of the absurdly overrated Heroes was exposed last season, but it's not yet in danger of cancellation, though its intended spin-off show was, of course, axed when it became obvious that this was not going to be the next big thing. Heroes is in real danger of entering the same sort of nosedive as the utterly comical Prison Break, which is a show whose head is firmly on the block this season.

The almost unimaginably bad Knight Rider surely has at least one leg, or two wheels, in the grave, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles isn't looking too healthy either.

Huh. I thought 'Do Not Disturb' only premiered THIS week. I never watched it, but I'm kind of shocked that we're not really that far into the new season already and already the new shows are dying off.

Syndication's in DESPERATE need of fresh weeknight comedy, and cancelling new scripted comedies out of the gate isn't going to remedy that situation anytime soon.

That was because of the Writer's Strike (I don't really watch Heroes, but I would've liked to see Kevin Smith's proposed ep in the series)

As a member of the Foxwatch group ( We review promos, ads, posters and shows for Fox). This show got bad reviews during the session.... some changes were made....can't say what because i never watched it on tv.

but i called the Cancellation then.......Dollhouse will also be canceled withing 5 episodes , mark my word

As for Heroes it pulled in 10 million views on monday at 9pm

I knew that "Do Not Disturb" was dead after episode two last week. I mean take a empty-brained blonde, a manager who gets busy with one of the members of the security team, add the stereotypical heavy set woman who tries too hard to be like eveyone else at work, a slacker teen, a stereotypical homosexual man who reminds me of the waiter from "Zack and Cody" and add in O'Connor trying to pick up chicks or come up with some dumb plan to increase sales in his hotel ala the woman in birdcage idea from last week and call it a bomber.

What other shows do you guys predict will be off the air before the next year?

As many people want to raise the ratings on "House of Payne", I wish that the series to go away from syndication.....FAST!

I also predict that new series that is supposed to be a remake of an Australian series that's coming on NBC. again how many shows does NBC needs to remake? They have one good remake, The Office, so they don't need any of these potential bombers.

That was because of the Writer's Strike (I don't really watch Heroes, but I would've liked to see Kevin Smith's proposed ep in the series)The strike had nothing to do with it being canned, that was just a face saving excuse. The concern was that people had soured on Heroes, and that over-exposure could only do further damage. Too much Heroes could have meant that both shows would have been casualties this season.

Yeah, but apparently that's pretty weak compared to last year's ratings.

Probably they did use it as a face saving excuse, but I don't think it helped it not get cancelled

I doubt dollhouse will be cancelled in 5 eps, as Joss Wheden fans will whine and moan that Fox air the full season (Always time on Friday)

I liked the heavy set girl but that's about it. Never thought that character would also make me dislike her and that was episode two two weeks ago.

Really? I loved Buffy and Angel and the concept of this show sounded really interesting. Is the show really that bad?

The almost unimaginably bad Knight Rider surely has at least one leg, or two wheels, in the grave, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles isn't looking too healthy either.

As much as I enjoyed the Sarah Connor Chronicles last season, I'm beginning to see why people are bailing on it. The end of the first episode of this season was beyond idiotic. So, your terminator bodyguard goes crazy and tries to kill you, you finally manage to get it's chip out and what do you do? You wipe some dirt off of it and put it back in her and hope she doesn't kill you? And amazingly, at that very moment she reprograms herself to not want to kill you? What? Then in the next episode a new love interest appears for John despite already having given John a love interest during the first season. What happened to his love interest during the first season? No one knows. But, apparently, the writers felt that he needed a love interest with bigger boobs, because the only defining character trait this girl has is huge boobs. Now you'd figure that having a girlfriend with huge boobs would make John happy, but instead he becomes a whiny little female dog and despite robots from the future wanting to kill him, he ditches his bodyguard because he wants to spend time with his new pair of boobs. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what happens to him next. Yeah, a robot from the future tries to kill him.

What love interest? I don't remember one in Season 1 at all.

It's a good show and you're going berserk over really tiny things.

That was because of the Writer's Strike (I don't really watch Heroes, but I would've liked to see Kevin Smith's proposed ep in the series)To be honest, the third season premiere of Heroes last monday was a VERY good. I feel they have found their way back to what made season one of Heroes so good.

Months ago the creator of Heroes actually posted an apology for how slow season two of Heroes was. So they know what they did wrong and they are not making the same mistakes. And finally, Heroes is fleshing out it's rogues gallery of villians and some of them are very cool.

FOX cancelling a show this quickly? Wow, I didn't expect that. Given FOX's treatment of shows like the Lone Gunmen, Harsh Realm and Wonderfalls, I'd expect them to give the show a minimum of 2-3 seasons!

I too haven't really found anything new thats been that great yet. Fringe has certainly been a dissappointment so far. Very excited about Pushing Daisies finally coming back next week though. :)

That's nothing. Apparently, a network in Australia cancelled a show in the middle of the first episode.

Last year Fox cancelled a show after only one episode. Fox didn't even bother to air the rest of the episodes, so only the first aired. I don't remember the name of the show, since I didn't watch it.

People always act like it's only Fox that cancels shows. NBC and ABC have both cancelled shows after one episode. NBC cancelled The Will after one episode and ABC cancelled that show with...damn it...what's that blonde girl's name? The one with curly blonde hair? She had a sitcom on ABC that was cancelled after one episode.

That didn't help Firefly or Serenity. I like Joss and all but his fans are grossly over estimated in size. And fans can only delay the inevitable, remember Jericho?

I liked Buffy (honestly feel it's a bit overrated though).

Really liked Angel (so much better than Buffy).

And absolutely LOVED Firefly and its movie "Serenity" (Joss struck gold with this show, it was easily one of the best shows that was on at that time, and was not given a chance by Fox...who put it on a bad night and aired eps out of order).

So, I have hopes that the pattern continues and Dollhouse will be fantastic too! (I love the leads, and the plot sounds good).

Whedon, for one thing, seems to have learned nothing from Firefly and is working with FOX AGAIN. I don't think that he "doesn't have a clue," I think that he's just idiosyncratic and doesn't care about a mainstream audience, hence his cult status. He's hardly alone in this respect. But then you don't in a million years strike me as a Joss Whedon fan anyway :p. Dushku is the only cast member that I know about, and putting her and Whedon together again is an obviously conscious choice. But between working with FOX again and the already controversial problems with the reshot pilot and reording of episodes (Gee, what other Whedon show does this sound like?), I'm betting its doomed. Whedon's empire all crumbled at once for some reason.

And so I can see a situation Fox wants wants his new show so badly (however big or small, his built-in fanbase does count for something) that they offer him a contract guaranteeing an unprecedented amount of creative freedom.. more than the sci-fi leery old-school networks would consider giving despite of the success of Heroes/Lost... right next to the big bag of money.

Looks like my Prison Break nosedive prediction for Heroes is coming through already. The ratings have dropped badly ever since I called it, and this week was a new all-time low for a new episode, a dismal 5.0/7, which was only good enough for 3rd place in its time slot. It might make the Fall 2008 casualty list after all. :)
