i've been on a Twilight Zone kick lately, watching it on Sci-Fi, as well as on my DVDs from Columbia House. I was curious as to what everyone here considered their favorite episode(s). I myself prefer the original show, but if you have an episode from the '80s show you like, just aknowledge it.

Mine are (in no particular order):

Shadow Play
The Hitch-Hiker
To Serve Man
The Shelter
Nick Of Time
and
The Prime Mover

I know there are more out there, I just haven't got around to them yet. When I come up with more, I'll post them. In the meantime, post yours.

The one when the neighbors all turn on each other, what a classic.

The one where that bus gets stalled at the diner, and one of the people is a Martian, and then it turns out the counterman is also an alien - from Venus.

Also, the one where Darrin from Bewitched is this crummy bank employee who acquires the ability to hear peoples thoughts.

I think the one your talking about it The Shelter.

Fear can bring out the worst in people, as Dr. William Stockton discovers when he locks himself and his family in their basement shelter after news reports of a coming invasion. Although the shelter can support only three people, Stockton's desperate neighbors are determined to enter - by any means possible.

I just watched another good episode off of my DVD collection.

No, that would be The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street. It's my favorite too.

The Eye of the Beholder - the one where these doctors keep doing an operation on this lady to make her normal looking. It ends up that she's a normal looking human and they're all horrific freaks. From our standpoint anyway :p

To Serve Man - the cookbook one.

Time Enough At Last - the one when there's this guy who loves to read but never has the time for it. A nuclear war kills everyone but him, and he finally has time to read, but breaks his glasses.

The Masks - the one where this old man forces his family to wear masks right before he dies and they end up disfiguring their faces

Nightmare at 50000 Feet - the William Shatner one with the gremlin on the plane

I love Twilight Zone! My favorites are...

The Monsters are Due on Maple Street
The Shelter
A Most Unusual Camera ( the one where the burglar and his wife steal a camera that take photos 5 minutes into the future )
The Midnight Sun ( the one where the earth is moving closer to the sun )
The Masks
A Stop At Willoughby ( great ending )
The Self-Improvement of Salvadore Ross ( I'd describe it, but it'd take too long )
Queen of the Nile ( the one with the female movie star who never ages )

I've seen this show counted down on air for years every new years and sometimes fourth of july marathon. And the winner was always, either "It's a Good Life" or "Time Enough At Last, or "Eye of the Beholder". But I'm going another route, I'm going for one's that have left an impression on me for all my life. Ones that make you think about them years after for no apparent reason.

The Hitchhiker- Scurry as all hell, don't watch it alone.

The After Hours- The Mannequin episode, eerie as all hell and makes you think.

The Howling Man- The Devil is held captive?

To Serve Man- "It's a cook book!"

21- Not sure of the title, but its a premonition episode about a plane crash and is stated as based on a story in a book of true stories.

Walking Distance- Yes, you can go home again, with a price.

What You Need- Stephen King even was inspired to write a story like this one.

A Nice Place To Visit- Ever see that GOT MILK? commercial where the guy dies and wakes up with all the cookies he could ever want, but no milk. Guess where they got it from?

Night of the Meek- Believe in Santa Claus.

Little Girl Lost- A little girl slips into another dimension, hmmm.

Persons and Persons Unknown- A weird thought, what if you woke up and no one knew you?

I totally agree with GL2k2 about The Hitch-Hiker. I watch it on DVD every once in a while, and it still gives me the willies. Especially the shot where she is driving away from the gas station at the begining and he walks into the frame.

Another good episode is:

I always liked "Five Characters in Search of an Exit" just for the title and the premise.

Plus, "It's a Good Life," you know. . .the one with the kid and the town and the cornfield. Freaky.

My suggestion to you then is:

A Passage For Trumpet

Very enjoyable, and it makes you think.

Shatner wasn't the only one on there. George Takei was on an ep.

Japanese-American and WW2 Vet look at a sword; their animosities and pent-up guilt finally....

The Devil held hostage is a good one, despite the dated FX.

My favorite is where an old man watches some kids play Kick the Can(a super-dee-duper game back in ancient times), and decides it is the path needed to reverse the aging process.

Eye of the Beholder is a classic for obvious reasons. But the above is my favorite because of the moral of open-mindedness to new ideas.

Sheamon:
Time Enough At Last - the one when there's this guy who loves to read but never has the time for it. A nuclear war kills everyone but him, and he finally has time to read, but breaks his glasses.
Starring Burgess Meredith, the man whose upper lip never moved when he talked. He was in two other eps, but this one was my favorite with TV's Penguin. [insert "wak-wak-wak" SFX]
I'll nominate "Ring-a-Ding Girl", the one with a slick-talking salesman that cheats death, and the one where a dying man builds a robot which, after his death, adopts his cranky mannerisms and drives his ill-tempered daughter, who'd been taking care of her father for the sake of her inheritance, crazy.

I was never good with the titles so I'll just try to break down the plots of my favorites:

-The dummy/ventriloquist one....FREAKED me out!
-The one with the 1800's settler who ends up in the present...Always caused a big deal because it was filmed near one of my hometowns
-
The Eye of the Beholder - the one where these doctors keep doing an operation on this lady to make her normal looking. It ends up that she's a normal looking human and they're all horrific freaks. From our standpoint anyway
(Yeah, I called that one the "Freaky-fish-lookin' doctor" episode)
-NIGHTMARE AT 20,000 FEET:Even though I like the John Lithgow remake better
-MONSTERS/MAPLE STREET:Definetly a classic
-(I think it was called) THE VISITORS:You know, the tiny robot invaders
-
I always liked "Five Characters in Search of an Exit" just for the title and the premise.
(If thats the one with the officer and the clown, then yeah!)
