Yeah, apparently Warren now has the ability to morph between his 'Angel' and 'Archangel' forms at will. My guess is that Marvel felt that Warren needed some sort of offensive power, since as Angel he's just a big flying target. Also, a lot of fans liked Archangel and probably demanded his return to that form.

Say what you will about the guys in charge at Marvel these days. But I do love that EVERY character in the universe has gotten some attention.

Except that Archangel was popular with fans, and that Warren is pretty weak without his Archangel powers. A superhero whose only power is flying is like being a human boasting of your ability to walk and talk.

Think of it like this: this way, Warren's like a Pokemon and his Archangel transformation is the equivalent to a 'Steel Wing' attack.
