Does anyone remember Nickelodeon's saturday night block known as SNICK? IIRC the first lineup was clarissa explains it all, roundhouse, ren and stimpy, and are you afraid of the dark. Later they had shows like pete and pete, the secret world of alex mack, all that, and my brother and me. I forget when the block ended (as i lost interest in nick around 96) but it was pretty cool, despite the fact that the shows on it were rerun during other times of the week.

You forgot to mention Space Cases. That used to be one of the few shows I tried not to miss as a young'un.

When did My Brother and Me air as part of SNICK? I know that MB&M only ran for a single season (1994) on Sunday mornings/afternoons, but I don't remember that show ever being part of the SNICK block. I don't recall Nick ever running MB&M at night.

EDIT: I meant to type 1994, not 2004. Whoops.

pete and pete was the greatest. It still holds up. Unfortunately they haven't released the 3rd season on dvd. It has one of my fav. episodes where younger pete sells the house to this obnoxiously nice family, then older pete has to get it back.

My Brother and Me, 2004? That'd of been cool...

I loved how cool the Snick block was in it's first two iterations. The first one was really dark and atmospheric, and the second featured kids sitting in their houses with electricity flowing throughout the city broadcasting Snick.

Then came Snick House. And it all went downhill from there.

I think the original SNICK line up was:

Ren & Stimpy
Are You Afraid of the Dark
Roundhouse?
All That or Clarissa Explains it All.

Actually, it was
Clarissa Explains It All
Roundhouse
Ren & Stimpy
Are You Afraid of the Dark? All That wouldn't come until later. I know this is accurate because I kept the TV Guide of the week that SNICK premiered.

Ahh the good ol orange couch.

I remember Kenan & Kel & Allen Strange being a part of it.

And to answer a previous question My Brother & Me was never a part of SNICK.

Yes, I believe My Brother and Me aired in the afternoons. At least that's when I recall watching them.

SNICK started going downhill when they dumped the iconic orange couch (in 1999 I believe). If I remember correctly, it was also around this time, they started having special guest hosts like the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys for instance. This all culiminated with Nickelodeon trying to "moderize" and "hip up" the presentation of SNICK by having Nick Cannon host what became the SNICK House. By the early 2000s, SNICK was running out of steam due to lack of imagination (in terms of their shows and their overall presentation) in my estimation. They had those On-Air Dare skits involving the then, current cast of "All That", which was a lame brain attempt to ape off of "Fear Factor" (albeit for kids).

I remember watching SNICK every Saturday night and loving it. They had some great shows like Kenan & Kel, which was one of their funniest shows I've ever watched, classic All That, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Clarissa Explains it All. Those were some good shows and the orange couch was always pretty cool too. It was a shame that the block eventually ended by going so downhill, but channels change and so do their shows. Plus, I don't think the people at Nick really care want the teenagers and young adults think of their lineups.

I also remember watching My Brother and Me in the afternoons. While it wasn't as good as some of Nick's other shows, it was still really enjoyable. I can still remember a few scenes from that series and it did have some great and funny moments.

Yeeeahhh, good stuff. The first SNICK look was so cool. Wish they still had cool blocks like that.

I remember Roundhouse and Ren & Stimpy. Those were the only two SNICK shows I watched. By the way, did any Roundhouse cast members go on to anything bigger?

Please see my sig.

Yes I remember Snick. I taped the Tale of the Silver Sight when it aired as a movie, so I get reminded whenever I watch it. The sad thing is that my tape is at the very end of the block. It's practically Teen Nick.

You...remember Space Cases?

That makes two other human beings I've found out of everyone I've asked, EVER, who remembers Space Cases. Next to All That and Are you Afraid of the Dark, Space Cases was my favorite SNICK show.

Was the Secret World of Alex Mack snick, too? That was another one I used to watch all the time.

You...remember Space Cases?

You betcha. Space Cases was and still is my favorite show on the SNICK lineup. I thought season 2 was kind of hurting in some areas, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the show overall. As much as I like aliens with cool powers, my favorite character was ironically Harlan, the Earth kid. I was even able to overlook the fact that he was played by Walter "Black Ranger" Jones from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

I was never really a fan of Space Cases, but I definitely remember it.

Aww, 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd! I remember that show. Did he ever accomplish all 100 deeds?

Can't recall Space Cases. I have some fond memories of pre-Season 7 All That. Are You Afraid Of The Dark? was great, until the later seasons where it wasn't as creepy. But I'll always consider Kenan & Kel my favorite SNICK show.

Kenan and Kel was, and still is, in my opinion, the greatest live action Nick show of all time.

Yeah, I used to love watching 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd. I don't think that he did accomplish all 100 deeds. I do remember they had an episode where it was revealed that after Eddie became a human again, Justin, the boy who owned him, wouldn't remember him anymore. That was a fun show though.

I remember when Friday night meant TGIF and Saturday night meant SNICK. And I had a huge crush on Alex Mack.

Honestly, the only thing that I remember about 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd was that it wasn't very good. I preferred Space Cases and the pre-Amanda Bynes episodes of All That.

I don't think so. Just the same as how they never found all 13 treasures in PoDW. All the good shows end early. :(
