I'm a fan of the Blackhawks, since living in Chicago, you almost have to be a fan of the hometown team! Besides that, I like the San Jose Sharks.

my team is the flyers. the happening for my team is that they will play 2 pre season games in their former home arena the spectrum before it's demolished. the first game will be against the hurricanes and will be aired on tv in the local area. their second game at the spectrum will have them go against the flyers' ahl affiliate the phantoms. i'm very excited to see both teams in the spectrum for the last time. the biggest thing i'm looking forward to is the new 3rd jersey some teams are doing. the flyers' jersey will be a 70's throwback.
i cant wait for the season to start.

I'm looking forward to the Stars this year, based on how well they did in the playoffs last season. Too bad Stu Barnes retired, but at least he'll be helping behind the bench. Im also looking forward to how badly the Canucks will do, I live here in Van, and its always comical how this city reacts.

The Washington Capitals will once again fail to make the playoffs. There, that's my prediction done for the year. Alexander Ovechkin should have a good year though.

I think the Caps are going to have a great year. If they go far in the playoffs, then look back on this thread!;)

They made it last year by just barely edging out the Carolina Hurricanes to claim their division. I predict that they will go back. After such a dramatic turnaround last season, things will just get better for the Caps.
Go Capitals, go Penguins.

1. NY Rangers
2. Vancouver Canucks
I'm tring to get a group together to catch a Canucks game up in BC. Seeing how the Sonics are doomed to the dust bowl, we need to find an outlet for fall/winter. Any excuse to go to Canada, eh?:D

Who does everyone think is going to the Stanley Cup? I can see the Ottawa Senators and the Minnesota Wild.

Really? I think those would be really outside shots. The Wild lost what little offense they already had, can't win a Cup without at least a goal. And Ottawa has a shallow offensive depth outside the Heatly/Alfredson/Spezza line and not the greatest D in the world, they also have questionable goaltending. The team to beat is Detroit, as they were already a strong team last season, and now they're even better.

The Sabres are decent so far in the preseason, nothing special at the moment, but Buffalo is riding the Bills wave to care at the moment. :D

It would seem my road trip to Vancouver is ppd. Tickets to the Oilers-Canucks game are sold out and prices are steep on the secondary market.
I suppose I'll have to pass the time w/ UW athletics.

My team is the Ottawa Senators. I was born and I live in Ottawa. I am a diehard fan, but I am very frustrated. Do something Ottawa! Gerber is no more use, so trade him. And Fisher is always hurt. I used to like him (still do actually) but I am fed up. My favorite Senator now?

I've always liked hockey, but never really followed it closely. My brother was always the bigger fan. However, this season I've been getting really into it after all these years. Our team is the San Jose Sharks, since we're from the Bay Area. They seem to be on a pretty good roll, being 16-3, and I hope that continues. :) Last night's game in Nashville was pretty good with some great fights! :D

Man Im in the same boat, Dallas has just been awful, although they have been playing better for the last 2 weeks( they dont get blown out anymore ). Its frustrating because on paper they are the same team as before and one of the most talented teams yet they arent showing it. Morrow said something that I thought was ridiculous was when he said the team was still finding its identity, identity? its the same team man? Consistency has been the main problem as when they win they look great. That and Turco is having his annual bad play during part of the season that he always has since becoming the starting goalie.

It's awful for both our teams. We are always listed as favourites for the Cup, then boom! We're out in the first round. Well, I'm off to bed. To those who live where it is also dark out, goodnight all!
