First off, I'd like to say thinks to naraht for the heads up. If he didn't post that it was showing this weekend, I would've slept in missing it.

Comments (spoilers):

Believe it or not, I actually liked it. I was surprised they brought back some of the older designs of the Joker and the Batplane. Bringing those designs back, I question why they redesigned them in the first place? But it seemed to be a good combination of the "old-school" BTAS art with the new.

The music was interesting. It seemed they tried to mesh it into the Static Shock format so that it could blend in. I particularly liked how they introduced the Joker... His laugh was a great intro sequence. I think they could've improved on Batman and Robin's introduction, but it wasn't too shabby.

I haven't watched TNBAS in a while, but, was Tim's voice different?

Overall, I liked this episode. It wasn't over done and they mixed a good portion of Bats and Stats. It was nice how the show seemed very reminiscent of the old and new BTAS.

Acutally I believe the same voice actor is voicing Robin as before. He's just gotten older and his voice has changed some.

Nope they changed voices because the old voice was getting too old to play a teen

It is a new voice actor. Eli Marienthal (Iron Giant) replaced Mathew Valencia.

Why? I like Mathew Valencia. I didn't see "Big Leagues" (it's on too early in the morning for me) so I don't know about this guy, but why did they have to change?

Two reasons: 1) Eli is younger sounding then Mathew, and 2) it's rumored that Mathew also was unavailable for the part.

Justice Liguers is the same thing as Justice League, just a mis-spelling. Justice League airs on Cartoon Network in the US. And as far as I know, Liguers isn't even a word.

i finally saw it too. i actually enjoyed it. it was no tnba episode, but it was fun to watch.

i liked how they kept static like he was an amatur in the presence of batman and robin.

i liked the btas batwing in it. but why do you think they used the movie theme song, the one they use at the begining of btas?? they only used that theme in the actual show a few times. how come they didnt use the animated theme, which ive come to like better when batman is entering a scene (i like both themes, but the animated one is perfect for the animated bat imo).

as far as robins new voice, there were actually times when he sounded exactly like the old voice, it was quiet weird. i liked the new design too and liked how robin and virgil were like all relating and being friends and stuff. it was a nice little touch.

overall it was a nice ep, very enjoyable and interesting to watch bats, robin, and uncle j (hehe) animated by a different team. if you ask me this episode seemed like the static shock creative team's homage to btas/tnba. and it was executed nicely, imo. peace.

Oh I feel stupid. I don't usually post unless I'm pretty sure about my info. I'm sorry.

A waste of Batman and company. This type of debacle taints the entire thing. All the Batman related characters were off, big time. Andrea Romano was voice director so there was no reason for that to happen.

Kinda like how Episode I taints the original Star Wars trilogy.

The first time I watched it. (When it first aired) I was excited to see Batman and Robin in the show. The story plot wasn't all that great, but it's not actually a Batman episode, so you can't expect it to have a Batman type of plot...as far as I know, Bruce Timm had nothing to do with this episode, so it's bound to be different, although Batman wasn't off character at all. That I noticed.

I didn't read into this episode too much. It's best not to take stuff like this so seriously. Taking something extremely serious makes it less enjoyable on any level. I just took this episode as a fluff peice. I wasnt expecting an episode on the level of Over The Edge. Just something fun. A good way to waste 20 minutes.

Very true. It wasn't a magnificent opus with great heaping gobs of drama and such, but the bat team stayed in character and Static had a chance to prove himself. It kept me entertained, so it works for me.

I Directed the episode, and I will tell you that we tried to stay
very faithful to the original series. I will also tell you that it
was NEVER meant to be anything but a fluff piece. A team up
with Static. Also keep in mind that Static is meant for a much
younger audience than Batman. Any real pathos or angst is
best kept for the "real" series. This episode was intended to
be fun and exciting which I think we accomplished. And my main
goal was to keep Batman from becoming a Scooby Doo version,
and I KNOW we accomplished that. The episode holds up very
well, I think, for what it is.

Well, that's a pretty low hurdle to try to clear, but you guys cleared it with lots of room to spare! :D

Those kinds of appearance are always tricky to pull off -- balancing the guest stars with the star of the show, making the interactions not too awkward, figuring out who gets to beat the bad guy and how. I'm not a regular viewer of "Static Shock," so I can't say how it stacked up as a regular episode of that series; and since B&R were doing a guest shot I'm willing to forgive a lot in connection with that. I enjoyed it.

I was very impressed with the handling of the Joker, though. He seemed to fit in perfectly, and Hamill did his usual terrific performance. There were a lot of bits of dialogue given to other characters that I thought had only a ho-hum delivery; but Hamill twirled and spun through his lines like a virtuoso.

Yeah, but if you only knew the other roadblocks that can creep
up in such an episode, you wouldn't say it was such a low hurdle.

Mark was amazing! He really is the Joker!! I think of him as the
Joker before I think of him as Luke Skywalker, and that is saying
something! It was a real pleasure working with him, and he
could've phoned in his effort, but put 150% into his performance.
And Kevin (Batman) and Eli (Robin) were awesome! I don't care
what some say about Eli, his performance was right on, and he
brought alot of subtlety to the role, as limited as it was.

I think the episode was pretty good, probably one of the best "superhero guest star" episode I've seen out of many shows. Many who try this either butcher the guest star, or make the main character stupid/weak/not important. Thankfully, you didn't let any of those happen :D

Some might complain that Batman didn't do a lot, esp. in the sewer fight with Kangor, Talon, and Hotstreak...but keep in mind that he's used to fighting hardened criminals, not slapping around stupid, misguided teens. He isn't brutal. The only time he actually struck one of the Babies was his kicking of Kangor while in midair, and that was strictly self-defense. Which is interesting--his large feet make Kangor unwieldly, so Bat's blow didn't have to be that hard, just enough to knock him off-balance. Once he was on his back and turned turtle, those oversized clod-hoppers became a liability rather than a helpmate.
Also, wouldn't Joker's toxin have to have been very dilute to not kill Ferret, what with his large hypersensitive nose? Murder wasn't Joker's intent, just a warning, at least in that case. Quintessential Joker--seemingly camp and innocent, but fast turning deadly.
