Square-Enix revealed that they would bring over Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 this holiday 08'.

KH:COM is the PS2 3D remake and update of the game that originally came out on the GBA. Released in Japan earlier this year bundled with Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+, KH: COM is finally coming out in the U.S. with a $29.99 price tag.

Too bad though, that we are not seeing a U.S. release of Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+.

Zexion has to be voiced by Liam O'Brien, it's just one of those things that make sense. Eiding as Vexen would be nice as well. I really have no strong opinions on the others.

Coincidently, do you think they are doing this to hype that other game that stars Organization XIII? After all, they were going to have to cast for these characters sooner or later, but getting a chance to sell more games for the holidays was a good reason to do it now.

Interesting that S-E is giving us this game after all this time. Maybe...just maybe, mind you, if we're really good, they might just give us the "Final Mix" versions of both "main" games...

Let's face it, Kingdom Hearts is still in demand here in the U.S. (and not just because of the Disney license, either), and we've got those Nintendo DS, and PSP games coming up, so it kind of makes sense.

Of course all of this is just speculation, mind you, but I'm nonetheless hoping that if this game sells well enough, then S-E will consider U.S. versions of the two "Final Mix" games (they could just use the same localizations from before, with the addition of new ones for the Final Mix exclusive parts).

I think Jason Marsden would be good for Zexion ....I'm sorta surprised he hasn't voiced anyone in the series yet....he used to do alot of Disney voiceover work (Goofy's son Max as a teenager,Haku in the Spirited Away dub,and adult Kovu in The Lion King 2,for example)....
...or Liam O'Brien could work (I think I remember hearing that the Japanese VA for Zexion also voices Naruto's Gaara,whom O'Brien voices in English)...

Of the two parts that made up the Final Mix+ package, one was a brand new game and the other a remastered version of a two year old game.

How in the world is it meaningless? It's chain of memories in 3d that sounds great to me. Final mix+ is just Kingdom hearts 2 with some extra cutscenes, a new drive form, a few new keyblades and extra bosses which are mostly from chain of memories.

Really the only thing I would love to do in final mix+ is fight Terra and beat him =D.

Personally,out of the three special editions (Kingdom Hearts Final Mix,Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix,Re:Chain of Memories),the only one that I'd really want to be fully translated into English is Re:Com (the other two games have Japanese menus and subtitles,but English voice acting....Re: Com has Japanese menus,subtitles and voice acting)....I enjoyed that game the most (the "card" battle system is fun,and easy to learn),and plus,it's always kinda bothered me that most of the Organization XIII members introduced in this game don't have English voice actors due to the fact the original Chain of Memories was on Gameboy Advance (The one exception is Axel,who went on to appear in KH2)...
I happen to like Organization XIII,though I wouldn't consider myself a fangirl (For one thing,I have developed an extreme dislike of Yaoi,mostly due to people insisting it's in this series....IT'S NOT!!!!!)

Personally,I'm just glad we're getting the game at all....

As far as I remember,the only additional data you get from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix is the "enemy cards" for the Organization XIII members who only appear in KH2 (you get them after beating them in the secret area of Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden in KH2 Final Mix,and then going to a "Key To Rewards" room in Re:Com)....unfortunately,I haven't managed this myself (those fights are pretty hard,even at level 99).....It's a longshot,but maybe they'll make it so the bonus cards unlock automatically after beating the game,or make it compatible with the US version of KH2 (if you have a game save of KH2 on your memory card,you get the bonus content)....
There's also a "Theater Mode" where you can view the cutscenes,but you unlock that after beating Sora's part of the game,it has nothing to do with KH2 Final Mix (I didn't even start KH2 Final Mix until after I beat Re:COM,and I still had Theater Mode)....

Yep Riku's story mode is in the game as well and is unlocked the same exact way as the gba version.

Haley Joel Osment is back? This will be interesting. HJO might get the Zach Eisen (Aang) treatment. Zach's voice got old in season 3, but they pitched up his recording to make it sound the same. They'll either do that, or Haley can make Sora sound like he's going through puberty.

I think they only mentioned a few of them and announce them later. It'd be a miracle for Christopher Lee and Billy Zane to come back. Brittney Snow probably came back but chose not to say anything.

Tony Anselmo (Donald),Bill Farmer (Goofy),and Wayne Allwine (Mickey)....and most likely Axel (Quinton Flynn) and Namine (Brittany Snow)....DiZ (Christopher Lee) is a maybe (though he doesn't play a huge part in the game,so it wouldn't be that big a deal if he were replaced IMO),and yeah,I think it's more likely Ansem will be voiced by Richard Epcar than Billy Zane (again,not a big deal to me....while I did prefer Zane's performance in the original KH,I thought Epcar did just fine)....

If you remember Season 1 of Digimon where I played Piedmon, I guess it's closest to that but without the english accent.

The Square-Enix Members Site has updated with the official rating of Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories. Re:CoM has been rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence by the ESRB. The GBA version of Chain of Memories was previously rated E for Fantasy Violence and Mild Language. Could this mean that Re:CoM has seen some editing to tone down the language that was present in CoM? Only time will tell and we can assure you that we'll keep you updated as news rolls in.

Hearing outright swears from Kingdom Hearts characters, while Cid is forced to quit smoking and talk clean, seems biased and unnatural.

Disney should keep it since they used the word 'Hell" more than one occasion before. I don't know why they can let some profanites fly in films like Bridge to Terabithia and the constant "Oh My Gods" from The Parent Trap (1999) but when it comes to video games they had to pretend the words don't exist in the real world.

Axel blows Vexen up. Riku Replica gives Zexion the chokehold. Lexaeus gets dash slashed. Larxene and Marluxia stay the same...sort of.

Riku's ending suffered the same fate. And I didn't care much for Riku's mode (too damn easy, made worse in RE:COM!) but that ending was great with the music attached. :sad:

One disappointment in the game is that they didn't include the music in Sora's ending. It was completely silent, and made it very soulless.

They went to all the trouble to add the voices. I wanted a complete ending, not a trade-off.

One of the Sailor Moon dub VAs is in this? :D (Darien/Tuxedo Mask always had an awesome voice no matter who did it...Vincent Corazza's the VA who also voiced "Alan" in the "Doom Tree" arc,I think... should be awesome to hear him as Zexion)....but DiZ is recast :crying: ....not that I dislike Corey Burton,I just like consistancy (and I thought it was confirmed that Christopher Lee was returning)....and,Kairi gets a recast,too,but she doesn't really play a major part in the game (I imagine her VA's probably busy with that Heroes show)...

....and I don't recognize the VAs for Lexaeus,Larxene or Marluxia...

I don't have the English version of the game yet(I do have the Japanese version since I own KH2 Final Mix +),but will probably get it tomorrow....

Keith Ferguson has an awesome voice for Marluxia. Not as quite as good as his Japanese voice but still an awesome voice overall. Now I really want to hear how Larxene will sound like. And Zexion! Will he sound like Tuxedo Mask or not? :p

And one thing that makes me excited is that they're including the Reaction commands, new sleights, and other stuff that wasn't included in the GBA version, so my PS2 will certainly be happy this year. And it's a nice installment to enjoy before KH3.

AGREED! :cool: I always knew Derek Stephen Prince would do it (Piedmon without the accent is pretty much how I always thought Vexen would sound), but man, I didn't think the "It's way better than fast food...it's Wendy's!" girl would be such a badass Larxene, but she is! And doing an awesome job!

And Quinton Flynn is awesome as Axel; he appopriately sounds much more dark and sinister here.

I got my game today.....Marluxia's voice is awesome,and though it does seem a bit odd for the "young" Sora to have his KH2 voice(apparently,he went through puberty after the end of the original game :p ),it's not bad...
....I think there's something wrong with my game,though...I'm stuck in the tutorial with no way out....I've done all the instructions (left analog: move,right analog:change camera angle,R3: position camera behind Sora's head),but nothing happens.....am I just missing something,or is the game broken?....(the Japanese tutorial was really easy/fast,and I can't even read the language)....

I have now heard Lexaeus and Zexion's voices on Youtube. Lexaeus' voice is a perfect match for him. But Zexion's leaves something to be desired. People like Yuri Lowenthal, Johnny Yong Basch, and especially Liam O Brien probably could've done it better.
