View Full Version : Edit in "Drip Along Daffy."

Here's something, I've been wondering about. In "Drip Along Daffy," when Daffy vows to clean up the one-horse town, Porky says at the end, "L-lucky for him it is a one horse town." However on CN, this line is edited. I'm thinking it's possible that it was just an edit for time, but then I've heard the network has shown an un-cut version of the ten-minute "Horton Hatches the Egg." Maybe it's possible that they made that edit on "Drip Along Daffy" because they thought a reference to horse manure was inappropriate for young children. What do the rest of you think?

I think the edit was just a careless error that nobody bothered to fix.

I think that was probably Time Warner's intention, but it easily could have been restored.
Yes, CN never bothered might be right.

I really hope that someone - anyone - at the network fixes this unbelievable edit; the stupidest LT edit in the history of the world.

I kind of agree with you, Lone Starr. I mean I can see why they would edit a character comitting suicide or Tweety saying, "Da** Yankee cat." But editing out the line about horse crap was kind of dumb.

Oh well now, I wouldn't say that.....
As dumb as this edit is, it's not quite as bad as the "turkey farming" line edit in "The Hasty Hare." While, in some twisted dimension that is not our own, I can see somebody maybe getting upset about the oh-so-subtle reference to horse crap (but it's highly doubtful as CN's "Cartoon Cartoons" are filled with not-subtle-in-the-least references to crap, vomit, and other excrements). But I can't really see the local turkey farmers union getting up in arms about "Hasty Hare."

In addition to "Hasty Hare" and "Drip-Along Daffy", I would also like to add an honorable mention for the title of "stupidest LT edit in the history of the world"... the removal of Bugs saying "Well, as the Romans say, e pluribus uranium," at the end of "Roman Legion-Hare".
I would have also mentioned "Hare Splitter" ("What a man!" "What a Woman!")... but CN has actually had the sense to restore that one (believe it or not!).

Woah! I didn't know that! Why wasn't I informed?! Anyway. Add Frigid Hare to the list. Bugs's line about not going to work until 1953, is pretty stupid.
P.S. The reason Bugs's closing line from Roman-Legion Hare is cut is because it was mistakenly taken as an insult toward America's motto: "E Purplus Enium".

The turkey famer edit has to be the stupidest edit ever. There's no reason I can think of for why it was cut, there's no way it could be taken offensively in any way.

Jon's old censored cartoons page said "CN must've feared that after scientists see this cartoon, they will immediately quit their jobs". :p
