Yeah, it did. It only had one season. It's remaining episodes were shown on Nicktoons Network.

Yep, it was canceled. Quite a shame really since it was a fun show and it would have been nice to see it get at least a second season.

Another reason why I wish that I could get Nicktoons Network. I would probably watch it more than I currently watch Nick.

Again, no need for an apostrophe on the word "its."

You don't have to keep commenting on people's grammar. It brings nothing to the conversation and is also pretty rude, to boot.

BTW, Nicktoons is premiering two new eps of El Tigre tomorrow afternoon, 9/13 at 2 p.m. If you have the channel (I do) and are a fan of the show (I'm not), you'll want to tune in...

I made this post before the one in the Random! Cartoons topic. And the "!" is part of the title.

I never said anything about the exclamation point.
And sorry about that, it's just been bothering me.

I know, I was just worried that you might "nitpick" about an exclamation point being in the middle of a sentence if I didn't point out the fact it was part of the title.

El Tigre was canceled because it didn't bring in Spongebob level ratings. I never saw it because it looked way too much like Mucha Lucha.

The character design was probably similar because the creators actually worked as the character designers on Mucha Lucha.

The artwork did have similar traits to Mucha Lucha since the creator worked on that show, but I thought that it was much, much better than the artwork for that show. The voices also didn't annoy me anywhere near as the voices for Mucha Lucha either.

Had the same feeling but if you watch an episode you'll see that it's very different, the art style is wayyyy better than ML, the stories and the characters are hilarious and you like all of them and with the characters of Mucha Lucha... they just annoy you as hell.

Mercifully, yes. It's cancelled.
I liked the premise a little bit, but the art style was just mesed up. It was like Mucha Lucha, only more suckish.

...What relationship? They were only best friends, nothing more. I thought they would have developed into "more-than-friends" too, but I realized at a point in the series that the creators simply didn't want that. Too much of a cliche anyway.

Um, how do you know what the creators really wanted? Did you work for them? I doubt it. And I really hate it when people talk as though they actually work on a show, even when they don't. And that's just your opinion that it was Cliche..it doesn't make you right.

True, but on the same coin, one could ask you what makes you so certain that the creators did intend for Manny and Frieda to become a couple. You didn't work on the show either, so you're no more an authority on the subject than Ted or me or anyone else. Ted was just stating his opinion, like you were, so there's no reason to snap at him for it. Not trying to be mean here, merely realistic. There's no point whatsoever in arguing about opinions that can't be proven factually. Unless we hear something official from someone who actually worked on the show, it's all 100% speculation on both sides.

**SIGH** Okay, I am really sorry, but I am going to put both of you on my Ignore list..I just can't take people wording their posts as if they are know-it-alls and think they know everything about any show, as if they are trying to fight with me. People just are not nice anymore. Well, the world is not going to get any better, that's what the Bible says, so I'm sorry, I am going to put both of you on ignore. It's the only way to save my sanity.

 Please, don't exaggerate on something pointless like that, i don't know why you bring all that stuff you mention, it's silly.
So move along people and discuss more on the real topic.

Whoa, I was just saying that Manny and Frieda were more like best friends than a developing couple. Maybe I just shouldn't comment on these types of things anymore.

Cat, I'm sorry if I offended you. That was certainly not my intent. I just seem to have that effect on some people.
FTR, I wasn't fighting with anyone. I merely pointed out there since El Tigre is now over that there's no real way of knowing what the creators had in mind for the show. Unless we hear something officially from one or more of the creative staff, all that anyone can do is speculate.
I don't know what discussing a kids' cartoon show has to do with the state of the world an all that stuff, but do what you have to do.

I agree with you. I don't want to offend anyone either, but it seemed like Manny and Frieda were more like best friends than becoming couple like it other past shows. Maybe if they were older, like somewhere around high school instead of middle school, I could see that more as a possibility. Most of the friends becoming couples thing in shows work out better in high school than in other grades, with the except of Ned's Declassified since the relationship there had more of a focus during the last season or two.
