Does anyone like the direction the strip took when MacNelley stopped writing it?

I didn't like Shoe when MacNelly was writing it; it was boring and depressing. And now that it's lost its Pulitzer-winning author, which was its main selling point back in the day, there's no point to it.

Outside of Skyler wearing more "contemporary" clothing , i dont see any real change in the strip.
