Though this topic has come up about a hundred times on almost every anime board I'm going to give the same hypothetical answer I give... i'm sure people give the same one too. =p

Don't rule out Trigun making it on to ASA. Trigun is good and has the right attitude to make it on ASA and it probably wouldn't have too much editing to it like they did for Cowboy Bebop. With filler spots like Outlaw Star and Tenchi in ASA I wouldn't be surprised to see something like Trigun on ASA in the near future. CN likes to keep things under wraps so that the compition doesn't get the drop on them(points to the Escaflowne fiasco).

Personally, I'd love to see stuff like Trigun making it on the line up(knocking OLS and TM back to Toonami where they belong) and show us a true action block for us older kids. =)

I think that trigun is just on the edge. although it has too many realistic guns for toonami, (which is why they turned it down earler) I think that it would be perfect for ASA.

I would love to see Trigun on ASA. However, although probably unreliable, I remember hearing SOMEWHERE, don't remember where, that Trigun will never make it to Cartoon Network. Let us hope this isn't true.

They know the fans want Trigun. They have known for awhile. Remember these guys are anime fans too.

Give it time. I am sure Trigun will make it to ASA.

I'll eat my sock if Trigun never comes to Adult Swim. The idea has been so talked about and brought up that the AS guys have to be aware of it now. It seems like one of THE most logical AS candidates...certainly moreso than anything on ASA right now.

Trigun will come and your sock will be safe from digestion.

You need to stop with the fanboy tears though.

Many shows on ASA are filler, so they could get the block up & running.

YYH & Bebop are the only true AS shows on ASA. The rest were Toonami shows that were used to fill 2 hours.

It's gonna take time, so just wait a little until WS can get some new shows.

I gotta disagree about YYH. Don't get me wrong, I love this show. It's my second favorite behind Bebop. But it seems this show was developed for Japanese 8-12 year olds. I know many won't agree. I'm not saying it's made for 8-12 year olds here but it seems like in Japan, this is the kind of thing that would be targetted towards that demographic. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I don't understand their culture well enough, but that's the impression I got.

Again, I love the show, I'm just saying.

Again, I love the show, I'm just saying. Sealab 2021. Space Ghost Coast to Coast. The Brak Show. Aqua Teen Hunger Force. None of those are what you would consider 'adult'. Yet, they fit perfectly on Adult Swim.

Yeah I feel that way too. The shows aren't really "Adult", but you know what, I don't care. I like them. I like the block. I think everyone freaks out too much on the technicalities of the name Adult Swim.

Maybe my post was misinterpretted. I certainly didn't mean to start up the discussion about what belongs on adult swim, or what really makes a show "adult." I think we've all had enough of that.

I was just responding to SSJ_Gogeta's comment that "YYH & Bebop are the only true AS shows on ASA." I was just saying that it was odd that one of the only "true AS shows" may have been intended for kids who live in a country with different content standards.

YYH was made for Japanese children. That is why it was so popular. Here it fits a teen mold. I just wish Funi wouldn't cut the things to make it fit the 6-11 year old US demographic.

I love AS. Both blocks. I just hate it when people cry over what content should be on the block.

We of course need gore, blood, and sex, but if that was all a "mature" show was made of then why not just make a animated show based on "Faces of Death", or just show hentai for 3 hours. TV-PG is fine with me, but I wish Funi would leave YYH alone, as it seems like a show that could run uncut or with minor edits.

I remember reading somewhere that WS had the opportunity to get ahold of Trigun and turned it down (maybe someone here can definitely confirm or deny this). So from that bit of evidence, it seems Trigun won't ever be on CN. Too bad, I love that show, its really cool. The moth in my wallet had better start paying rent, I need the cash for dvds. :(

Pioneer approached CN with Trigun for Toonami a year or two back.
In the post-Columbine SoccerMom world, CN turned it down...for TOONAMI.
Adult Swim is a completely different beast.

Ah ok, that's good news then. Has CN taken any steps to acquire trigun or will that be kept a nice little secret(whether it is or not)?

It'll be a secret until AOL/TW announces its new acquisitions for CN.
