If I wanted to make a TV channel that shows uncut anime all day how would I go about doing it?

Also- Would you watch it?

I would assume that making a petition and trying to contact certain companies or tv stations to get a channel like that. Would I watch it? Absolutely. As long as they didn't show bad, lame, Anime, though I guess that depends on the person. But most people can agree or certain anime that just really bites. Also, I probably wouldn't watch it much if it had really bad dubbing. I'd rather watch an anime in raw japanese then have to sit through a botched up dub version.

I think that Cartoon Network should let Toonami split apart from its parent channel and become its own channel. Imagine the possibilities!!! :D Also, petitioning for that would be a LOT easier than trying to start your own channel from scratch. If a petition starts going around to make Toonami its own channel, I'm going to sign it, without a doubt!

Here's my Dream Tooami Lineup:
------------------------------------------
Batman: The Animated Series
The Batman/Superman Adventures
Justice League
Batman Beyond
------------------------------------------
Transformers (1984-1987)
G.I. Joe (1982-1987)
Thundercats
Centurions
He-Man: Masters of the Universe
She-Ra: Princess of Power
------------------------------------------
Dragonball
Dragonball Z
------------------------------------------
Mobile Suit Gundam
Gundam Wing
08th MS Team
------------------------------------------
The X-Men
X-Men: Evolution
Spider-Man
------------------------------------------
Beast Wars
Beast Machines
Reboot
War Planets
------------------------------------------
Robotech
Tenchi Muyo!
The Big 'O'
Outlaw Star
Cowboy Bebop
Sailor Moon
-----------------------------------------
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast
The Brak Show
Bird Man: Attorney at Law
-----------------------------------------
Samauri Jack
Star Trek: The Animated Series

...and, of course, ALL the movies that go with these TV shows.

And I'm just warming up! If a Toonami channel existed, especially with THIS lineup, I could just turn my TV to Toonami and I'd never have to change the channel! :D

What does everyone else think? Let's start a petition to create the Toonami Channel! (I'm getting giddy just thinking about this!)

P.S. -- Are there any TV shows I forgot that should be on the list? (I'm sure there are.)

I think a more appropraite question would be wouldn't wath it, big problems though...

1)It probably wont happen
2)If it did most people probably wouldn't get it

That's what they used to say about the Cartoon Network too. :D Now the Cartoon Network is a hugely successful channel! And Boomerang is quickly becoming popular too. I think a Toonami Channel would be hugely successful in the U.S. and Canada. :)

I don't see why all people on the net want (Ebay, video trading boards, etc) are action cartoons. Yet, CN gives us all this boring light stuff.

first, you would need a lot money. second, don't mind losing money anime fans are a few and far between. also, you are not going to get advertising dollars because you would get high enough ratings to warrant companies shelling money to buy advertising time.

Not all anime fans want action shows. Actually, most of the die-hard ani-freaks I know tend to fixate on romantic-comedies.

And a 24hour anime channel would probably be impossible anytime in the near future due to the extremely small audience. Especially uncut stuff that couldn't be marketed to the kiddies.

First of all you need MONEY. Secondly you will probably have to get a premium cable or satellite channel, because advertisers, like fans, will be as another person said "few and far between". Also, other than raising the money, you will have to get the rights to the animes themselves, the really popular ones that will get you ratings will be snatched up by corporations with more money and power than you can deal with.

Would I watch an all anime channel? Of course I would, but it will never happen, so I'll stick with cartoon network and stars action channel. If I desperately want to watch a title, I'll save up and get the dvd. C'est la vie.

I'm not so sure that anime fans are "few and far between." You can now rent and buy anime regularly at Blockbuster Video. And Toonami is one of the Cartoon Channel's highest rated segments.

Besides, you guys don't think that having Batman, Superman, Justice League, Batman Beyond, Transformers (1984-1987), G.I. Joe (1982-1987), He-Man and She-Ra, etc. -- all TV shows that technically aren't anime, per say -- wouldn't bring in a ton of viewers? Like everyone on this and all the Transformers/G.I. Joe Message Boards, for starters? I think that, if Boomerang can be successful, then a Toonami Channel can certainly be successful.

I wasn't planning on running off and making an anime channel. I wanted to know how you would get something like that started. :D
