If WB were to make a KC movie, how should it be done? Tradtional style, maybe tie into the DCAU? Or should it be made to look like Alex Ross's art? The only way they can do that that I can thimk of is with CGI What do you think?

I think this belongs to the DTV thread.

First, I'd say absolutely DO NOT tie it into DCAU. If Superman: Doomsday, New Frontier, and Gotham Knights can be independent, then Kingdom Come absolutely should be.

Secondly, I'd say throw out the CGI idea, too. I see too much irony in doing an obviously computer-modeled 3D movie based on a story that was famous for the meticulous hand-drawn styles of Alex Ross. Granted, I'm not too enamored with the art of Kingdom Come, but I understand that it was a big selling point of the book and a lot of people liked it and were disappointed the follow-up wasn't drawn that way. Not to sound too self-contradictory, but I guess I'd rather see Kingdom Come well hand-drawn with shades of CGI than pure CGI, even if that means diminishing the artistic details.

please not in ross' art, i want the women to look like women and the men to look superheroish. and also no CGI, 2D is much better

Yeah. How do you close a thread?

Ask a mod to move it. If they can. One of the boards I was on used to be able to merge posts...

My dream would be for it to be the Timm character style, the Ross costume designs but with a sort of oil painted look

Don't even know if something like that would work

how about they get Alex Ross to paint every frame. That would be awesome. So, when can we expect it? 2034 perhaps?

so soon ?

Alex Ross would pretty much end up a recluse like Howard Hughes if he tried that

Except for animation and comic fans, I doubt if a Kingdom Come movie would find much of an audience. The idea of an elderly Superman becoming a recluse after Lois Lane's death, battles fought between factions of superheroes over their choice of tactics, and the apocalyptic nature of the story would be a little too freaky for mainstream audiences.

While I agree with your assessment, Gregory Noveck of DC Comics did mention at Comic-con that it is a project they would like to do. I don't really see KC as a much more radical of a concept than Batman Beyond.

If it ever gets done, I'm a bit concerned about what gets lopped out of the story, assuming it's another 75 minute or so production.
