Oh, they can use those guys for sure...they just want to keep them exclusive to Boomerang instead of airing them on that network and on Cartoon Network itself.

Yea, it's actually kinda stupid. There are ALOT of MGM shorts. They made up a good chunk of old-school CN's programming. I think it would be awesome if stuff like Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, George & Junior, or any of the one-time MGM shorts made by Tex Avery or others started airing on CN again. I don't follow the logic that if two or three of the same programs air on both CN and Boom, than it'll make Boom pointless. Boom has plenty of other programming besides the MGM shorts. Besides, Nickelodeon airs a lot of the same stuff as Nicktoons or The N do, and Nicktoons is currently the most improving animation network, and I'm pretty sure The N is doing well too.

But then again, if I could have things my way, I'd shut down Boomerang and bring back all the classics to CN. :D

I could see Cartoon Network starting up a little Boomerang block on Sunday afternoons featuring MGM animation and more. "Three hours of your favorite classic cartoons, everyone from Droopy to Tom & Jerry. Every Sunday afternoon, from 2 to 5. Only on Boomerang from Cartoon Network!" :D I like the sound of that.

That is of course, CN wants to do anything with Sunday afternoons. At this point, they seem content airing marathons of various shows until The Flicks start.

Yeah, but I can dream can't I. :D If Cartoon Network did that, I can guarantee them that I would watch their channel every Thursday night, Friday night (after the action block gets running), and Sunday afternoons. These classic cartons need to be shared with everybody, not kept away on a channel you have to pay extra for.
