New Comedy Specials to Debut Weekly on ADULT SWIM in March

Each Sunday night in March, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's block of animation aimed at adults 18-34, will air a special animated treat at 11 p.m. (ET, PT). Joining Adult Swim's comedy lineup are a gaggle of comic book geeks, an authoritarian park ranger, an Old West sharpshooter with no arms and couple of talking dogs. These specials will rotate into the line-up which includes series like Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Home Movies, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Baby Blues and The Brak Show.

Sunday, March 3: "Welcome to Eltingville" - Comic book lovers, sci-fi geeks, model collectors and role playing game fans -- they're not just Cartoon Network's core audience, but also the stars of "Welcome to Eltingville." This half-hour short, which is centered on a trivia battle for the right to pay an inflated price for a mint-condition Boba Fett action figure, was created by Evan Dorkin, creator of cult comics Milk and Cheese and Dork. Dorkin has also been a writer for Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Batman Beyond.

Sunday, March 10: Adult Swim presents three odd shorts, based on the classic Hanna-Barbera series Yogi Bear and The Jetsons, from acclaimed animator John Kricfalusi. In "Ranger Smith," the intrepid park ranger rules Jellystone Park with an iron fist. "Boo Boo Runs Wild" finds Yogi's sidekick shedding his bowtie to get back to his ursine roots, much to Yogi's dismay. And in the final cartoon, "Father and Son Day," George and Elroy Jetson bond through shaving.

Sunday, March 17: "Night of the Living Doo" - Created by Cartoon Network's On-Air Promotions Department, "Night of the Living Doo" spoofs the Mystery, Inc. gang's way-too-frequent run-ins with monsters and b-list celebrities. Underground comic favorite David Cross, as the owner of a failing haunted castle/bed and breakfast, turns to the gang to figure out why zombies are turning his guests into the undead. Also joining in on the madcap mystery are Gary Coleman, Mark Hamill and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Sunday, March 24: "Saddle Rash" - In stark contrast to popular myth, "Saddle Rash" represents the American West the way it REALLY WAS, populated by gun fighters without arms, buffalo dressed as women, and narrators who can't follow a story. Outlaw Tommy Morgan is the baddest hombre in the Old West town of Saddle Rash, but ever since a reward has been offered for his capture, dead or alive, he doesn't feel like going out much. But things go from sleepy to groggy in this town with the arrival of a mysterious sharpshooter with no arms and a score to settle. Even more puzzling than how he shoots his guns is why the lovely rancher's daughter, the headstrong Hannah Headstrong, falls for this squinty-eyed curiosity. And comically hanging over all the action is the nagging, foreboding feeling shared by everyone in town that coming West was a really bad idea.

Sunday, March 31: "The Lewis Lectures" - Lewis is an urban-dwelling Labrador who shares his expertise in the finer points of canine life with his fellow dogs. His lecture topics include the essentials of stretching, home security, raiding the refrigerator and, most importantly, snowing your caretaker. Created by Merrill Markoe, The Lewis Lectures features the voice of Jack Black as the titular talking pooch.
