The RAW side of SummerSlam (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=215317) saw a title retention and a title change. CM Punk defeated JBL to remain the World Champion and Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix "took all" winning the Intercontinental & Women's Championships respectively. In their first one-on-one meeting ever, Batista pinned John Cena.

In a first time meeting between two of Raw’s biggest Superstars, Batista was able to prove himself the better man by defeating John Cena at SummerSlam. Now that Batista has won, will he refocus on winning the World Heavyweight Title? Also, how will Cena cope with being beaten by The Animal?

Ever since winning the World Heavyweight Title, CM Punk has had to hear JBL doubt his worth as champion, even after he had already successfully defended his gold against the self-proclaimed “wrestling god.” The Straightedge Superstar followed up an insulting drinking contest offer from JBL on Raw by besting him once again in the ring at SummerSlam to retain his championship. With Raw rolling into Punk's hometown of Chicago, will JBL give the Straightedge Champion credit where credit is due? And who will be next to step up to vie for CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Title?

Thanks to the incredible strength of Beth Phoenix, Santino Marella and The Glamazon won their Winners Take All Match making them the new Intercontinental and Women’s Champions. Now that “Glamarella” has proven their relationship to be a golden alliance, where it will lead to next? Will either of the former champions in Kofi Kingston and Mickie James come looking to take their titles back?

Also, last week on Raw, as per Raw GM Mike Adamle’s demands, Kane revealed that the burlap sack he carried around contained the mask of Rey Mysterio. Afterward, Kane just laughed in the face of Adamle before walking to the back. What did Kane mean by someone “scarred and tortured”? Has the Master of the 619 been victimized by the Big Red Monster?

For the answers to these questions and more, be sure to tune into Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT only on USA Network.

After beating J-Me-L last night, CM Punk jobs to Chris Jericho. I want to know why, especially when Jericho isn't going to be in the title match at Unforgiven, and J-Me-L is. Where's the justice?

The hometown curse strikes Punk, but not fellow Chi-town product D-Lo Brown, who gets a DQ win over Santino Marella. Santino proved once again that he didn't deserve to win the IC title right now, but Goofwitz sold Vince another bill of goods.

The bloom's fallen off the rose for Paul Burchill & Katie Lea. No entrances tonight for them (or for Jillian). Burchill is all but squashed by Batista, and Katie jobs to Mickie. Meh.

Cryme Tyme have gotten the attention of the tag champs the best way they know how---by stealing the belts. And DiBiase & Rhodes were pwned again by John Cena.

Here's politics at work. J-Me-L loses at the PPV, then squashes Jamie Noble, while Punk loses to Jericho. Improper booking, IMPO. Goofwitz has to go!

This episode of the Batista & Cena show could have benefited from more usage of the supporting characters.

I liked Kane's return to old-style entrance music to suit his more evil personality, and I liked the last match, but the rest of the show seemed like a waste of time. Lots of squash matches that I couldn't care less about, and talking segments that went nowhere.

And what happened to the "blockbuster announcement from Shane & Stephanie"? Did that somehow turn into Adamle's lackluster announcement for the main event of the next PPV?

Yup. he mentioned that at the request of those two that he announce his title free for all at Unforgiven.

Not the best RAW..actually aside from the main event, which I thought had a sloppy interference by Cade( is he good for anything?) it was a pretty forgettable show. Seemed like a wasted episode actually, especially since the next PPV is in what? 3 weeks.

quit talking about people doing jobs as if it means everything to win a single match. ugh! wrestling is not a legitimate competition. Jake the snake roberts lost nearly all of his rivalries and was still more over than most of the wrestlers today could ever hope to be. as for the booking, the screw job finish felt a little rush, but does the job of putting heat on jericho. if i were writing i'm not sure i would have even put punk in a match with jericho on raw yet, but i have little problem with punk losing. I wouldn't make it too often that he loses, but a single loss like this one won't hurt his credibility since punk can keep himself over regardless.

Just a thought: The match for Unforgiven almost reminds me of the old 24/7 Hardcore Championship rule in which ANYBODY could be the champion anytime, anywhere. Aside from the 20 minute time limit.

It's actually a smaller version of the Hardcore free for all from Wrestlemania XVI

Am I the only one who doesn't like Jericho's new look and attire?

This "Championship Scramble" is fairly obviously their way of getting the belt off Punk and on to Cena or Batista. As much as that does suck, I suppose it's better than just jobbing him out to either of them.

I have a feeling the Championship Scramble match is a cluster[smurf] waiting to happen...

That's the feeling I'm getting also. Which is why, at the very least, they could have had Punk win in Chicago and had Raw end on a good note. At least for me. I hate that idea that the hometown guy "always" has to lose. It makes little sense in the long run since any time the guy returns, you can't get too excited because you know he will lose more than likely.

If Punk comes out of the championship scramble as the champ I will be shocked and amazed.

I second the emotion. Jericho is not in the scramble, as he'll likely be in a match with Shawn Michaels at Unforgiven. For some reason, on Raw, the hometown stars seem to lose 90% of the time. Mickie James last week, Punk this week. This is irresponsible booking, and needs to stop.

This new match for the World Heaveyweight Championship sounds nice but also sounds something like TNA would have come up with.

If TNA had done this it would be in a six sided cage with a penalty box, best 3 out of 5 falls, weapons on the walls, and a pole somewhere for good measure. Then the lights would turn out and everyone would have bats and guitars. Then Jericho would interfere and win the title because Cade gives the 3 count.
