TZ Brawl Tourney III - Anything Goes! (sign-up and rule thread)

it's time to kick off the third toon zone brawl tournament. sign up here if you wish to participate. i hope to start the tournament by next weekend so the sign-up portion will last one week until next saturday night

rules are simple enough. there are none

1. all characters, all items (set at normal), all stages, all music, etc etc etc are valid here
2. there's no "predetermined stages or characters". show up for your match. pick a combatant. pick a stage. fight
3. fights will be 5 life stock matches
4. whoever takes the best of 3 will move on
5. it'd be pretty fun to do a four player free-for-all match, but due to time constraints of all the combatants we will be doing one on one battles

this tournament is pretty much based on randomness

for a prize, i was going to throw in a $5 vc game, but my guess is since nintendo hasn't released anything decent in a few months, we all have already purchased what we're going to purchase from them

sign up if you're interested. if not, that's ok. there'll be another tournament after this one i assume... maybe in mariokart

EDIT: the prize for first has been determined! $10 limit on any VC title you want. keep in mind this means no doubling up on $5 titles because for some reason, nintendo charges tax all of a sudden

We will get Palkia or Cresselia on Spear Pillar. I swear I only get Dialga like a few times on that stage.

Cresselia is the worst possible thing you can get. I swear once it attacks you it will keep going for you for no reason at all >_> even when your dead!(for me anyway X_X.)

Palkia actually a blessing in disguise for me. After all it a tie between Palkia and Cresselia for appearance. I rarely get Dialga, and out of those three he hardly messes with you.

And I have a question: so when we play against our opponent, only that person who wins best of three movies on to the next level. Example, if Player A plays against Player B and Player B wins 2 out of three rounds (each round a five-stock match), then Player B moves to the next level and that's it for Player A? This is correct, right? Because the last one with Jave that allowed one on one, we played against four other people and won on a point scale (mostly).

And I have a suggestion on the first prize: why not offer a gift card like the Team Brawl? Granted, a good portion of us don't have many VCs ordered, so a VC is still good, but if you don't want to offer a VC, then how about a gift card that'll allow the winner to buy whatever he/she wants at a GameStop?

I have to admit this is exciting; it's not often we get to play "anything goes" and God knows my luck I'll be on the receiving end of many a item that we never played in the previous tournaments (e.g. Pokéball, Bomb, Hammer) and I'll probably be too late to grab the Smash Ball from my opponent. :D

It shouldn't be a problem; we welcome everyone, but are you, Kumquat, and Kirbyman all neighbors/friends? I never heard of three people sharing the same Wii for a tourney before (and something tells me that this'll be difficult if each of you three have to battle a different opponent at the same time).
