I feel sorry for Killer Croc. The poor guy wasn't blessed with intelligence and he was never given a good story. Why can't Batman give him a room at the zoo and let him be happy? All he needs is a couple of rocks.
Bane I just feel sorry for him. He went from a horrible Mexican wrestler to a leather wearing gimp. He should have never been bought into the animated world.
The Joker come on it's not like this guy ever hurts anyone or does something with malice. Why is Batman always beating him and putting him in jail?

Hmm..well..I gotta disagree with everything you said...
Killer Croc-I like him. He's a cool, strong brute...
Bane-I always liked Bane. If you've read "Knightfall" you'd know his origin and reason for going after Batman...
and Joker-"Why is Batman always beating him and putting him in jail?", Number one reason: He killed Batman's parents [at least in some story arcs he did..I believe he did in the Animated world]. Plus, Joker is always killing people, causing mayhem..I see no reason for him not to be put in jail...
Now I'll tell you who I feel sorry for...Poison Ivy..I Mean come on...she commands plants!

Are you asking if I've read Knightfall? Tell me you didn't just say that. If you've read it and I assume you have then you know Bane has no place in the animated world. Like Harley Quinn has no business in the comic world.
Bane was created for a purpose and a single event. He should have never been brought back. He was semi-important in No Man's Land and he fit into the story. He's not someone Batman should go to blows with every 100 issues. He doesn't belong in the animated world. Just look at him. He's a joke.
Poison Ivy is another one who wasn't used for anything other than Harley's gal pal in the cartoon. Good observation. I should invite my buddy here. He's a Poison Ivy freak. He'll tell you from now till doomsday how she's never been used right in the cartoon minus Home and Garden and a few early stories. He likes the movie incarnation. I wonder about him sometimes.

I do agree how he shouldn't have had that TAS ep ("Bane"..it just didn't work), but Bane's appearance in the TNBA eps were great. His outfit was retooled and his roll in "Over the Edge" was the BEST one I've ever seen...

I like the FOX Poison Ivy. You know when she served a purpose and didn't look like she should be flying with Peter Pan.
I liked "Over the Edge" You know it wasn't "real" So we can't really count that as a good showing for Bane since it was a dream enduced by Scarecrow's fear gas. I had heard Bane was going to be a major player in a Batman DTV, but that must have been wishful thinking.
I didn't mind the black leather. It was the dog collar and studs that confirmed Bane as the animated joke. Bane should be treated like a ruthless assassin. He's tough. He shouldn't be in a bar singing Judist Priest songs. Some people aren't cognizant enough to realize Bane was a gimic for a story.
Tell me you didn't like the studs.
I would switch to my Bane avatar, but I want to be able to have a custom title above it before I debut it.

Actually if I remember right a small time thug by the name of Joe Chill took out Bruce's parents in the animated world.
The villain I feel most sorry for - Babydoll. Not only did she not have any powers but she was probably the most annoying 'villain' to come out of the show. The fact Batman didn't slap her around and tell her to stop the whinning and move on shows just how much restraint he actually has.

I didn't notice the comment about the Joker till Spider's post. The Joker didn't kill Bruce's parents. The Joker's name is unknown. We just know about his quest to take care of his wife that led him into a bat of chemicals. "Jack Napier" killed them in the movie. That was all Tim Burton. You shoudn't use orgins from the movies. I'm not in the mood to talk about the movies.
When has the Joker ever killed someone or caused mayhem? It's not his problem he entertains the masses and they laugh themselves to death.
Baby Doll should have been locked in a tox box mwhahaha and kept in the Batcave for when Nightwing has children. They might need a friend to play with while dad's fighting crime.

I am in disbelief that no one mentioned Mr. Freeze (at least I don't think anyone did). Easily the most tragic figure from Batman's rouge's gallery, you gotta feel bad for the guy, all he's trying to do is save his wife.

Missed this the first time, but let me say what the hell are you talking about? Joker is a homicidal maniac who constantly slaughters innocent people at a tremendous rate. He deserves to be locked up with the key thrown away.

Did you even watch the show?
Also, I thought "Bane" was an amazing episode, but to each his own.
It's hard not to feel sorry for most of the people in the Batman world, but I think Batman has the saddest story. :(

Joker murders/mayhem in the animated world.
Joker killed the father of Bruce Wayne's first love Andrea, and caused her to become even more obsessed with vengance then Batman, thus robbing Bruce of the last chance he had for a better life. He also killed his former boss so he could use his body as bait for Batman, who he thought was the one killing all the gangsters (but was really Andrea dressed up in an outfit similar to Bats). Watch Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm where all this takes place.
In The Laughing Fish episode, Joker tried to have a bunch of guys bumped off simply because they wouldn't let him copyright the fish that he screwed with so he could make a buck. If Batman didn't save them, they would've died.
In World's Finest, he killed a shop owner just because he wanted to steal the kryponite that was there so he could use it to kill Superman. During his episode, he tried to get back at Lex Luthor by using his LexWing to level nearly all of the Lexcrop buildings, and people had to have been in those buildings.
In Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker, he ended Tim Drake's Robin career by kidnaping and torturing him, and was able to find out that Batman was Bruce Wayne in the process. And even planted a micro chip encoded with his DNA on Tim's neck, thus able to return in the Batman Beyond timeline in Tim's body. Of course BB is now considered an elsewhere, but if it was scripted, animated, and aired, it still counts.
I feel sorry for Max Gibson. No matter what she does, she can't win :( I also feel sorry for Talia Al Ghul. Being stuck between Ra's and Bruce/Batman, she couldn't win, either.

I'd say that the only reason I would feel sorry for all the girls that Bruce has had flings with, would be that I'm sorry they're so stupid. I mean, come on, the guy's a labeled playboy! Then again, the girls aren't exactly genius'. I feel most sorry for Clayface and Mr.Freeze. Neither of them actually wanted to become what they are, and they suffer so much. Also the ManBat, or rather, I feel really sorry for his wife since she worries about him so much. Though Batman is probably the main person I feel sorry for.

I own that DVD. I don't remember Joker killing her father. That was someone who wasn't the Joker. He had normal skin tone and he was a gangster. Joker just likes to have fun. That's all. About his old boss, he was just that old and dying. The old man died in his sleep. Joker wasn't aware of this. Poor guy
In The Laughing Fish episode, Joker tried to have a bunch of guys bumped off simply because they wouldn't let him copyright the fish that he screwed with so he could make a buck. If Batman didn't save them, they would've died.
No they had an allergic reaction to his Joker Venom. It wasn't his fault that their body couldn't handle the toxin. It was just supposed to make them smile. Think of it as a form of prozak.

Lex Luthor is an evil man and he was just doing his job as an American citizen to bring down that evil. Why he is no different than Batman or Superman now is he?

In the movie, Joker's implied to have been a hitman for the Valestra mob. So that normal skin tone guy was the Joker, pre-disfigurement.

My amount of sympathy varies from episode to episode, depending on the story. But on the whole, I'd say that Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, and Clayface are most consistantly deserve audience sympathy. Robin (in ROBIN'S RECKONING), Mad Hatter (MAD AS A HATTER) and Andrea Beaumont (MASK OF THE PHANTASM) are definite candidates, too.
As for UN-sympathetic villains - like 'em as I do, I could never find a reason to feel sorry for the Joker, the Scarecrow, or Bane. They're just nasty, nasty people.

And you know the "loyal for life" bit is just a cover for how much he really hates Bruce for having a trust-fund when he (Alfred) is like 104-years-old and still working 16-hour days. He certainly started out as a decent enough fellow, though one with some odd ideas (like mind-controlling mice). He was too meek to do anything harmful... at least before Alice's boyfriend ran off for a time, and Hatter saw an opening. After the night on the town lifted his spirits, he couldn't go back to his former meek self and was desperate to have Alice to himself again... that's why he went over the edge, as it were. After he had taken the first step down that dark path, he probably figured he might as well, long after Alice was out of the picture. He's a gentlemanly fellow that let a moment of despiration twist him.

I've always felt sorry for the Joker. Maybe because he isn't a simpatheic character. There's something awful about knowing that this guy has no hope of recovery, and completely off the deep end. In Miller's TDKR, when the joker was catatonic, you could see that this man had no other thing in his life than to be batman's arch nemiesis. I think that's why we will never get a definative origin for the joker. You're not supposed to feel sorry for him or view him outside of the batman world. His existance is only for batman and anything else would be unnecassery.
It's really sad. Also, the fact that he is so completely crazy and lost makes it really rough to read about him.
(BTW, the thread that discusses his sexuality with batman has some great points.)

I feel sorry for Alfred. Why can't Bruce help him just a little bit. Alfred really cares about Bruce, Barbara, Dick, and Tim. He works too hard, and can use some help from bat-team. Alfred is not the only one I feel sorry for. I feel sorry for Batman. His parents died when he was a little boy, so he didn't really expirenced love from them. He couldn't really love anyone back. I feel sorry for Victor Fries he didn't deserve to have his wife taken away from him. I feel sorry for Ventriloquist personally he has such low self-esteem that he had to create the dummy who eventually took over him. I feel sorry for Mad Hatter his personality couldn't win him the love of a woman he loves. I feel it sorry for Tim, Joker really did hurt him. I feel sorry for Dick and Barbara, both wanted Bruce to love them. Dick needed a father figure, but Bruce didn't show him that fatherly love. He probably had some romantic relationship with Barbara, but it wasn't what she really needed. I feel sorry for Harley, she doesn't know what she is doing. Joker usses her. I feel sorry for many people not just on Batman show, but also on Superman and Batman Beyond. The only person I don't feel sorry for is the Joker. He knows what he is doing perfectly well, and still he keeps on doing bad things and enjoying them.
