Can this be implemented? It would make responding so much easier, instead of having to click "post reply," wait for the page to load, and then being able to post.

I like to give every user that extra opportunity to really think about what they're going to post. Quick reply tends to lead to more impulsive and lazier posts. It's an option that we choose to leave disabled and won't be enabling any time soon.
Thank you!

And more power to you for that. :)

I actually think Quick Reply is a rather handy tool. I don't really think it makes others post with less...quality, than a regular post. Plenty of people post lazily, regardless of whether or not there is a faster way to do so. Honestly, I think Quick Reply just makes the process smoother and easier, I still put as much thought into replying with, or without the option.

Look at it this way; You're reading a thread and then you come to the end of it. You weren't planning on posting in the thread because you have nothing to say or whatever, but then you see, right at the bottom, an empty box awaiting your reply. Would you be tempted to use it anyway, even if you don't have anything substantial to contribute to the thread? How many people do you think would go ahead and post if they had that visual cue to do so?
Humans want to fill things. When we see a blank piece of paper, we want to put something on it. When we see an empty box at the bottom of a thread, we have a nagging urge to type something into that box, anything at all.
In a previous Quick Reply thread, I recall Harley or one of the other staff talking about the subliminal effect the word "Quick" would have on some posters. If one read the phrase "Quick Reply," they might think, unconsciously, that they should keep their thoughts brief. This would lead do a load of the one-sentence responses Toon Zone wants to prevent.
I'm overgeneralizing here. Of course not everyone is going to think that way and do it that way, but it can and will have an affect on some people.
Finally, what positive things does adding Quick Reply give us? One less click. One extra second of our time. That's it. The potential negative ramifications outweigh the added convenience.

You make an excellent argument, but I feel as if you are putting too much negatives on human error. Majority of the members here have a good head on their shoulders, I don't really think the negatives would really weigh down this forum that much simply due to that reason. I simply think Quick Reply makes things smoother, and easier, yes. Regardless of what option you add, or don't, there are going to be people who choose to be lazy, this simply just gives them an easier means to do so, but at the same time it also gives users who want to contribute an easier means to do so aswell.
I may possibly just have a bit more faith in the human mind than others, so my opinion may be slightly biased. I understand what you mean though, I could definately see abuse of it, but that's why there are rules, no? And with anything comes abuse, that doesn't mean we should be afraid to tackle the situation, so to speak, and then deal with those accordingly who don't follow said rules.
