Garfield's been going for thirty years. Most fans believe the strip has run it's course and needs to be done away with, having exhausted its supply of jokes nearly a decade ago.

But a year ago, the comic strip had it's first major shakeup in like...almost ever. Jon finally hooked up with Liz, and now she has a much larger role in the comic strip, actually bringing in some new situations that the comic has never had before.

The question is, has the strip improved at all since Liz's "upgrade" to main character? And the bigger question: has anyone on here even read the strip in years and have anything to say? :p

I think it's gotten way better. It's a relative thing, though, because it was really bad before Liz so that's a big hole to dig out of. Get Fuzzy is the new Garfield anyway, and it's way funnier.

I think the movie did help that little twist to come about.

i must say that Garfield has gotten a bit better since Liz and Jon started going out more often. It's been interesting to see how the characters especially Garfield relate to the change.

I think it's gotten a little bit better, but it's still pretty much the same; hit and miss. There are still funny strips but there's no consistency. On a side note, I recently discovered Garfield Minus Garfield; now that puts the fun back in things.

Odie is still rarely seen, and when's the last time we saw Jon's family. The new artists need to learn to include ALL the characters!

I think it'd be great if Lyman reappeared.

Well I think the strip has gotten better. It needed some new life and this change brought it about. Jon and Garfield just visited the farm recently and I believe Doc Boy was in a few of those strips. Since the change some strips have shown characters that haven't been seen for years such as Arlene. So I actually do enjoy reading Garfield again for the first time in a long time.

The strips occassionally have a point to them. And there are even some weak-long stories again. Yeah its definately gotten better.

It has helped a little. Garfield was funny and great until around the turn of the century. Adding Liz into the mix spiced things up a bit.
