What is your least favorite cartoon character? Mine would have to be Cool Cat.

Cool Cat, Merlin the Magic Mouse, Bunny and Claude, Chimp and Zee, Rapid Rabbit... and everything else late 1967-1969 WB.

Is this limited to classic characters? If not, I will add scooby doo.

I don't know which characters I really don't like, but I'm not too much of a fan of the Van Burean and Krazy Kat cartoons...

No it doesn't have to be classic. Let's just not use the 90's. Too much junk.

Okay, then my least favorite pre-1990's cartoon character is Scrappy-Doo.

I have actually grown kind of fond of the post-1964 WB gang over the years (Cool Cat, Merlin, Bunny & Claude, Rapid Rabbit, etc.). I even have them pop-up on my main page's logo once and awhile.

As for myself, I can't say I care very much for some of the later Terrytoons characters like Possible Possum, Luno the Flying Horse, Hector Heathcoate, and Deputy Dawg (he's probably the best of the lot, though).

Yeah, I don't really like the later Terrytoons too, though Jon is right that Deputy Dawg is the best of the later ones.

Other characters I can't stand are Herman the Mouse's cousins, since they're so helpless, and always yelling for Herman when Katnip's got them, which gets rather annoying. That's why I like the one's where Herman is with his nephews, or when the his cousins get on the gag he pulls on Katnip ("Mice-Capades"), or the ones where the cousins hardly or don't appear at all ("Of Mice and Magic", "A Bicep Built for Two").

There's a lot of them. The most recent cartoon that I don't like would have to be Samari (sp?) Jack. That has got to be one of the dumbest freakin cartoons ever. Pretty ironic considering how popular it is. :\

Mine, in no particular order, would be: Columbia's Willoughby Wren and their very ill-advised version of Li'l Abner; Walter Lantz's Beary Family and Maw & Paw; and any & all vintage characters named Gabby (a blessing and a curse in itself, that).

No, just kidding! I like Bugs Bunny! How could anyone hate Bugs?
My real least favorite cartoon character would be Orbitty, Elroy's pet alien from the 1980's version of the Jetsons.

Sylvester.

I'm sorry, but I just can't stand him. He has been a comedic dud ever since he was introduced, and yet he still lives on...

All of the "Craptoon Craptoons"
Scooby Doo
Smurfs
Sniffles
The Little King (Van Bueren)
Pudgy (I hate this mutt)

Walter Lantz's "The Bearys" kept wit and humor in hibernation throughout. The "Maw and Paw" cartoons were no better, except for "Pig in a Pickle," which was paced like many a classic Jones.

"Worst cartoon character"? If one of the mods could be so kind to fix that? Thanks.

My main choice:

Porky's nephew (I forget his name) - What an obnoxious brat. Making Porky's life miserable for no reason. If that's not an advocate for eating meat, nothing is.

Howard

Porky's nephew was Pinky. Speaking of nephews, I really don't care for Popeye's four nephews, Pipeye, Peepeye, Pupeye and Poopeye. Who would name their kid POOPEYE ?!? The Famous studios Popeye cartoons featuring them seem more like Donald Duck stories done with Popeye.

I also can't stand Pudgy, and all of the Nicktoon characters, except for the casts of Ren & Stimpy, Rocko, the Angry Beavers, and SpongeBob.

First off, I want to ask something. How could anyone possibly hate Scooby-Doo? Scooby rules!!! Now let's see, what cartoon characters don't I like? I definately hate Pokemon. That has got to be my least favorite cartoon of all time. I can't believe the WB puts on a Pokemon episode before Scooby-Doo and one after. How can they put a great show in between two episodes of a crappy show. That really sucks.

... No doubt because the Lantz crew had figured out by then that the pig would get all the laughs, and so put him to the best possible use. :D

I was wondering why no one had tried to defend Scooby Doo yet. Well, I don't like it because it's just...boring. And they try to make it funny but the "gags' just come off as lame and stupid. And yea pokemon is stupid, except for Team Rocket of course. :p Team Rocket is what makes the show funny in my opinion.

And to stay on topic, another show I don't like is Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Man...talk about a cartoon that's entire plot is based on sheer idiocy.

I understand, you're entitled to your opinion, but please don't be too rude about it or that could be offensive to fans. I have problems with people acting that way on the "Sabrina" board. Well, that's all I'll say for now.

Well, I'll attack a major character here...I don't like Tweety. The only Tweety incarnation I really care for is Bob Clampett's sadistic little baby bird, Freleng's version just doesn't send me. I like the Tweety cartoons, though, because the situations and Sylvester's antics make up for any shortcomings.

That's okay, Meow. You didn't offend me, I just thought I'd state my opinion. As for Tweety, I think he's okay, but I can see why people don't like him. My sister and brother don't really care for him either.

A thread this like pops up every so often, and I'm surprised no one's mentioned perennial "worst cartoon character" whipping boy Conrad Cat. I'm indifferent about him, but I suppose if I had to pick a worst cartoon character it would be Ed, Edd, and Eddy. What I want to know, is how does one go about getting a cartoon produced and on the air? Is the cartoon industry in that bad of shape that this is the best they have to offer? I'm sure CN sees pilots for new shows all the time; can you imagine how bad those shows are? I don't think I want to.

How can you not like TC, RR and Wile, or Spongebob? I don't like Ren and Stimpy a whole lot either, but we may be in the minority on that one.
