Paul Walker. He is so unbelievable it's not funny. Just watch Fast and the Furious and listen to the way he talks. He sounds like he's reading off something and can't understand it.

Keanu Reeves, he always looks confused. He was good in the matrix though, basically because he had few lines and he was supposed to be confused.

Id have to say that (other than pathetic attempts at an acting career:Spears, Mariah Carey etc.) Feddy Prinze Jr. I hate that guy! Talk about piece of crap actor who keeps playing the annoying passive boy next door roles in empty headed teen movies. God, why are they thinking of making him Terry in the Batman Beyond movie!?!?!? He would fit in about as well as Jason Biggs!!! (sorry, i had to get that off my chest)

Brad Pitt
Freedie Prinze Jr.
Sylvester Stalone
Tom Green
Davi Arquette
Hulk Hogan
Brenden Fraiser
Britney Spears
Arnold Schwartzenegger
Disney Channel Regulars
Jim Carrey
Snoop Doggie Doo
Carrot Top
The Rock
N'SYNC
Madonna

Useless Fact. Movie stars have the highest unemployment rate in the country. So remember to have a backup job when things go bad.

I'm leading toward Ben Affleck. "Reindeer Games" and "Pearl Harbor" kind of helped me with my decision. Yeah, "Good Will Hunting" was good and all, and so were numerous Kevin Smith films, but "Armageddon"? Those three films mentioned above overtake any good thing he has done.

Brad Pitt? You don't like Brad Pitt's acting? This is the same brad Pitt we're talking about here, right? The one that was in Seven and Fight Club? He was phenomenal in those flicks!

It's a three way tie for me:

Keanu Reeves
Christopher Walken
David Duchovny

Must be all the sleep in my eyes; did I just see Christopher Walken's name on a list of worst actors? Nah, I must be dreaming. No one could be that narrow-minded.

I truly don't know who to pick (on) for this category, so I'll shift it over to television and choose Emily Hart. The girl (sister of Melissa Joan Hart) has little talent and even less charisma. Her voice work on the excreable "Sabrina: TAS" is a good example.

Yep, I'm afraid so. He's just like Keanu - he delivers every single line in the same voice, with the same emotion, and the same monotony. Yes, he's good in a couple of flicks - just like Keanu is - put him in a role where the character is supposed to be like that, and he's fine. But overall, the man has no range, and terrible delivery.

Yeah, but he looks like the type of guy who might come and kill you in your sleep. For that reason, there is no way he's going my worst list.

I'd have to go with Freddy...

Ok, has anyone seen this? (I saw it on tv last week)...

A car full of Keanu-characters (Ted, the Point Break guy, Neo and the guy from Speed) drive past a car filled with characters played by Christopher Walken- one of whom severs his own head to crash the Keanu car. Anyone see this toon?

RE: the Keanu clones in the car--was it Saturday Night Live? I haven't seen that show in months (my satellite deosn't get NBC feeds for some nexplicable reason). Sounds not unlike a Primetime Glick skit where they parodied a trailer for the Independent Movie Channel, in which every movie had lesbians and foreigners in every concievable combinatoric ("...and on Friday, as always, Kevin Smith's Clerks!")

WORST ACTOR: Shaquille O' Neil. He's a lot more wooden and less adroit in front of a camera without a basketball in his hand. Norm MacDonald, who cannot emote for beans and always gives his lines in a nasal whiny monotoe that makes me want to fart on my TV and set it on fire, is a close second.

WORST ACTRESS: The chirrupy Amanda Bynes and the late Dana Plato post-Different Strokes. You know an actress is terrible if she fails at porn, for God's sake.

I'm going to go with Tom Hanks. Sorry, but some actors manage to somehow get the reputation of being great actors, and in truth they're just playing the same character over and over (see also Julia Roberts, Michael Douglas).

"What's you're favorite scart movie?"
"Um, Kazam."
"That's not a scary movie."
"Well, you obviously haven't seen Shaq act..."

Shaq gets a vote. As does Chris Klien, I've surprised no one else mentioned him yet. You may remember him as dear in the headlights boy from American Pie, American Pie II, Election, and Say It Isn't So... that guy could act if his life depended on it....

Most entetaineers that just try to be actors, but dont get me wrong they are a few exceptions to the rule. Though they are a VERY few exceptions.

Christopher Walken? Yes, I recall an old thread with yourself having problems with Mr Walken - in regards to being cast as Bruce...

David Duchovny... hmm, quite like him..

What's the definition here? I mean, I find the Duchovny and Walken may only play very similar characters, but they do seem convincing - however that doesn't mean that they are versatile
actors.

Are we judging actors versatility or their ability to be convincing even if the role isn't particularly... challenging?

Either way, Keanu loses..

What's the difference between a tightly wound homeowner, a 13-year-old trapped in a man's body, a retarded country boy, a cocky tycoon, a compulsive cop, a grizzled army captain, an oppressed gay man dying of AIDS, a drunken baseball coach, a lonely widower, a fast-talking manager, a standup comedian, and an insane castaway?

NOTHING, EVIDENTLY.

I disagree with a lot of these posts, but perhaps too many to make riddles for.

mbaker, since I consider Brad Pitt to be one of the best actors in the industry I'm really curious as to why you think of him as one of the worst. Could you explain why you don’t like him?

I didn't say Tom Hanks chose bad scripts, I said he was a bad actor. He has managed to mangle many excellent movies (and even more terrible ones) with his non-existent comic timing and florrid over acting. But here's the punchline: being hired for a wide range of characters doesn't necessarily imply the ability to play anything but the same downtrodden, "aw shucks", just-gotta-love-him, middle-American woodenly bland hero.

Besides, I didn't say nobody should like him, I just said I think he's a poor actor. I'm sure that for every actor or actress mentioned here, there's at least one person in America that would argue that he or she is a great performer. My choice just happens to have won several Academy Awards, and therefore gained legitimacy, but that still doesn't mean that he is any less vapid and one-dimensional than any Pauly Shore or Britney Spears.

I have no love for Tom Hanks either. While he has done some fine roles (apparently - none that I own on video or DVD for some apprarent reason) he has never enticed me to watch a film.

To be fair though, this is not a judgement of his worthness as an actor, just to his power to entice people to watch a movie.

Whatever he does, he seems to convincingly and I'd say that makes him a reasonable actor.

However, as a likeable lead role - well thats a different story.

Oh, that reminds me. Kevin Costner. Same character, not well played, NO charisma. I hate him. PLUS his exposure in films is WAY too long - because he makes sure they run for 3 hours... god, I hate him ;)

Ahh, someone finally mentioned Kevin Costner. LOL. Has he done any good movies besides Field of Dreams? When I hear a Kevin Costner movie's coming out, I automatically assume it's bad. I don't think he's necessarily the worst actor out there, he's passable, but he can't choose scripts for the life of him.

And speaking of people who can't choose scripts, John Travolta. For every good movie he's made, he has about 4 bad ones bringing it down.

I'll just list reasons why these people DON'T suck.

Brad Pitt

FIGHT CLUB
SPY GAME
SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET

Kevin Costner

ROBIN HOOD
3000 MILES FROM GRACELAND

Tom Hanks

PHILADELPHIA
FORREST GUMP
CASTAWAY
(There are more, but it's late)

James

I like Brad Pitt too. He is irritating (good actor, handsome guy, amusing commenataries....), but Fight Club, Seven and Snatch are all made that little better cos of him.

Costner - I thought he was dull and unsuitable in Robin Hood and he just does beyond zero for me. Again with Hanks. He was watchable in Gump and Apollo 13, but I don't feel he did much for me - nothing another actor couldn't have done.

Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I think he's a bad actor though...

Funny, yeah, I hate Brendan Fraser and Tom Hanks but there are indeed far WORSE actors out there! Can't we find some of those truely awful actors like.... I dunno, ARNIE? Yeah, he's fun, but he can't exactly cope with a multitude of roles can he?

How about some people who can't act rather than people who are just purely irritating (and thats a whole other thread altogether!)

Tom Hanks is good at making movies that middle-aged people like. I hate every movie that he is in.

I like a couple of Hank's movies, and I'm not quite "middle-age" yet. I like Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, and Forrest Gump.
