Before The Great American Bash, SmackDown will have the wedding that was off last week and was back on by the close of the show. You're invited to join Edge and Vickie Guerrero as they celebrate at the top of the hour.

Last week, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero came to Edge’s aid, preventing utter destruction from Big Show. Now, with “The Family” issues settled, the reconciled couple will tie the knot on SmackDown.

Will the wedding distract the Rated-R Superstar from knocking WWE Champion Triple H off his throne at The Great American Bash? Or, will the officially united power couple work together to bring gold back to "The Family"? What might The Game have to say about things just two days before The Great American Bash?

Shelton Benjamin celebrated his reemergence on SmackDown with an important non-title win over ECW’s United States Champion Matt Hardy. Can Benjamin capitalize on his success and bring the coveted championship back to Friday nights? Or will Hardy twist the fate of the Gold Standard?

Although Mr. Kennedy proved victorious over Domino, his real conflict was with guest commentator and former friend, Montel Vontavious Porter. After Kennedy made a crack at MVP’s expense before the match, a telling stare between the two allowed the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga, to steamroll an unsuspecting Kennedy. Could this incident fuel the fire between the Green Bay Loudmouth & the Ballin’ Superstar?

Meanwhile, Finlay & Hornswoggle continued to be a thorn in the side of WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison, scoring a non-title victory with the help of the Belfast brawler’s shillelagh. Will the champions ever be able to move past the father-son combination? Or could their titles drown in a sea of green?

After scoring a tag-team victory over Michelle McCool & Cherry, with her partner Maryse, Natalya attacked her Great American Bash opponent with a devastating suplex outside the ring. Will McCool be able to get revenge on the third-generation Diva before they do battle for the new Divas Championship? Or will Natalya prove to be too much to handle?

The devastating Vladimir Kozlov continued his undefeated streak. Is there anyone who can stop the Moscow Mauler?

Find out the answers to all of these questions and more on Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 CT only on The CW Network.

While I was glad they didn't drag the wedding out until the end of the show like in the past, this is ridiculous. We don't need to see Vickie and Edge involved in every plot tonight.

Pretty blah show. Too much Edge and La Familia for my taste.

One standout part of the show was Brian Kendrick's new gimmick with ezikel. I liked it a lot and hope it gets mileage as the weeks progress.

Well, that took forever.

Some good matches, though.

Worst. Smackdown. Ever.

The match quality got better as the night progressed. Kennedy-Umaga and Yang-Kendrick tied for best match honors. The Hardys match was too short and ended too soon. Edge hogged the spotlight in ways HHH never thought of, and of course, Hunter showed up at the end to ruin the wedding from hell.

Who do we blame for this nonsense?

I'm just wondering why they didn't edit the final segment at all in post-production. Surely there's a dark match or extra recap they could've thrown in to make up for the lost time. It was painful. Edge just had to stand there with vague anger for the whole 15 minutes as the video dragged on, and on, and on... There was so much they could've done to make that more dynamic.

They should've scrapped this and redid the card the next night. Give the Charlotte fans some restitution for some bad booking.

How I'd re-do the show:

1. Shane McMahon makes a surprise appearance, as he'll probably be at the Bash on Sunday. Because of what has happened on her watch the last several months, Vicki Guerrero is relieved of command, replaced by Charlotte's own----Ric Flair.

2. Finlay & Hornswoggle def. Edgeheads in about 90 seconds. Total squash to punish Hawkins & Ryder for the blatantly illegal mismatch.

3. Big Show def. MVP in about 11 minutes with the chokeslam. This sets up Show to go after Kozlov, Khali, & Benjamin next, in whatever order.

4. Cherry & Michelle McCool def. Natalya & Victoria in 5:00 when Cherry schoolgirled Nat. Punishment for Vicki's actions.

5. Brian Kendrick def. Shannon Moore in about 5:00 with Sliced Bread #2. Kendrick will be the only heel going over.

6. Instead of facing each other, Matt & Jeff Hardy def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely in about 10:30 with Matt pinning Chavo after a Twist of Fate.

7. Edge cuts a promo on HHH, who comes out, and they do a pull-apart to end the show.

That's how I'd book it.

With the Bash over I still have a few SmackDown thoughts…

I liked how the wedding had already happened for once, we didn’t have to build expecting something to happen and then waiting for whatever it would be. At the start of the show, it seemed like it would have gone off without a hitch. The wedding reception theme worked for me, although I also got very tired of it.

Show cutting in before getting booked in his massive handicap match was a good time. The Divas catching the bouqet and then Vickie maliciously booking a match and then another for herself… not so much.

Jimmy Wang Yang did looked well-rested. ;) The time off didn’t do him any favors against the new (and improved?) Brian Kendrick. I’m intrigued by this new look for Brian and his big bodyguard Ezekial. I’m just hoping the announce teams lays off the Shawn Michaels references a little bit otherwise it will handicap Kendrick.

The Hardys getting Chavo and the wedding party with cake was kind of fun. The match was not because we didn’t get much of one.

The Triple H appearance did last too long, but it did work on the level that he’s the one you see to ruin a wedding segment. This would have to be the weakest of the ones we’ve seen him in, but that piece of continuity was nice. Vickie didn’t play the angry bride as well as Stephanie II, but that’s no surprise. Alicia Fox seems a better match for Edge than Vickie ever did. This arc has to end now or it will hurt the top heel of the brand. WWE seems to be taking the My Network TV relaunch of SmackDown very seriously with the addition of Triple H, Jim Ross and the WWE Championship and Vickie sticks out like a sore thumb that is also a terrible actor.

Triple H's little video thing was kinda weak if you ask me and the wedding planner's acting was horrible. It's like she couldn't keep from laughing for 3 seconds. The Hardy Boys match was the only good part of Smackdown this week, oops, I mean last week.
