No way, Monarch's gonna arch Jonas Venture Jr, that is so awesome:D.

Hank thinks he's immortal now, i wonder where thats going to lead now, and Hank's friend says himself that hes Brock's long lost kid.

that weird fish dude monarch killed in the begining was lame as hell, i would've killed him too.

does anyone else think Dr. Girlfriends old costume is better than the new one?, i do.

Gold, pure gold.

I love the Venture Bros, and an episode that was all about them. That is made of win. Dean goes back to being a classic wimp. And the antics of Hank and Dermitt were classic stupidity.

Moppets, still creepy. And their new larva costumes, kind of weird. Very fitting for their characters.

Okay, I know people here are getting sick of seeing The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend and the sideplot episodes building the show's continuity and just want the one shot epsiodes about other people like last week, but you know what? They can continue putting the Monarch in as much as they want because he always has the most hilarious stuff. My favorite episodes of the season so far have been starring him, and this one is no exception. In fact when it comes to straight out hilariouness, this one is actually right up there with "Home Is Where The Hate Is". Very funny stuff all the way around. Pretty much everything the Monarch did (gripe about Dr. Dewgong's name and backstory and be freaked out by his looks, shooting him when thinking about Dr. Venture, talking with the henchmen about the lamness and missing Venture, the group meeting with the hilarious explanation about how they are the bad guys, professional bad guys and the monarch actually saying the Moppets should kill the henchmen since they're so useless, the Monarch actually entering in Hank's newspaper and getting info about the compound and deciding to actually go there, the secret elevator slide in, enjoying the smell of venture, humping that guard robot with hatred from "Home Insecurity" getting Dean not to tattle on him by saying that'd make him like the Monarch and being picked up at the end) pretty much everything the henchmen did (talk about the good times of arching Venture, 24 not wanting to go on the slide, 21 mentioning how they're sort of like main characters and mentioning to Hank how he's shot him before and he lived, and then shooting him again, and 24 having to give Dermot all his stuff and 21 confused about all the stuff of the Henchme costume and lair they didn't know they had) everything the Moppets and Dr. Girlfriend did (trying to actually appear professional to Dr. Dewgong, the moppets threats and armonring up, Mrs. The Monarch explaining why The Monarch hates Venture without actually explaining why, commanding the troops and the end getting The Monarch to Hench Jonas Venture Junior which I hope we see more of along with Hank thinking he can't die because those are awesome plot points) and everything The Venture Brothers did. I mean it's actually really cool that for once they had Brock and Dr. Venture being the ones not there only making little cameos compared to the various eps we've seen of Doc and Brock there and Hank and Dean only getting some cameos like "Powerless In The Face of Death" and "The Invisble Hand Of Fate" but they had funny scenes like Hank and Dermott's rock band, Dean's paper, Dean being scarred and running off into the closet, Hank quoting Highlander and... well you know I really just loved everything about this episode actually. In fact thinking about it's probably my favorite Venture Brothers ever, or at least one of them. Hats off to Jackson and co for making a show that not only has a solid continuity with a lot of characters growing and not being stuck in the cliche cartoon rut, but making increidlbey LOL filled stuff like this one.

EDIT: Changed Muppets to Moppets since someone pointed out my spelling errors.

They were playing up the homoerotic side to the Monarch's obsession with Dr. Venture, sort of like the Brock/Rusty "penetration" jokes last episode.

You know, people shouldn't complain that much about The Monarch because we have back to back straight-up episodes with just Doc, Brock & the boys.

Anyway, it seems like the writers really like to tease us with the question of why The Monarch is obsessed with Dr. Venture. I liked that Dean was trying to be the man of the house. 21's line about him and 24 never being killed is also chuckle as well.

Thank God they got Dermitt being Brock's son out of the way instead of keeping it up. All that's left is to reveal who the mother is.

I wonder how The Monarch will act with having Jonas Jr. as his new archenemy?

I dunno, I'm thinking that, now that Jonas Venture Jr. is the one with the psychotic arch-nemesis, his position and Rusty's might be reversed. It could turn out that the big reason for the two's different levels of success is that one didn't have a butterfly themed nutjob wrecking his home and lab every other week.

The Monarch hates Dr. Venture. And it has something to do with a homosexual crush he has on Dr. Venture. So either he's in deep denial and is expressing his feelings for Dr. Venture by funneling them into anger, or Dr. Venture turned down one of the Monarch's attempts/come ons.

Actually a Dugong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dugong) is a real animal, don't forget that some Pokemon are based on real animals.

does anyone else think Dr. Girlfriends old costume is better than the new one?, i do.

I was going to mention that. For some reason the old costume is better than the new one. It's got this retro look to it that I find attractive.

Um, anyone think the Monarch is... gay for Dr. Venture?

He was humping a robot with Rusty's face on it!

Honestly, it would explain a lot.

In some weird way he was getting back at Dr. Venture by doing that. How? I don't know. It's kinda like this movie that came out in the 90's where these guys found out this girl was a lesbian pretending to be a guy and they raped her to "prove a point". I admit it doesn't make sense but that's how bad guys are.

Somebody kill Dr. Girlfriend's little creeps. Please.

I kinda like them, they're funny. If I'm not mistaken, they use to be silent most of the time.

Anyway, did anyone else notice that when The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend were talking at the table, the background music was the same as the music on My Gym Partner's a Monkey when the geeky animals are on screen? It's the exact same music except it was a bit different.

The whole Monarch-humping-the-robot thing I think is a play on the concept passed down from ancient times that raping someone shows your dominance over them. Check out "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" vol. 2. Basically the Monarch is saying "I can hump you because I'm better then you".

Well this one was hilarious as the Monarch definitely shows us why he's not arching Dr. Venture (Thaddeus) and Dr. Dugong wasn't a walrus or a seal.. he's a hairless Pink Aquatic Naked Mole Rat known as a Manatee (Or Sea Cow):

http://www.goddardscuba.com/Schedule/manatee.jpg
I'm Dr. Dugong's Brother, Chuck...

Now as for the rest of the story.. Dang Monarch is really hard up for Dr Venture isn't he? Also it's funny that we get to see Dr. Girlfriend in both the New costume and the old one (With white panties...)

But then Dermitt is back and is he really Brock Sampson's son? or is he just saying that to make it look good

Eddie and the Cruisers and Mr. Roboto (Styx) = 80's gold..

and The Monarch does Guard-O and tries to give it an STD = Platinum...

but in the end this episode fell a bit short. I personally blame the fact that Dr. Venture and/or Brock weren't in it, but eh, H.E.L.P.E.R stuck in that lame tonal loop gave me a headache..

Though the nice touch with the Moppets really does help.

All in all a little bit better than average but not as good as last week.. I give this one 3 out of 5 stars..

I shudder to think what will happen when Jonas Jr. Has to deal with The Monarch.. At least he gets some decent Henching in...

I'd like to see more development regarding Hank and his misconception of his own immortality. Since the characters are shown to be capable of evolving, there has to come a time when (hopefully) the boys will realize they've actually died 14 times, just to have the 'button reset' at age 16...

I dunno is this has been brought up before, but.. what happens when only one of the boys die?? Does Brock kill the other one so they both reset with the same memories? Hard to believe due to Brock's obvious affection for the boys. If you guys remember the beginning of season 2 where Rusty goes over with Dr. Orpheus the 14 times that the boys have 'died', there were actually *two* times where you only see Hank die but not Dean. One where they're playing football and a falling satellite lands on Hank and in the other scene, Hank tries falling off a building with an umbrella and Dean is on the ground to see the "splat". So what happens to Dean and his memories of his brother dying? Some of this stuff needs to be explained.

You know, after watching this episode a second time there's something that still doesnt make sense to me. Why was HELPER making that beeping sound and why did it shut down all the Venture Compounds power when Dean tried to get him to stop? I don't think that was ever solved in the episode. If it was I missed it.

Dean was trying to get H.E.L.P.E.R. to stop playing that synthesized percussion mix, but since H.E.L.P.E.R. controls all of the electronics in the compound, Dean managed to shut down everything but the drum mix.

HELPER controls all the electronics in the compound? I don't remember them saying that in the episode or in any previous episodes, but I'll buy that. But that still doesn't answer the question why was he playing that synthesized percussion mix? Hank said he didn't do it, just took advantage of it (or atleast thats how I understood it). I originally thought it was some kind of weird warning siren that would play out later in the episode, but it never did. Usually Venture Bros. is good in explaining things like this.

I'm not exactly sure what to think of this ep. I'll make a few comments.

1. I think the boys making their own band was a great idea. Although, I felt the robot's "drumming" would give me a king-sized headache!:p

2. I felt the Monarch sliding down that tunnel looked like fun!:D

3. The Monarch "doing it" with the robot was very disturbing! :ack: At least, I didn't see anything I didn't want to see!

4. Best part: Dr. Girfriend's "new" outfit! I thought she looked gorgeous!!!;) :anime: Just one thing, why did she sound like she had a tremendous sore throat?

Dr. Girlfriend (or Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, to give her current name) has always sounded like that; her 'manly' voice is a running gag throughout the show.

I'm guessing you're new to the series.

Hey, let's see Jonas Venture Jr. interact with Dr. Mrs The Monarch first before stating that (I do note that he seems to have at least maintained a solid relationship with the former Mrs. Impossible. Let's see if that's tested during they're encounter. I mean when thinking about it, The Monarch arching Jonas Venture Jr sounds like an awesome full episode alone with how much interaction you could have. I'd love to see that. Probably won't but if the writers did that I would defintley buy the season 3 DVD just to own that).

True but Orpheus does always have a tendency to want to get involved more then he should. Unless he was busy doing Trio buisness or something. Which I'm sure he would be. Afterall if he was there I'm sure Doc Venture would of asked him to make sure the boys don't get into trouble (or at least don't break or ruin anything).

I have a feeling Brock and Doc stick the brother who didn't die into the learn everything beds as well and slightly reprogram they're memories not to remember the other one dying. I mean in "Viva Los Muetros" it was being used to try and brainwash Venturestein so I'm sure it has those mind overriding capabilities if programmed specifically for that. Part of me also wants to say that they could use the whole "clone thing" as an excuse for some of character personality lapses of Hank and Dean in some of the eps (like Dean bragging to Trianna about Brock killing in "Eenie Minnie Magic" and then trying to deny Brock actually killed anyone in "Present Tense").

Well it's not totally new since we've seen it before in "The Buddy System". As for the whole manly voice thing, well that's because she's voiced by Doc Hammer, co creator of the Venture Brothers. The voice is actually something joked around by some of the characters over the course of the series (in "Tag Sale You're It" ep Billy Quizboy said he heard she had a baboon's urethera and in "Hate Floats" Brock asked if she was even a full woman) but it was revealed in "Home Is Where The Hate Is" that Dr. Girlfriend (Aka Dr. Mrs Monarch) has such a deep voice because she's been an avid smoker for years which severly damaged her vocal chords.

From the clips that Adult Swim has shown of it (though shrunken down) I have a feeling it will be an ep that Jackson Publick alluded to in his live journal about having a big 30 person brawl break out among the characters that was hard to stage. I also think it will be the ep that was originally previewed in the Season Three preview that has some sort of Billy Quizboy/Dr. Venture scene and a scene where Brock tries actually quitting being Venture's nanny or something. Don't know why but it's already two thirds the way through the season and we still haven't gotten that ep so why not have that be next week's? Guess we'll find out for sure on the Fix in two days though.
