I know that Bruce Timm has mentioned what he'd like to do with a second season of JL, and I know that we all like to hope that there will be one -- but has Cartoon Network officially picked it up for another season? If so, is it for another 26 episodes?

It was officially confirmed, in December I think. If you've got a lot of time on your hands you can scroll back in the board and find the post Jim Harvey (formerly Dick Grayson) made.

I don't think there has been any official announcent, yet.
There was a news article in December saying that an announcement about a second season was expected in January, but that announcement never came.
And the thread from above says that an announcement was expected as far back as Novemeber (otherwise, the only other conversation on that thread is about what people would like to see in a second season).
With the good ratings the show is pulling in, it seems all but official. However I'm starting to wonder. A greenlight for a second season needs to be announced soon. Scripts for an upcoming season would have to start rolling in right about now in order for the voice actors to be recorded by late March/April and sent overseas for animation.
Jim Harvey is the guy in the know, though. Maybe he has heard something else.

What?
I didn't know there was any doubt there would be a Season 2!!! I'd be severly pissed if Justice League didn't get at LEAST three Seasons (for a total of 78 episodes) and I'd be happy if Justice League finished with a minimum of five Seasons (for a total of 130 episodes)!!!
If Justice League got cancelled before the end of Season 3 (at the very least!), I'd be very depressed. This is the only TV show I actually look forward to every week!
Please, please Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network, give us at LEAST three Seasons of Justice League! :(

Word from Bruce Timm himself is that they are THIS close to getting approved. Just some red tape to go through. Stay tuned for updates.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I really hope it's at least another 26 episodes.
While I'm asking questions -- the recent article about Paul Dini developing a new Duck Dodgers series makes it sound like he'll have little time for JL. Anyone know if the Dini/Timm 'feud' has ended or have they at least called a truce? I really want a couple of good Paul Dini-scripted episodes.

Well one thing is certain...that show will have better plots than JL. Jim Harvey--why don't you try and get an interview with Dini and get his take on JL?

LOL!
Why don't we ask Dini to try smuggling Osama into the US, while we're asking him to undertake delicate and dangerous missions? :D
