I'd like to see Knightfall. Since I hate Azrael I wouldn't even mind if they altered the story to make Nightwing the Bat.

The Last Laugh was a horrible comic story but I think it would make a great Justice League mini.

The Killing Joke. Who needs Barbara Gordon walking when she is more important as the eyes of Gotham.

Minus Hugo Strange the story in LOTDK with Scarecrow and Catwoman was good.

There's some now go on with more.

I would also like to see the Knightfall/Knightquest/KnightsEnd saga. I would like to see Azrael, Azbats, a taller Tim Drake-Robin, Batman getting his ass kicked by Bane, and especially Knightfall Part 9 when Batman goes bonkers on Joker.
In addition I would like to see Cataclysm, Contagion, and NML.

Knightfall definetly. Bane and Azrael/Azbats when he was good. How could you not love it? :D

They could skip the KnightQuest and KnightsEnd bits and go directly to Prodigal. Too bad that means we wouldn't get a Tally Man, unless they altered things around a bit..

I think Emperor Joker would work better as a JL story.

My pic? Um... can't decide, too many.

I would like to see the Long Halloween, and Batman Year One in animated format. However, the violence and shock content may be too much for some viewers. It would be cool to see the animated versions of the Maroni's and and the Falcone's.

The Dark Knight Returns in it's entirety along with most of what was mentioned above.

A story with Deadman or Anarchy.

Long Halloween and Kingdom Come are both good ideas. What about Dark Victory? The Knightfall Saga was good but recent years have totally destroyed the Azreal character. Not that he was ever really that decent of a character.

Thats what I was gunna say. I absolutely LOVED that and it would be a great superman focused JL episode.

I definitely either say Kingdom Come or Amalgam. :D

That was a powerful Joker story. Just look at how it changed Superman's life. I really think they could make it a JL story. Then when you think about how cool it would be you quickly realize it would never happen. That show needs something and the Joker is that something. Nothing but Joker. Who needs the rest of the Injustice Gang holding him back?

Yah man, some of us who haven't read all of these stories have no idea what they're about.

I think it would be quite interesting to see NML or even the Killing Joke, or a part of it, brought into the animated continuity. But, some things are better left where they are...

I've been saying it for year's that Joker should cripple Barbara Gordon in the animated world. Look at my avatar of the day for Barbara's replacement.

Yeah, I agree with the Killing Joke... that would be an awesome story to convert and animate.

I've said before, I think it would be a great idea to show Barb in a wheelchair... and to show how it happened. It's a story, I think, that is heart-felt and touching and it adds so much dramatic irony to the world of Batman.

Kingdom Come

I'd rather see a live action Kingdom Come, but, in animation, How about

"Armageddon: 2001"

Title would have to be changed since it's passed 2001 now but it would still be an ausome storyline.

What was Armageddon: 2001 about?

Was that the WWIII storyline with Mageddon?

In the animated world didn't this take place in 2011 with Ra's Al Ghul? That would probably be where they set the story

Batman keeps secret files detailing plans to take down every member of the JLA, in case any one of them ever goes rogue, but he doesn't tell anyone about them. They fall into the hands of Ra's al Ghul, who systematically implements every plan. Very good story.

I'll do a brief rundown of Emperor J. Basically Mxyzptlyk (the spelling is always in doubt with me so bear with me ;) ) Decides it would be amusing to give the joker a small fraction of his powers and see what he does. But Joker tricks him and ends up taking the vast majority of his powers leaving Mxy with the small fraction. So joker pretty much becomes God and all of earth and eventually the universe falls under his rule. Superman is the only one who manages to break free of Joker's influence (he kinds of makes all the heroes think they're the bad guys, Except for Batman who he has far worse things in mind for.) And Superman basically has to stop Joker and his minions with a little help from a few others in the messed up jokerized version of reality. Other than that I would hate to ruin some of the fun little surprises. I found it to be excellent but maybe thats just cuz im a joker fanatic :D .

Does no one like The Long Halloween....?

All of your ideas are great ones. My favourites would be:

KNIGHTFALL - but replace some of the "lame" villains like Amygdala with some of the cooler villains from the animated. World. The basic story would be the same, but just change a few things, such as the villains Batman hunts down after the big break-out.

NO MAN'S LAND. CATACLYSM could probably be wrapped up in about 2-3 episodes, ROAD TO NO MAN'S LAND should be rewritten, and then spend an entire season (25 episodes) dishing out NO MAN'S LAND - but only the WELL-WRITTEN and VITAL stories! (The issues that appeared in the five NML trade paperbacks will be fine).

THE KILLING JOKE should be an animated movie.

THE LONG HALLOWEEN and DARK VICTORY should be animated films, too.

What about the TWO-FACE: CRIME AND PUNISHMENT and MR. FREEZE one-shots?

The LOTDK "Terror" story from last year would be terrific, too.

Hell, I'd just like to see a lot of the animated comics be translated into episodes!

-Tim

PS - I wanna write some episodes myself - but some dreams never come true. *SIGH*

I'm not sure if No Man's Land could be done on an animted show. The whole thing with kids may cause it to be watered down

And the same thing woudln't happen w/ Knightfall? What Bane did to Batsy was pretty friggin' brutal. :)

Yeah but a beating isn't the same as eating a family pet you know? Then there's Joker shooting Huntress a bunch, the church story with Scarecrow, Joker standing over Sarah's body which is bleeding a red river towards several babies. I don't think that would make the censors for a cartoon

Thanks Terminatah and Dark Knight! Now all I need to know about is Long Halloween and Superman for All Seasons. Here's a rundown for 'ya.

Batman the Long Halloween: a few months have passed since the end of Batman Year 1, and the Falcone crime family still dominates Gotham City. Batman, CAPTAIN James Gordon, and District attorney Harvey Dent all make a pact to take down Carmine "The Roman" Falcone and his mob industry the night of the Roman's nephew's wedding. Soon, gangsters connected to the Roman are all being murdered, and Batman, Gordon, and Dent have a year to pick up the pieces to "the Long Halloween"...a murder mystery spanning two Octobers, a stack of bodies in the morgue, and dozens of Batman's most villainous foes, including The Joker, Catwoman, The Riddler, The Mad Hatter, and Scarecrow.

Superman For All Seasons: a nostalgic journey back to Smallville Kansas, and the beginnings of a legendary hero's growth from boy, to man, to...Superman! details the beginnings of Clark's journey from Smallville, to the big ultramodern city of Metropolis, to conquering the first traps set by his arch-foe, Lex Luthor. Along the way, Clark learns what it takes to be a true hero.

Inappropriate subject matter isn't the only problem with bringing these comics to the animated world. There's continuity. The Killing Joke would contradict Return of the Joker, for example.

Batman Beyond = Elseworld Besides I'm sure Justice League is doing the same. Wait didn't Static Shock already do the same?
