I heard that there are instances that Nintendo won't repair a DS for free under warranty even if it's not your fault. What are those instances?
If background is needed on the problem I had, just tell me.

If you opened up your DS, you're not covered under warranty.

you'll have to be more specific about the problem. i know a while ago, if you got a crack in your ds lite hinge, nintendo fixed it for free, but they don't anymore
if your wii won't play the smash bros brawl disc they'll fix the wii for free
just a couple instances i know of

Some cosmetic problems I think.
My first DS had a small crack on the top shell and Nintendo told me to just deal with it unless the DS crapped out on me.
If you have a screwy DS, just call Nintendo. Who cares if they reject your claim.

Weeeeeeeeeeell...I got the problem solved...sorta.
Nintendo said the lines on the top screen were due to some sort of impact to the DS. All I did between the 2:15 and 9:45 p.m that day was put it in my front pocket in sleep mode, ride in an air conditioned car, get out of the car, go in the house, put it on the computer desk, open it back up to see lines on the top screen.
The repair is $50. And...I sadly have to take my copy of TWEWY back to the store to be rebought after my DS is fixed to afford the repair. :(
P.S. - Internet problems prevented me from posting this as early as I would've liked.
