Episode 44: Camp Magic Pants / Worked Stiff
Tonight @ 8:30 PM
I never managed to watch the commercial for this episode, so I have no idea what it's about, but I'll be sure to post my thoughts in full once I watch the episode later tonight. On another note, we're nearly halfway through the second season.

I’m not really sure what I think about these episodes. “Camp Magic Pants” seemed quite rushed, especially once Yuck revealed himself, and I didn’t care that much about the Harry Potter parody. I did like seeing Yin be mischievous, and once again being tainted with some degree of evil, but it all seemed somewhat odd. Yin has used her magic for mischief in previous episodes to no consequence, and the way that she suddenly turned back to normal after touching the pants perplexed me. Perhaps the pants absorbed the “naughtiness”, as the episode called it, but it seemed like a forced plot device to me.

I thought that “Worked Stiff” was a more enjoyable episode; I liked how they brought back Mangatopia Land, as that was first seen in season one and it was fitting that Smoke and Mirrors used it in one of their plans. I did find the jokes about Yang being the sole cause of problems in the dojo to be somewhat unnecessary, as many episodes have proven that Yin can be just as problematic as Yang; perhaps I’m making a mountain out of a molehill, but I don’t like either character being blamed for everything.

I guess I don’t really know of anything else to say. These episodes weren’t bad, per se, but I didn’t enjoy them as much as many of the other episodes this season. Maybe I’ll like them more the next time I watch them.

Yin and Yo and preach all they want, but Yang has yet to actually turn evil compared to them. I totally saw the the Smoke and Mirrors thing coming when the speaking started talking, yeesh that was kind of irritating. Whats up with Mirrors anyway? Lets them fight it out and then runs away when his side loses?

Both of these eps were really good. And it's kind of funny that in "worked stiff", smoke said that she wanted to be a monkey, and then in "dance dance devastastion" her voice actor voiced the dancing monkey. Seriously, theyve been doing a lot of stuff like that this season! (ex. "party favors", the building said 13, and frped came back in the 13th episode, in "deja foo" coop's name was written on the wall, and he was the main character of the next episode, and now this one)
