This basically explains the whole situation: http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/childs-garden-of-sit-down-shut-up.html

Basically, a Sony exec told the writers that they could be under a WGA contract, but it turns out that wasn't the case. It doesn't look like it'll be resolved soon and the show could be shut down before it even airs. Sad, since people will be out of jobs.

Maybe we should've gotten The Pitts instead.

Maybe we should've gotten The Pitts instead.Ugh, don't even joke about that.

Although I had to laugh when I saw this in the comments:

Who needs the writers, ANYway? Why not just let the storyboard artists write the shows? They tend to do it anyway.

And as far as the term "writers," you might well consider renaming them "typers."Sigh.

... NO. That show was cancelled in the first place for a reason.

And things are now looking better for the show! Siddown, Shaddup, the Resolution? (http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/siddown-shaddup-resolution.html)
I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, since I don't really know the premise. I know it takes place in a high school, but that's about it.

It's a show utilizing the creator of Arrested Development, as well as several of the actors. It also had Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein (Simpsons showrunners of season 7 and 8 as well as writers since season 4, and the creators of Mission Hill) running the show.

Needless to say, there was a lot of excitement.

Looks like the show will continue after all. (http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/indecision-is-over.html)

A compromise was met with the studio and writers.

Phew. Good thing, too, because this could've made for horrible press for Sony...
