I mean, have you ever dressed up as a character for a convention, a party, or just a special event? This means anything animated, like comics, anime, X-Men, Batman...anything.
I once went to an anime convention in what I believe was the world's cheapest cos-play outfit: a grey blazer, dress slacks, and a home-made badge that said Ground Investigation Bureau on it. I also drew a little glyph on my forehead with eyeliner. I was supposed to be a Tipharean from the comic Battle Angel Alita, but only two people knew what I was and that was because I confronted them on what they were supposed to be.
What about you guys?

I have a very popular 'Wolfwood'(Trigun) cosplay suit. I've been told that I look just like him. :D Funny story with that...at one time I got so obsessed with making my 'wolfwood' so perfect, I threatened to build myself a giant cross-gun, and wrap it up in blankets, & carry it around whenever I go to conventions & whatnot. :p Of course, I never did...I just stole a light-weight cross from a church, & wrapped it up..works just the same! :D :p

I do I do I do!!! well, I did *sobs*. Cosplaying is so much fun!!! My other anime friends are very in to it, they've gone it costumes for every Anime Expo they've ever gone to. My first year I was Merle from Escalfowne, everyone absolutely loved my outfit, and posing for pics was so great! The second year I didn't do anything *sobs*. The third year I went as Kidd from Chrono Cross. Everyone said I really looked like her, and posing for pics was even better...even though I almost went blind with so many flashes. And this year I had really planned on going as Duo from Gundam Wing, but alas, I'm just too busy. I've gotten really back into the Batman thing, and preparing for college, and my sister's wedding, it's just too much stuff for poor Anime to compete with...man, that's really depressing *sweatdrop*. I have always wanted to dress up as Bargirl for a comic con, but have yet to do so. Anyone done one of those?

I'd like to very much, but there are reasons:
1 - I don't live anywhere near any anime conventions :(
2 - I don't know how to sew
3 - Even if I did, I don't know what anime character I look most like. I'd want to look as realistic as possible by resembling a character.

Cool avatar, JustJack!! I love that Shadow Play Akio pic! And I also saw a guy at a Con dressed as Wolfwood (I just love that guy) with a big giant cross wrapped in canvas with belts. I didn't realize who he was till we went to the 24 hour theatre and watched anime...then it got to Trigun and everyone burst out in hoots and shouts when Wolfwood broke out the cross!
I plan to go cos-playing next Kon as Lain (see the avatar) because I just cut my hair and realized the other day I looked like her. I also plan to go as Gally from Battle Angel once my hair grows out. If I could cos-play as anyone, I'd go as Miki Kaoru from the Utena Movie with his complex student council uniform. My best friend is growing out her hair so she can dye it orange and go as Juri!
The coolest cosplay costume I ever saw was a kid dressed up as Maiotismon from Digimon. He was so cool, and he got all the babes, too!
