and...I'm screaming it from the rooftops!

But I'm a little low on money! So I can only buy two games!

The games I had my eyes set on are:

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wii Play
Warioware: Smooth Movies

So what should I get, and reasons why?

Buy Brawl twice.

Because it's awesome. And you can give me a copy.

Well, I saw that Super Monkey Ball game in the "bargain bin" at my local Gamestop this evening, so if you look around you might find it for a decent price.

If you think it will be awhile before you can buy another game, then Brawl would be good because there's plenty of unlockable stuff to keep you busy in that game. I've had it for a couple months and I've still got things I can do on it. I don't have Galaxy yet, but my most recent Nintendo Power ranked it as the best Wii game thus far (the remainder of the top 5 consisted of Twilight Princess, Brawl, Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Kart Wii) so that game is probably a safe bet as well.

You don't have it listed, but I'd also recommend Mario Kart Wii. If you were ever a kart fan, then the online mode alone would be worth your while.

EDIT: I removed my comments about Wii Fit because I just realized that you listed Wii Play, not Wii Fit. Yup, I can read..... ;)

Hmm... I'd buy Brawl and Galaxy. Brawl is a great party game, and just plain fun. Galaxy, on the other hand, is a FANTASTIC single-player platformer; the best since Super Mario 64, if reviewers are to be believed... in fact, Game Rankings has it as the 3rd Best Game of all time.

So, yeah. Those.

Ideally, Super Mario Galaxy and Brawl. Brawl is the fighter for the system, and Galaxy is by far the best platformer.

That said, Wii Play is basically a Wiimote with a few minigames included. If you have one Wiimote and want to be able to include a second player, Wii Play should be one of your purchases. So if multiplayer matters to you, get Wii Play and Brawl.

Brawl and Galaxy. One of the best multiplayer games out there along with the best 3D Mario ever.

Mario Kart Wii....really fun and addictive, plus there's lots of things to unlock (certain characters, vehicles, and tracks)...

Super Smash Bros Brawl....Another fun game with alot of different characters...Plus,in addition to regular brawls, there's also a Story mode...

Out of those, I definitely recommend Brawl and Galaxy. Those are great games which will keep you busy for a long time. I don't know if you're into Mario Kart, but if you are, you should also consider Mario Kart Wii. And don't get Wii Play unless you want an extra wiimote.

Some different stuff would be

No More Heroes - Comical and violent
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - Its like House of the Dead, but cooler, why speaking of the devil
House of the Dead 2 and 3 - Its pretty fun and pretty cheap. Light gun games FTW.
Okami - Its a lot like Zelda, but honestly, better and longer with a lot more to do.
Castle Shikigami 3 - Like ol' skool shoot 'em ups? Its a part of a genre called bullet hell, meaning...there is a lot of bullets. But its really fun, and not too bad on price either.
Geometry Wars - Just buy this. Its Astroids on acid, and that doesn't even begin to describe how awesome this game really is.
Mario Kart - if you can find it. Its damn near impossbile right now. But it does have the best online experiance on the Wii, kind of sad, but its a really good game.

You're so lucky that you have a Wii. I would so love to get one of those systems just for Brawl alone. While I haven't played the game, I'm sure that going with Brawl is a good choice. I have heard nothing but good reviews for that game. Besides that, I personally think that the graphics I've seen in the pictures are pretty cool.

It seems like everyone thinks Brawl and Galaxy are good choices.
I do really want Brawl. Smash Bros. is never not fun, and it'll give me a chance to get better at it using the Wiimote and nunchuck.

Galaxy looks like a ton of fun, but every time I've tried it out, I always got frustrated with the game controls. I'll rent it first, so I can give the game one more try.

And I completly forgot about putting Mario Kart Wii on the list. I love Mario Kart, but the reason I took it off the list because the game's more fun with more players, and I don't have anyone to play it with, not to mention no extra Wiimote or internet connection.

I got mine at Radio Shack pretty easily. Unlike other stores, they told me when they get their shipment, they don't sell out within an hour, and they even put it on hold for me!

My local Radio Shack apparently stows them away in the back.
I got the last Wii they had.

I don't know if it's different elsewhere, but they usually get their shipment of Wiis on Tuesday and Friday.

I prefer Brawl and Smooth Moves. Brawl to join in on the fun we have here, and Smooth Moves since it is fun at Parties and had a blast with it when it came out.

For Titles not on the List I recommend They are "No More Heroes" for it over the Top Violence, tounge-in-cheek humor and subtle themes. "Zack and Wiki" for it fun "Point and Click" adventure, a thing that I expected to be on the Wii more than any other titles. Capcom does seem to know what they are doing with Wii Games BTW. I could go on with various titles and such, but I'm afraid of giving you so many option that I overflow with and sort of disregard my post.

I must be the only Wii owner who isn't compelled to add Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl to my collection. Though something tells me that there's just that sliiiiiiight possibility that I might end up getting SMG. I haven't really played and owned any game since Super Mario 64 (yes it has been THAT long), and here I am contemplating getting New Super Mario Bros.

I'm not big on those kind of games, especially games with a lot of violence.

Okay then, Don't ask me to write a story for you or sit next to me in a movie theater then. Or get your hands on a modded or foriegn Wii that Plays European or Japanese games since over there "No More Heroes" is censored.

Well If you consider something like Twilight Princess, please for all that is good, pick up "One Piece: Unlimited Adventure" it is actually a pretty decent title, especially for something that is licensed game based on a Comic book/Manga/Cartoon/Anime, do you know how rare that is in general for most games, unless you're not a fan of One Piece.

Well I do like Galaxy, but since I like RPG, I sort of like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Also MegaMan X and I appear to be the minority on this forum that liked and enjoyed Super Paper Mario for what it was worth.

Galaxy is the best Mario game-- heck, quite possibly the best GAME-- I've played since Super Mario Bros. 3. If you've already given it its fair shot and you feel different, well, that's your prerogative, but that's my opinion.

Brawl is quite good, but only if you regularly have people to play it with. The single-player is just plain not all it's cracked up to be.

A much-overlooked gem is Excite Truck, a very fun motion-controlled racer. The graphics are kinda fugly and it's a bit lacking in variety, but it's also very very cheap nowadays, so it's definitely worth tracking down a used copy.

No More Heroes is a great way to desensitize you. Violence will lose all meaning after just the tutorial. God, I can't even begin to describe how awesome it is.

Of course, I'm a fan of the ultra violence. And I know its not everyone's cup of tea. But I'm just saying.

Oh, I totally forgot about Fire Emblem. Like Daxdiv said, its an awesome strategy RPG.

Oh, it's just fine, especially compared to most multiplayer-centered games. As long as you don't expect the Subspace Emissary to have Zelda-level depth, you'll be more than happy.

And don't get Wii Play unless you need the extra controller; Wii Sports is much more fun and you already have it. Mario Kart, Zelda, and Galaxy are all good choices, and I like what I've played of Super Paper Mario, though I haven't gotten back to it in awhile.

You gotta get Galaxy, Brawl and Mario Kart Wii but other than that it really depends on your tastes.

I'd actually highly recommend One Piece: Unlimited Adventure because besides being a pretty good fighting game it's also an adventure game that can take 70 hours to complete. That's a lot of reply value for an anime based game. Give it a rent at least (if you can even find it).

Zelda and Metroid can't do you wrong either... but I don't have either actually.

If you don't have Guitar Hero or Rockband for another system then the Wii versions are worth having. If you can get them for other systems... then do that.

Super Paper Mario is pretty good and a rather offbeat game which most Mario game fans should find amusing.

Mario Party is well... great for parties. But not much else.

Excite Truck is worth a rent or a cheap purchase because it's fun and easy enough but still rather challenging and it's the only game thus far that lets you play your own music from an SD card.

And I don't know personally but I hear good things about Boom Blox and No More Heroes.

I agree with Excite Truck. I managed to grab that game cheap near launch and don't regret it. (Partially because it's STILL full price around here...)

Going through your list, here are my evaluations:

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Have it, but haven't played it much yet. Some of the minigames, carried over from the previous incarnation, should provide hours of fun. Others seem unbelievably stupid. But there are so many of them that I guess they can't all be winners.

Super Mario Galaxy
I started playing this a few weeks ago and so far, it's great. It's also by far the best-looking Wii game out there, showing a distinct advantage over Gamecube's graphics.

Super Paper Mario
Not quite the 2D platformer revolution I was hoping for, but it's definitely a lot of fun. Some parts of the game are needlessly frustrating and repetitive, though. But it usually makes up for it with some great moments.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Definitely a great multiplayer game with a good (and VERY long) single-player mode, but keep in mind that it's best played with a Gamecube controller. The Wiimote+nunchuk combination is fun for a while, but it lacks the precision of a gamepad which is quite necessary, especially for the single-player stuff which can be challenging. But there's a lot of bang for your buck here in terms of sheer content. It's huge.

Wii Play
An extra Wiimote plus $10 of cheapo minigames. I would certainly not pay more than $10 for them, but you'll probably get enough enjoyment out of them to justify the purchase.

Warioware: Smooth Moves
Definitely recommended. It's the most innovative use of the Wiimote so far, and it's right up there with Wii Sports as a product that shows off what the Wii is capable of in terms of controls. You can also unlock a few nice minigames, such as a 3D version of Balloon Fight. Keep in mind, though, that the best multiplayer Warioware experience is still Gamecube's Warioware Mega Party Games. This one has some unlockable multiplayer modes, but nothing as extensive as Gamecube's.

The Wii "must have" list is pretty straight shooting, like all of Nintendo's consoles! :p

-Super Mario Galaxy
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Metroid Prime 3
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl
-Mario Kart Wii
-Super Paper Mario

-Okami
-Bully: Scholarship Edition
-No More Heroes
-Dragon Quest Swords
-Castlevania: Judgement

-Wii Fit
-Wii Play

... Of course, there are also hundreds of classic NES, Super NES, N64, and Sega Genesis games you'll want to download on your Virtual Console, too!

And, as popular as the Wii is, after a few more years this list will quadruple in size.

*in development... But how can you go wrong with a Castlevania game on a Nintendo console? ;)

P.S. - Don't forget that the Wii also plays GameCube games too! So any GameCube game you see in stores that you want, you can play on the Wii too... provided that you have a GameCube controller and GameCube memory card handy.

i could list every game in my library, but instead i'm going to list the 3 "must have" games that i deem worthy

1. zack and wiki. i can't sing this game's praises high enough, and i've sung them pretty high. a fun puzzler if you're into that sort of thing with pirate hijinks tossed in. sort of reminds me of the old "maniac mansion", but with wii remote sensing capabilities

2. mariokart. online is where it's at. single player is fun, but cheap AI can get repetitive. play it online. you'll be glad you did

3. super mario galaxy. i place it below sunshine and above 64 as far as "fun level" is concerned, but there's something gratifying about hitting bowser and sending him spinning around a planet

Try to check out these:

- Sonic and The Secret Rings -

If you're a Sonic fan you should defenately look into Secret Rings. It really is SEGA's first step in the right direction for future Sonic games in terms of gameplay. The levels are very fast paced just as they should be in a Sonic game, and Sonic is the only playable character. The only gripe I have with this game is you don't really have much freedom. The game is pretty much set on rails, and Sonic is constantly moving. Other than that the Secret Rings is a blast and is 10x better than that Sonic '06 crapfest on 360 and PS3. Can't wait for Sonic Unleashed!

- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition -

If you already played this on the GC or PS2, you might want to sit this one out. But RE4 is a lot more fun with the Wii remote and nunchuck.

- Tomb Raider: Anniversary -

Personally I feel its the best version of the game. I liked using the remote as a gun and flash light, and I liked using the nunchuck as a grapple. Pick this one up out of other versions if you haven't played the game yet.

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl -
Pretty much speaks for itself.

- Rock Band -

Chances are you already have RB on another console, if you do ignore this. If you don't, get it for Wii, but if you have a 360, I'd strongly recomend it for that then.

Honorable Mentions:
- Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games
- Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
- Metroid Prime 3
- Mario Strikers
- No More Heroes
- Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 & 2
- Trauma Center 1 & 2

Can't really think of anything else, but then again I haven't really gotten anything new for awhile since I've been short on cash.
