Why didn't they put Gundam Wing uncut on ASA? It was the most adult show on Toonami, and it would have been one of the most adult shows on the block.

It seems like they've been trying to ignore Gundam Wing ever since the UC Gundam shows started to air. My guess is hat they're trying to avoid any more of the AU/UC confusion that would be caused by airing GW and 0083 at the same time.

LoL, I don't think so. the only reason its more mature than many of the shows shown on AS/Toonami to this point is because AS hasn't been around that long. Putting on Gundam Wing would be taking a step backwards, one that we wouldn't want them to do even more, would we? :(

The show got played over a dozen times on the afternoon block, midnight run and rising sun. Enough's enough already. It got a good long run, and now its retired.

Well, I assume he meant as opposed to showing Y7 Tenchi or OS (two shoes that were overplayed just as much as, if not more than, GW).

Ah well, who knows the real reason they chose OS and Tenchi over Big O and GW?

just having two gundams on the block would be too much for adult swim specially with it being so young i mean how many people complain that all toonami is, is a dragonball block. i think they put tenchi up there just to intice uniformed people to watch it on AS just in case it was not edited as bad would be cool if big O was on i never got a chance to see the whole season

I think both Sheamon and kachuke are right. There are already two mecha shows on AS, and Gundam Wing would make it three. Also, GW had a good run. Its my favorite show from toonami ever and even I am willing to let it rest.

Tenchi and OS are just temporary filler anyway aren't they? Someday they will be replaced with new stuff.

Wow, I didn't know it was run so many times. I only saw the end of the series on midnight run.

Endless Waltz is sorta like an epilouge to the series to wrap things up and conclude the storyline. Sorta like Return of the Joker almost. :wakko:

...and it aired for a few runs on TMR uncut.

Tyler is right. There were two dubs shown on Cartoon Network: the very edited one shown during the day and the Midnight Run version which kept the stronger language (damn, hell, kill, etc.) and a good portion of the blood & violence (though from what I understand, it's not fully uncut).

Yep. To be exact, Endless Waltz takes place one year after Gundam Wing ends.

....most otaku feel Gundam: Wing was the weak, odd thumb from the Gundam Universe. Everything
from the designs of the mech, to the peeps themselves, it's almost always made fun of, criticized for
just being Gundam: Wing, and it's length was unpopular. The reason for this is, well, it is different,
and the manga is a much darker work. I guess alot of otaku felt cheated out of a few plot twists and
character personalities(some things are hinted at in the series), twisted stuff, man, good times:) that
they chose not to write into the anime. Let's just say, children serial killers or something.

...and of course the original dialouge version's there! Just don't buy the CN edited TAPES for kids.
The Japanese language track is to drool for, the wording and good translation make nice differences
to notice between the two versions, et cetra, et cetra. But, Wing has left the building. It may be cool
if it were to come on by itself, overnight or something. But the Gundam we want to see on Adult
Swim is GundamX! I don't like the whole splitting up of the Gundam movies, like 0080 & 0083,
and of course poor 08th Team was butchered! Nice butcher job, but butchered!

BTW, there's lots of red, white, and blue up in Wing, what's up with that:rolleyes:? Coincidence? I
don't think so:).......

0080 and 0083 aren't movies. There is a movie verson of 0083, but CN is showing the full 13-episodes OVA version.

The original Gundam's color-scheme was red, white, blue and yellow. The main gundam in every single Gundam series since then (most of them, anyway), has also been colored red, white, blue, and yellow.

i personally love Gundam Wing , as it turned me on to Gundam itself. i am aware fo the whole US/AC thing, so im not confuzed. I think the designs in Wing are really cool and Endless Waltz is a great movie and a great epilogue to the series. I cureently own it on DVD. :D i dont really knwo why it is critisized so muhc, i think its a decent anime. i cnat stand the original MS Gundam form liek the 70s though , maybe jsut the way tis done pisses me off, but i dont liek the old-school look. 08th MS team was cool too , but i never got to watch it all b/c of time issues. what do u guys think about 08th MS Team>?

I like me some Gundam Wing, too. It is addictive in a special fashion. Patriotic looking, too:p.

So 13 weeks is a "temporary" thing? I bet the nonsupporters are loving that! I didn't realize they
were showing an OVA, I only saw as much as the opening credits, & I thought I saw it say 'movie',
lol!

0080 was alright, I didn't see all of that, but I thought it was shorter(like 2, 3 days short). As for
08th Team, or 8th Team(whatever?), it's my favorite old-type Gundam series. The classic Gundams
tearing into each other and perhaps the cleanest animation in the Gundam Universe. The DVDs, are
beautiful. I just like it when they're cold.......

I would like to point out that Wing didnt get a FULL run on the Rising Sun i think they switch the schedule after the 14th episode.

while were on the topic of a cut toonami show airing uncut on ASA (or ASC), let me point out that the over-played, yet still watched DBZ has been dubbed both cut and uncut. I havent bought the DVDs (who wood, knowing that they still might be cut in sum parts), but I bet that if CN wanted to, they could air DBZ Uncut at TV-14, but the problem is that it would bring the incredibly large kiddy fanbase with it, just bringing angry phone calls from parents. I would still like to see DBZ uncut tho, without having to spend hundreds of dollars on all 200-sumthing episodes.

I realy like Gundam Wing and wouldn't mind seing air uncut on ASA . But I think they should give other shows a chance right now then after they run those show maybe they can run GW uncut again.

I'd much rather see Big O, really. They might actually have a chance of getting it finished before they accquire something else.

Personally, I never liked Gundam Wing. While the "uncut" version may be more "adult" than, oh, let's say Pilot Candidate, it's still woefully overplayed and, well, old. At least by CN standards. ASA needs more new shows, not old Toonami stuff as filler. It has too much of that already.

Big O.... no never liked that show one bit since i first saw it. The god dern robots arms are soo much bigger then the rest of the robot. that would put them in overwieght. and ya i like the characters and the story plot. ya...

I know this is an Adult Swim message board and that DBZ is all Toonami, but I'm tired of hearing that the Dragonball DVD's are still cut! The only things that are missing are the eyecatches and the japanese audio track for episode previews! They're only missing the japanese audio track for that because I heard that they never got/lost the the tape for that. As for the eyecatches, I've also heard that they were put back in so please stop bashing FUNi. They only get better with time, and for the past two years or so, they've been great!
