TRU 4-pack gets a name...

Read on one of the major toys boards that the new Batman Animated 4-pack is in the Toys R Us computers and goes by the name "Revenge of the Penguin". No details on content, but I guess we can assume at the very least a Batman and a Penguin. If it pans out, I wonder if they will use the old cloth coat or a new plastic one?

You can preorder one on amazon.com and they call it "Shadows Of Gothem" (Yes I know they're stupid, it's supposed to be "Gotham" but they were also selling the "Gothem Enforcement Team"

I would enjoy a new Penguin figure. I would also enjoy Talia and a new model of Ra's Al Ghul. Scarface has been on my want list of years. Maybe it will be the Penguin and his three girls?

I called the Hasbro Consumer phone number and asked what the "Shadows of Gotham" 4-pack consisted of. They said it was the one with Ras al Ghul. Talia is in it, too, and the only new figure. This makes it official. I neglected to ask about the Penguin one, but since it is in the TRU computers, I guess that confirms that, too.

Ha, ha, I should actually rephrase that I had someone call on my behalf. I don't know when it's coming out. I'll ask my patsy if they got that information. It was a rushed exchange, so I didn't have time to grill them further. If I find out anymore, I'll post what I find out.

If you could ask your "pasty" for me, what about the rumoured Metropolis/Gotham Gals pack with Supergirl, Batgirl, Poison Ivy and a new Livewire figure that was supposedly supposed to arrive in February? Nothing ever came of it and I was really hoping to get some closure on the issue. I don't have any of those figures and I really want them!! :mad:

That was a rumor started on a toy page. It wouldn't have sold. Also there is a policy of all sets have to either include Batman or Superman. To Hasbro female figures don't sell. As I've talked with friends it's not that female figures don't sell. It's just Hasbro makes crappy female figures.

Well, I really wish someone had de-bunked this rumour months ago! I was really looking forward to it!

At least we'll get a Talia figure. It'll probably resemble the TNBA style Talia, since her outfit is considerably less intricate. All they have to do is give her a Catwoman black body and a new head, and there they go!

If they do do that, though, we the consumers and fans are probably going to revolt!

It is another internet rumour. Apparently, Hasbro's next pack would contain a revised Ra's Al Ghul figure (probably with cape and dress suit) as well as a brand-new Talia figure. From what's just been said, though, it may be that Ra's will still look the same.

Hmmm...well, I've heard many-a similar rumors about this, but the most recent news I got is from Joker Inc. (who are usually very reliable). They said it would indeed be called "Shadows of Gotham." According to the report, it contains repainted versions of Batman, Robin, and R'as....BUT a new Talia sculpt....hopefully they'll paint R'as the RIGHT colors this time....$*&%#&'n Hasbro...

I agree, it sounds like very cool news! Guess I'll have to start making quick run ins to the local Toys R US over the next few weeks. It might be fun to get some new figures, hope Ras and Talia are done well. And why do they spell it Gothem?

It'd be cool if the "Shadows of Gotham" set had Ra's in cape and suit, Talia in black leather suit, Batman, and a member of the Society of Shadows (all black suit with white "Spidey" eyes) or an Ubu figure.... snoogins....

Well, I have no additional info. so let's hope that this all pans out. I'm a tad skeptical on the whole Penguin set, so we'll have to sit back and wait.

BTW, I was doing a search on eBay and ran across an unofficial "comprehensive" Batman collectibles price guide book. It has 6000 items from 1939-1997. I had no idea this existed, so I'll just throw this out for the fellow collectors who are interested.

I guess now according the Amazon.com the ras four pack is due out in april. And I also was under the impression that Ras is just a repaint of the weird battlesuit figure. But this time around I have an extra twoface ready for a head swap and repaint!!!

Anyways Im not so sure about the Penguin four pack. That would be really cool, maybe we'll get it a few months after we get ras and talia. Although Im torn between wanting them to do a TNBA penguin sculpt or saving room for someone else to be the exclusive and just tweaking the old one, god knows they cant have two new sculps in one four pack... Hasbro makes me nervous :( ...

About ripping off Two Face's head... I did that for not only Ra's Al Ghul, but Lex Luthor as well.

If you need even more Two Face's to play with there are supposed to be 3 new 2 packs coming out in the new few months. They are Robin and Batman. Tim Drake this time. Batman vs. Two Face, and Batman vs. The Riddler. I'd guess they will be Wal-Mart exclusives again. That I don't remember. I do remember that it was the first Riddler mold.

Update: My patsy has been in contact with someone in the loop. They confirmed the "Shadows of Gotham" 4-pack, as well as, the Penguin one. They stated that the Penguin will be an all new sculpt. Anyway, this informant is supposedly very reliable, so there it is. Still, anything can happen so we'll see if both will make it by the end of the year.

I've got BTAS Turbo Jet Batman, Batman Returns Robin, BTAS Joker and BTAS Riddler on my TV with the Batman Returns Penguin down below because he's so fat he kept falling down.
I almost bought the Shadowcast Batcave with Alfred at Toys 'R' Us once, but some friends talked me out of it

This is true. I my brother had elf Robin and I hated it so I got that one which looked much cooler.

Back to the topic: I hope The Penguin has a closed umbrella that is almost like a cane. I am sick of those stupid umbrella launcher gun things. :rolleyes:

Custumization is the key to such concerns, my friend. I have a closed umbrella for my penguin widdled out of a plastic missile from something or other and painted black.
