As a member of C.H., I get a constant stream of junk mail. The latest thing they sent me was an offer to subscribe to various TV video collections. Choices included the A-Team, I love Lucy, etc. I was about to pitch it when I noticed that one of the choices was The Animated Batman collection. They say that there are four episodes on each tape, and they will send out one a month at 20 bucks a piece. Does anyone know what these tapes are? What episodes are on them? Were they ever available in stores? Thanks.

Often, particularly for a series, CH has their own unique tapes/DVDs made, so you won't find those in stores. I think that they try to keep the contents of these things hush-hush so that you have to order to find out. But, maybe someone else here ordered them, has them and can help out.

I have the first fifteen of the tapes so far. When I get home I can get my episode list for you.

I subscribe to columbia house and I too have about 15 tapes so far, I have one sent every 2 weeks. I like these tapes because they are professionally done, on Sp mode, and are excellent picture and sound quality. They are a little pricy, about $25 bucks with shiping and handling. the only thing I know is that they basically have all the episodes except for about 2 or 3 of them.Does anybody here know if they also have the Superman the animated series on columbia house?

I have all 28 tapes. You get everything EXCEPT:

1. "If You're So Smart Why Aren't You Rich" - this is officially available on an old LP tape

2. "The Demon Reborn" - Superman episode

3. "World's Finest Part 3" - Another Supes - this is getting ready to get a DVD release and of course is already out on VHS

You get all of the remaining 111 shows(108 Batman ones and 3 Superman featuring Batman).

The quality is impeccable(except Heart of Steel 1 and 2, these are dirty, though the Cartoon Network versions are, too, so it's the source) and in SP speed with Hifi sound. Some have complained about receiving crapped up tapes with hissy sound or bad picture quality. I only encountered this once. I returned it and got a replacement which was defect free.

The tapes are going to cost you $25.86 each after shipping.

Yeah, I've got them all as well. I'd say about 1/3 of the tapes i received I had to return for one reason or another - skips and jumps, bad sounds, etc. And in addition to the missing episodes listed above, you get one of the episodes twice!

But, despite teh complaints, I'm happy with them, and they're the best version of the episodes that I've got for now.

So far I've gotten 2 bad tapes, infact just last week I got a bad one, the sound sounded like craking sound, but i called columbia house and they are going to replace it, and refund my money so they also have great customer service. this is probably the best way to get these episodes because if you try getting them on ebay or yahoo auctions you will definately get bad copy quality, I don't care what anybody says when a tape is recorded on EP mode (or SLP in some VCR'S) the quality is horrible.

I have gotten 22 tapes so far.
No problems!!

Plus I hear "Love is a Croc" is on two tapes for some stuid reason.
Someone at CH must have been asleep to let that pass.

Yep. That's the one. And of course, as stated above, you don't get part 3 of World's Finest for some really bizarre reason. Obviously, whoever put these tapes together wasn't being very careful.

Denny O'Neil provides the plot synopsis and indicates that WF is a 2-parter. Pretty funny.

I just got my first tape: The Trials of Harvey Dent. It has Pretty Poison, Two Face 1-2, and Trial. Are all the tapes themed like this? The quality is great, and I had forgotten how good the Two-Face two parter is. So mature, so tragic...It was great! Of course, I was stoned out of my gourd as I watched, but still! Can't wait for more. I'm going to ask Columbia House to do Superman. You never know.

Is there any option for you to just buy all of those tapes at once, or do you have to get them one at a time? I'm considering ordering something else from CH. It would sure save time and reduce shipping costs if you could do that.

I think you could order them all at once but it will cost you about $700 dollars to get all 28 tapes. :D
