What is your favorite Mammy-Two-Shoes cartoon?
-Thad:D
I chose "Push Button Kitty."
You know what, I've always wondered what Mammy looked like, I usually envision her looking exacly like Aunt Jemima, the modern one, not the man-in-drag one.

She's married to Uncle Ben too....

My favorite is SATURDAY EVENING PUSS. I love that cartoon.

Although I really like "Saturday Evening Puss" quite a bit, I think one of my favourite all-around Tom and Jerry's is "Push Button Kitty" and Mammy does have a significant part in that one.

I chose "Saturday Evening Puss" too. It's got great jazzy music, and a lot of the gags are hilarious, some of the highlights include Tom and the other cats turning into a totem pole and the end line, which goes like this:
Mammy: Doggone cats! Messin' up my whole evenin'! (In depressed voice)Well, might as well relax, and play myself a little soft, soothing.....
(Jerry starts to sleep pleasantly)
Mammy: .....hot MUSIC!

I missed Saturday Evening Puss last time it aired, so Idon't even remember it:(

My vote is for Saturday Evening Puss...not just for the voice, but also for the "mis-match" of the voice with the characters!
I am not sure if CN redubbed her voice (as was done on just about all the rest of the cartoons she appeared in) in that cartoon, but if it has been, CN should be blamed for destroying a piece of cartoon history.

My vote goes for "Mouse Cleaning" because the plot revolves around Mammy's threat to Tom if the house isn't clean by the time she gets back from the store, "we is gonna be minus one cat around here!". From there on, it's Tom vs Jerry in keeping (or should I say not keeping) Mammy's house clean. Plus, there's a great blackface gag at the end.
2nd on my list would be either "Push-Button Kitty" or "A Mouse in the House". It's been a while since I've seen "Saturday Evening Puss" in its original form, so I can't really vore for it at this time.
Let's just face facts - Mammy Rules!! My favorite T & J cartoons are the ones with Mammy. I just find it a shame that today's audiences can't watch these cartoons like I got to when I was younger and have to be subjected to a 'modern' Mammy voice.

HANDS DOWN...my vote goes to "MOUSE CLEANING" as the best Mammy Two Shoes/ Tom & Jerry cartoon. The ending where Tom is in Blackface and he talks like Stepin Fechit, and when Mammy asks him(not knowing it's Tom)if he seen Tom. Brillant!!!!!!

I'm going to break the cycle here and say that "Old Rockin' Chair Tom" is the best. I can't remember the last time I saw that, and would love to again. That cat (as mammy called him, "LIGHTNIN'!") swallowing an iron was classic! And I don't know why they chose to redub the voice either. As if that's not bad enough, I seem to have read that all of the cartoons were redubbed, but I've yet to see many play on CN except maybe, what, 3? The only one they leave alone, perhaps for historical significance, is "Puss Gets the Boot", and all 3 characters aren't really formative yet. I personally try to boycott CN's T&J show unless there's a possibility for rare stuff, because what they play regularly, frankly, sucks.
Maybe I'm biased, but WB's cartoons didn't have too many bad episodes. Tom and Jerry did have a few, (I'm sorry, I hate the cutesy animal pals Jerry met in the 1950's.) and that's all CN plays. They also play lots of censored greats, and lots of the Chuck Jones cartoons which, while good, aren't the T&J I love. Not the Tom and Jerry I remember from the early 90's, boy, that was some great stuff they played on a local syndication package. I loved that show. It never occurred to me that Mammy Two-shoes was racist, Un-PC, or that she had a name, she was just the authority figure to Tom who would not hesitate to beat the crap out of him if he did something bad. And it's not necessarily Mammy herself that made them funny, it's just that T&J is, number one, not the same without her, and, number two, Tom and Jerry themselves had better performances in those cartoons. We miss a lot of great cat-vs.-mouse action when we don't see those cartoons. And I always thought it clever that we never saw the upper half of her, it was always just a pair of legs, arms, a broom, and a housecleaning apron. In this case, I think that the censors really are looking for something that isn't there. I just fail to see anything wrong with that character.

"Part Time Pal" I love the part where Mammy jumps straight from the second floor down to the living room, leaving it an utter shambles.
I also like the "shakedown" scene in "Lonesome Mouse", where Jerry grabs the switchblade that fell out of Mammy's dress and uses it to chop a leg off the stool Mammy's standing on.

Puss gets the boot.
Although my FAV Mammy two-shoes cartoon is "Fraidy cat" I couldn't vote for that so "Puss gets the boot" would be a close second.

I picked "Push-Button Kitty" that's probably the funniest Mammy-Two Shoes cartoon ever!

In a way, I agree with you. The stuff CN plays is nothing more than "routine". But here's something interesting to keep in mind. On the 6-14 evening Tom & Jerry show, they played "The Yankee Doodle Mouse" and "Safety Second" back-to-back. They edited Tom becoming a blackface sunflower after a firecracker explosion in "The Yankee Doodle Mouse", but the end of "Safety Second", which features Jerry looking like a blackface sunflower after a firecracker explosion, was not, although TNT had edited it a few years earlier (which made no sense).
Oh, and as far a Mammy goes, redubbing her voice is nothing more than a disgrace. Look at the censored MGM Cartoon link if you haven't already, and it will explain some of the edits

I think most of the post-60’s WB cartoons are bad. I also think that T&J didn’t really get bad until the mid-50’s Cinemascope cartoons where they used limited animation, toned down the violence, and relied too much on that darn duck. Those were pretty bad, but the later Gene Deitch and Chuck Jones T&J’s are beyond awful.
