As the thread asks, I'm TRYING to use my ATI WONDER VE. It's either the machine won't work, or maybe it's my godfather (who's a whiz at computers) doesn't know what he's doing, trying to hook it up.

I've been using a Dazzle DVCII for about a year
now. I go directly to MPEG2 either from on-the-air, video tape or DVD player. I then save
the files to standard CDR discs. I can get 3
or 4 cartoons to a disc. They play back on Windows Media Player or software DVD players.

The Dazzle also alows you to record in DVD format
so that you can play back in a standard DVD desktop player.

The cartoons play back in full-screen DVD quality.

Fred.

OK -
Assuming:

1. Card is in the correct slot
2. Its driver and application software were installed in thier default directories
3. You have correctly identified the input and output jacks, and are using them properly.
4. you are running win-something

go to start/settings/control panel/system/device manager

are there any large yellow blobs beside anything?
is the card listed? Where?

Was this a PNP device? if so, did it attempt to self-install?

Worst-case: your motherboard hates your video card (it happens)

I use the Dazzle Hollywood DV bridge (firewire device) on a Mac G4 733MHz.

It actually does a pretty good job at capturing. In my experience the colors pretty much match the source material.

From what I understand it is cross platform.
