Mirage is going all-out for the Turtles' 25th anniversary next year.

This post (http://the-5th-turtle.blogspot.com/2008/01/news-briefs.html)from Steve Murphy's blog reveals some interesting developments:

December 2008
"Mirage Universe" (working title) TPB to be released

May 2009
"very special" expanded reprint of TMNT #1

June 2009
new printing of first TMNT v.1 trade

July 2009
TPB of select "pre-Forever War" TMNT Adventures

August 2009
The Forever War to begin publication as 5 individual monthly issues under the TMNT Adventures comics title

I'm sure hanshotfirst will be delighted that the original Mirage comic collections are being republished.

More info on the history of the Forever War storyline can be found in other posts of the blog.

Excellent.
I've always been a fan of TMNT
I hope for the best to come out of the 25th anniversary

I'm really looking forward to next year's 25th Anniversary for the TMNT and I'm really excited to get to read the Forever War.

Looks like they have tentative dates for the next volumes of 1987 TMNT. 7 in December and 8 in April. I'm really hoping they release the rest of the series in 2009 though. It would be an appropriate time to do so being the 25th anniversary. Sounds like they may be making single volumes of "best of" compilations for the 25th anniversary. I gotta say, even with all the episodes (thus far) on hand, I'd probably be willing to buy a "best of" if it really had great episodes on it. It's annoying to shuffle through so many lame episodes to get to the more entertaining ones. But then agian a best of for TMNT is pretty much the first 5 episodes and maybe a few others.

I really liked the 4 styles image for TMNT 4kids had at the licensing show. Mirage Raphel, 1987 Donatello, 2003 Leonardo and 2007 Movie Michelangelo.

looking forward to Back to the Sewers & the film sequel. I haven't got the time or resources to get into the comics.

You know, I REALLY hope they use these "Best Of" volumes as an excuse to FINALLY release the episodes that were skipped, but I severely doubt it.

But awesome that we have news on the season sets. Too bad they're not releasing Red Sky all at once, though.

I still hold out hope that 'Turtles & The Time Machine' and 'Planet of the Turteloids' will be released as bonus episodes with the European tour eps should those ever be released.

I could see them put out an Easter themed DVD single but not including them in the season releases would be lame.

I have a feeling any compilation DVDs will be rehashes of the VHS releases from a few years back, like grouping together four or five space themed eps (Beyond the Donatello Nebula, Unidentified Flying Leonardo, Planet of the Turtleoids, Return of the Turtleoid, Camer Bugged), or the Rat King centered episodes.

Or four indvidual releases, each one focusing on a certain turtle, using the focus episodes from the CBS seasons.
