I captured two images of "recreated" Blue Ribbon openings from The Night Watchman.

The two pictures are oddblueribbontitle.jpg and oddnighwatchman.jpg
Both are from Sunday evening's Chuck Jones tribute, so I digitally removed the TV-G icons. Enjoy!

Thanks, Patrick! I will dig up my copy of "The Night Watchman" and make a side-by-side comparison.
Wasn't there a couple other "dubbed versions" that have re-created Blue Ribbon titles? I think "Daffy Duck and Egghead" was the other?

Yep, Daffy Duck and Egghead was the other one. It's different from the Night Watchman in that they only recreated ONE of the cards (I think the Merrie Melodie card), the card with the title is "original."

Yeah, the dubbed version of "Daffy Duck and Egghead" has the newer Merrie Melodies titles, and after the MM logo, it jump cuts to the "DD&E" title.

Here we go. For your viewing pleasure... a comparison between the original Blue Ribbon reissue titles and the recent 1995 "dubbed version" recreation reissue titles.

Why did they redo the card if there was a good copy available?
It seems they redid the card with TV cutoff in mind, makes for a weird composition, I wonder why they left off "A Warner Bros. Cartoon" too. I know WB didn't own the film at the time, but would they have even objected to them including it in there?

Patrick, could you make a scan of the WB title card that was used before the recreated Blue Ribbon card on "The Night Watchman"? It doesn't matter if it has a TV-G on it or not. Thanks!!

I saw a colorized version of the early Merrie Melody One More Time. I definitely prefer the B&W version.
