I got to see it tonight. I thought it was great!:D

1. I thought it was hilarious that "mindreading" Elton was able to finish everybody's sentences!:p :D I also liked how Cathy pretended not to listen.:p

2. I thought the battle against that robot in the classroom while trying to save Elton was fantastic! They may be children, but they sure know how to fight! I loved how Cathy did her best to distract the other students from going inside.:D :D :D

3. I felt so sorry for Sam when Elton revealed that she was afraid of spiders!:(

4. I thought the big battle at the factory against those robots was terrific, especially when Cathy went berserk and Danny had to sacrifice his teddy bear to stop them!:D I'm also glad Sam helped them escape before the place went boom!

5. I don't blame Cathy for getting angry when Elton revealed that he & she once kissed!:p

I really liked this series! I thought this was a great first ep! 4 stars!:D

It's great! A Marathon second to only Martin Mystery.

However, the scene transitions, in the first episode at least, are terrible. They would be annoying if they were like the rest of Marathon's Jetix shows, but they wouldn't be as bad as quickly fading to black and quickly fading back.

Episode 2 "Popular Kids"

Here are my thoughts:

1. WHOA! Who knew that grandma was really an alien?! :ack: I'm glad Chris' younger brother, Johnny, was able to help capture it.:) Although, he seemed to hog all the glory, IMO.:p

2. It seemed the new girl, Jenny, had no trouble making new friends, by giving them invites to an exclusive dance party!

3. Cathy going down alone into that dark hallway to ask Jenny for an invite looked very creepy!

4. Somehow, I knew that jenny had to be an alien! That battle against her in the cafeteria was very intense! :ack: I thought Cathy's "escape" cheer was kinda cute.:anime:

5. Too bad Danny & sam couldn't convince everybody, including Cathy, not to go into the gym to the dance. They knew very well something awful was gonna happen!:ack:

6. Well, we learned Jenny's reason for the dance: to kidnap all the students and exchange them for her captured grandma! Jenny's true alien form was creepy!!!:ack: :ack: :ack:

7. I thought it was very cruel of alien Jenny when she not only double-crossed them, but also told Cathy to her face that she was unpopular and a lousy dancer!:crying: I'm very glad Cathy gave that creep-a-zette a pounding! I thought she was a fantastic dancer!:D

This was a fantastic ep! I loved Cathy's dancing and I thought Chris' younger brother would make a great ally! I give it 5 stars!:D :D :D

I'm really liking this series so far!:) ;) :anime: :D

I notice this is a mix of Canadian voice actors, including the first voice of Arthur Read - Michael Yarmush.

Episode 3 "Wrong Number"

Here are my thoughts:

1. Some plot: Chris takes Mr. Smith's lntergalactic communication device without permission to use as a cellphone, and gets it mixed up with Marc's cellphone! To make matters worse, Marc's rude comments to an alien ambassador starts an all-out war with earth!   What was Chris thinking?!:(

2. I felt Cathy could use a lesson in "cellphone gossip." I also felt she was a bit annoying using her wrist v-phone to chat with Sam.:( I was surpised when her idle chatter helped calm down those warring aliens. Kinda lame.

3 Anybody else think the teacher sounded a lot like Ben Stein?

What a disappointing ep! 2 stars.:(

I really hope the next ep will be better.

Well considering I missed Monday's episode, I did catch the two latest episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm going to add to Viper's comments here:

Episode 2 "Popular Kids"

Well for Popular Kids, I have to say that I'm impressed with this episode, the whole idea of one of the more popular kids (Jenny) was the fact that she was really in disguise, an evil octivore. The upside of this was seeing that Cathy had a lot of guts to stand up to Jenny for Jenny's coments about her, and her dancing style. This episode was really a no brainer here. You get a girl ticked by making comments like that? Expect to have your octivore butt handed to you in a hurry.

As for John, Chris' younger brother, is he a glory hog or what? I mean if they make this kid an MBC Member, it would actually add some spice to the show, but I also fear it would also hurt it as well, on the grounds of him being a glory hog. In short Chris' brother John should play a role here, but not to the point where he grabs all the glory for the sake of the MBC Team.

After this episode the show does have some meritable promise. But it's the next episode that has some problems.

I frankly don't know what Chris' motivation was to get Mr. Smith's (who's Cathy's grandpa FYI) intergalactic communicator complete switched with Mark's Cell phone. Granted Marc is a bit of a shrewd and stuck up kid, but having him have a cell phone just to make rude remarks? Well thanks to Chris' bumbling, an intergalactic war almost starts...

Then there's Cathy. She can be cute at times and really tough others, but in this episode with all that cell phone gossip, one word comes to mind: Annoying. What really got on my own nerves was the fact that once Cathy got her chatty motor mouth running on any cell phone (or V-communicator for that matter), Cathy's character can go from being a delight, to that of being as annoying as a gnat buzzing in someone's ear.

Then there's the warring factions..Hare type aliens vs turtle aliens..(Gee the proverbial tortise and the Hare routine..) How boring..Add to the fact that the only lively parts were Mr. Smith having a good time at the party? Other than that, frankly having a war might have been more fun than any party.

Finally back to Mark. This kid needs not only to have his cell phone taken away from him, but also he should be grounded.. for life. Frankly next to Cathy, Mark can be the second most annoying character hands down. I think when you look at the four main characters, the most likeable one is perhaps Sam. She seems to be the level-headed one in the bunch, while Chris can be a bit more strange when it comes to pulling stupid stunts like what he did.

Also I think the final insult for this episode was seeing the Hare alien ambassador mistaking popcorn with "Poopcorn". Gee Disney/Jetix, you would think to keep away from the "Toilet humor..

All in all these two episodes were like Night and Day. On the one hand you had in Popular Kids a good plot, a good story idea, and above all, a good reason for fighting aliens. But in "Wrong Number", well this story fell flatter than most pancakes on a good day. The plot was lamer than a sick horse, two characters (Mark and Cathy) were annoying as heck, and in the end, Mark's rude remarks and Chirs' bumbling and ignorant attitude started an interstellar war.. Luckily for chattiness Cathy saves the day with Phone Gossip..but still unlike Popular Kids, where Cathy was very versatile, in this episode Wrong number, she was just annoying.

Final Summation: I have to say that Monster Buster Club has potential. If done right (like In Popular Kids), the show can be enjoyable, but when done wrong (Wrong Number) it can be lamer than Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! and W.i.t.c.h.'s worst episodes combined. The characters can be likeable, (Sam is probably my choice for best character), but until they get some good plots up, I'll leave this one in the "Maybe" category. It's not great, but unless the plots get better, MBC will be more of the Jetix Mediocrity club than anything. At least Mr. Smith can be fun to watch..

Overall grade: C+. Not that they are trying, but still, MBC Could have a lot of potential here, given the fact that it's just starting out. But if more bad writing comes into play, MBC Could end up killing itself, even by accident.
but let's see what episode 4 holds for us today...After all with MBC, it's a "Case by Case" situation, and who knows Maybe this episode might be a good one, It might be bad.. but either way I'll leave this on the "Maybe shelf" until I can get to see more eps.

MBC isn't listed as being available on the Disney XD player site. But, the show is also being added to weekend mornings at 8 am (as of NEXT weekend -- June 21/22) and they'll start the cycle from the beginning.

The whole list of airdates -- well as much as I've been able to input -- is here:

Episode Number 4: Snack Time.

here's my thughts on this episode..

1. Poor Sam, I think for all of her intelligence she has, you would think that handling a babysitter job and doing a class bake sale would be the least of her worries.. that is until we reach Number 2.

2. Which is of course Tiny Tina..(Isn't she just adorable?) yeah and I bet Sam didn't know she was an Alien baby to boot. (Add to that a snack that is an alien version of Sugar, and you got yourself one cranky Alien baby..

3. Mark is at his old antics again. Deciding to show the world that he's number 1 even if he has to get gourmet chefs to do all of his baking..and from the looks of it, he's making a small mint.

4. This is why you should avoid babies with the name "Tina" sure she's cute but give her that alien sugar and watch out! She's like a hungry little gremlin on the loose! (Eating Trees, tires, entire cars.. this kid once she has the alien sugar rush, well she'll eat anything that does or doesn't move.. (Whoops there goes the microwave!)

5. Oh great.. John's back in the mix, and once again, he's hogging the glory.. but that soon changes when the MBC crew have to play "Keep the snackage away from Tiny cute loveable Tina...

6. Oh did I mention she'll eat tables? And it's about this time that Mark freaks..and runs screaming for the exit! Whoops.. Tina's not only hungry but she's Telekinetic too! (Holy cow, I should have seen THAT coming (Beware of girls name Tina.. they're Telekinetic!)

7.But thanks to Sam and her inane ability to take one of John's devices and make the kid eat a dull donut, finally gets Tina to take a nap.. Whoops she burped up the Microwave.

All in all this one was fun. Not as good as Popular Kids, but close.. I give this one 4 stars out of 5.. Could have been better if Tina started to eat everything in sight.. including houses..(Oh wait, she ate half of Sam's bedroom wall..(That kid has some appitite)

Final thoughts: Sure John's not in the MBC, but sometimes this kid comes up with the most whack inventions that really work. Of course putting it to good use? that's another story.

Well here's my review for tonight's episode of Monster Buster Club:

#5- The Trouble with Troublemaking.

1. Man Cathy sure in the heck has one heck of a temper when her teacher says there are no such things as aliens. And her outburst really got her detention..

2. Rhapzodian puzzle sticks. I think an earth equivalent would be the Rubik Cube. but with a few interesting twists (Part chinese puzzle, part rubik cube, part restraining device.

3. Great the Detention Teacher is an Alien (more on that latter)

4. For a Rhapzodian Cathy has some rather quick moves.

5. Great instead of Chris getting Detention for his "Bad Boy Act", Sam is the one who gets it for putting the lunch lady in a full body Nelson. 30 days worth.

6. Now we find out what that detention teacher alien wants. He's a slave trader and Cathy is on his "Slave list".

6. Great action sequences when we get out of the school. And to think a Rhapzodian puzzle stick has another function. To take down an alien..(Who knew?)

7. Seems that the teacher gets all interested in that Rhapzodian puzzle stick.. too bad he's not as clever as either Cathy or Danny was.

Final Summation for this series: While the show does deal with Alien Busting and school issues, sometimes the plots are good, sometimes they're not. Some are funny. Some are not. But I would say that MBC gets a passable grade with a B-.. It's definitely not like Marathon's other shows, (Totally Spies!, Martin Mystery, and Galaxy High) but then it's not spectacularly wowful. In short I'll try a few more new shows when they come on, but for the first five the score breaks down as follows.

Characters: B All the Characters are likeable, but Danny's Brother John is a glory hog (I mistook John for being Chris' brother. Best Character is in fact Sam, (Cathy runs a close second with her fun loving spirit, but Sam is the levelheaded one and is a lot more likeable than the rest of the characters. Worst Character is of course Mark. (He's the town snob, and frankly Mark needs a few good shakeups).

Plots: C- While the idea is sound, some of the plots are weak. Like I said it's hit or miss. Some of these episodes do have a it of humor in them, but others just tend to fall flat. Like I said, Hit or miss here.

Story: N/A There's really no real story or timeline here, so this is just a bunch of random events. But still some of the things that do happen, happen and make you chuckle a little. But as for a tangent story arc? None whatsoever.

Fun Factor: C Just another average Jetix show. It lacks some of the fun of Totally Spies! and/or Martin Mystery, plus even though the character design is on par with say Get Ed, it lacks a bit of fun. Action-wise it's a great thrill ride, but still there are points in it where it is fun. (Sam putting the lunchlady in a full Nelson was the high point today). But other than that, Average and can be hit or miss here..

So in summing it up, It's a nice show, and the writiing is hit and miss but still for what Jetix is offering at least it's fresh and can be funny at times. Other than that, not much more to say.

Sorry, if I'm a little late. Here are my thoughts on the last 2 eps of this week:

Episode 4 "Snack Time"

1. Sam sure gave a new meaning to the word "hyper" while preparing for the school bake sale.At least, she calmed down a bit when she had to help Cathy babysit Tina.:)

2. Marc can be so nasty, hiring those "high-class" chefs just to upstage Sam & her friends.:(

3. I felt sorry for Sam constantly going back and forth from school to the house. It would make anybody stressed out. Unfortunately, it made her forget not to give hungry Tina those special cookies which gave her a "super hunger effect!" :ack: I almost screamed in fright when she first swallowed an entire car, and then started heading for the school!

4. I was amzed that Tina could still...even in mid-air!!!

5. WOW! Johnny's "bad food making" machine helped make Tina normal again!:D Talk about ruining one's appetite!:p

Great ep! Even though the "battle of the bake sales" between Danny/Chris & Marc was a tad silly, I still give it 4 stars.:)

Episode 5 "The Trouble with Troublemaking"

1. Well, thanks to her big mouth, Cathy winds up in detention...with a spider-like alien teacher! So, to help her, Danny & Chris attempt to get detention themselves.

2. I will admit, I kinda liked Chris' "cool/bad boy" look.

3. I found it interesting how Cathy used telepathy to distract the principal so she & Sam could escape the office.:)

4. Poor Sam, winding up with detention for thinking the lunch lady was the alien in disguise.:(

5. WHOA! The alien's plan was to secapture Cathy and sell her on the alien black market!

6. The battle against the alien detention teacher may have been a bit messy, but still exciting!:)

7. Too bad the regular teacher couldn't solve the alien puzzle stick!:p

Good ep. 3 stars.:)

Final thoughts: I think this is a pretty good show, IMO.:) It's got good action, some nice comedy moments, and the way they capture aliens reminds of Ghostbusters.:D I just wish Cathy could be a little less annoying.:p

TucsonCoyote, I really hope my reviews were satisfactory.

Oh, that last Marathon show was Team Galaxy, BTW.;) :anime:
