Daria - NO. Ick. Daria. :shivers:

Johnny Bravo - ... what are you smoking?

Family Guy - Only one you are right on.

Big O - Only if edited right. And who hasn't seen this 1,000 times?

Trigun - maybe...hopefully it won't be butchered if it came.

Bubblegum Crisis - eh. I guess.

Kenshin - Why would you want to ruin it?

Clerks: TAS - What is it with people and bringing back old stuff. I mean it is great and all but why would you want something old over something new?

NO JOHNNY BRAVO ON AS!!! Ever! I would stop supporting the line up if ANY Cartoon Cartoon showed up on the line up.

Bob and Margaret would also be good for the line up, but I wonder if Cartoon Network would be willing to show the animated nudity the same way Comedy Central did. Hey, if they did, those pre show warnings would actually mean something!

I for one would like to see The Critic be revived by CN. It wouldn't take much to purchase the rights from Comedy Central. Hell, if John Lovitz is willing to produce the internet cartoon, he'd probably be very willing to make new television episodes. Only problem would be getting the rest of the voice actors back. It would fit well w/ ASC.

Family Guy would also fit very well into the ASC schedule.

I'd also say The Tick and possibly even Earthworm Jim, but both were Saturday morn'n cartoons. Still, some of the humor used in The Tick was far beyond it's intended audience. Both very appealing shows.

Stealth Pilot( i haven't seen this, but everyone else is talking about this)
Incase you didnt know thats not the name of the show. The name of the show is Welcome To Eltingville (Or The Eltingville Club.. wichever it is.) It was just a "Stealth" pilot of it on last night (This morning).

I haven't. Still need to tape the first 4 episodes, so I hope they bring it back eventually or *god forbid* I might actually have to buy the first DVD :p

I'd love to see it on AS and think it fits much better than Outlaw Star/Tenchi. I just hope they'd have the guts to let the word 'Merry Christmas' get through this time

Good. You should be. But I'm 95% confident it will never air on American TV. At least, not in this decade. Too violent, too controversial, too much for even adult swim censors to handle. The Twin Towers exploding on Cowboy Funk is Teletubbies compared to this show. I actually think even Berserk has a better chance simply because of the subject matter...

This is how it could go:

ASC:
The Critic
Daria
Love Hina
Legend of Black Heaven (could go on action swim too)
Maison Ikkoku
Urusei Yatsura
Peanuts (There were enough specials made to fill a good 15-20 weeks of episodes)

ASA:
Master Keaton
Invasion America uncut (I hated this show, but if you wanna get some more mileage out of it...)
Gatekeepers
Lupin TV series
Batman TAS

First of all this is the same old topic we've been through before.
Second nothing owned by Nick, MTV or any other Viacom company (or Disney) will ever be on a Time Warner channel so I will not mention anything from them no matter how much I like it.

That said I still want to see

Malcolm The Cockaroach, Spicy City or something new from Ralph Bakshi
Ripping Friends, Ranger Smith, Weekend Pussy Hunt, or something new from John K.
Cartoon Planet
Something new from Savage Steve Holland (remember the cute and fuzzy bunnies from One Crazy Summer? That's this guy.)

P.S. Peanuts? I hope that was sarcasm.

Yes, Now and Then, Here and There is an amazing show, one of the most compelling that I have ever seen, the release date for volume 2 cant come soon enough...my Avatar is even based on it :)

I'm 95% confident it will never air on American TV. At least, not in this decade. Too violent, too controversial, too much for even adult swim censors to handle. I can understand why WS wouldnt want to take a chance with NTHT because of the themes of intense child brutality and the implied rape of Sara. Anyway, this goes out to any fan of storytelling, not just anime in general, go out and buy this series.

Why not? I did not make a list of "what I like," I made a list of shows that would be appropriate for the block. Hence my mentioning of Invasion America (a show I did not like), and Peanuts (which varies depending on the episode).

Maybe you don't think Peanuts is "adult" enough? There's some subversive humour in there, and even The Simpsons has borrowed some of its gags and pacing sometimes.

Weekend Pussy Hunt? I don't know what that is, but the title sure sounds like it's a show that would be ideal for "Adult Swim!"

I think that Peanuts would ultimately get the same backlash that Rocky and Bullwinkle get. Sure, there are plenty of adults out there who would get the jokes more than the kids, but in the end, it's still percieved as a KID'S SHOW. We know it isn't for just kids, but I think that if Adult Swim is going to continue to be seen as a line up for adults, it should stick to programming that is seen as being aimed for adults.

WPH was an online flash animation show by John K. It used to be on Icebox.com when that site was free. Icebox went under and eventually resurfaced as a pay site, but John K. didn't want to bring the show back if fans had to pay for it. He's now looking for someplace he can put it up for free. I think it would be great if this was followed up by a "full " animated series on AS.

Yeah, eMail all your TV outlets and let them know you like Spumco 'toons. They have all kinds of things on board they could do, and things like WPH are coming back to realcartoons.com(?), I think it was. Once a month, I like to sit down and make my thanks rounds.

As for ABC, ABCfamily shows a show on Saturdays called daMob, and where those Disney losers came up with this to put into their marketing machine I'll never know, because I seem to be oddly taken with it.

Peanuts?

Love Hina, yes, only because people want new things. There's a new series of it coming real fast over there, too. Something special could happen with LH, just in its' speedy, precise production technique. We could see a series of Love Hina (or Vandread, or some future property) at the same time as over there, lol, it'd just take changing attitudes. Animation Runner K-(I can't remember the title, if you know what I'm speaking of, that should be enough to remind you) was released in Japan complete with English subtitles already there! The past year an a half, they use the 3DCGI technology to create, trditional style anime animation in-betweens. VVVRRRROOOOOM, many ideas have already cooked off out of that:), it's a good era, IMO.......

Berserk? On TV? The entire nation would be afraid to sleep after meeting Zodd! I have to remain with the otaku on Berserk! I do not want to see it in English, maybe I've seen it enough times it rolls in Jap, I don't usually skip a dub, but I'd skip that.......

I think Daria, Family Guy, and especially Dr. Katz are terrific ideas for adult swim. I'm not down with Johny Bravo, though, it's on cartoon network enough already, right?

I just wish Comedy Central would bring their animated line up back. Of course, it would clash against Adult Swim, but perhaps they would change the night of it to accomodate AS viewers? Cuz I really don't think we will ever see shows like the Critic, Bob and Margaret, Dr Katz, the Tick, Duckman, and a few others on AS. Ever. I mean, aren't there rights issues here that would prevent AS from getting them? I really don't know, but I would imagine so.

I think AOLTW owns part of Comedy Central.

Here's an FAQ from CC's site:
Who owns Comedy Central?
Comedy Central is a joint venture of Time Warner Entertainment Company and Viacom International.

I think the joint ownership came about because the two original comedy channels (I think they were 'The Comedy Channel' & 'Ha!' - but it's been a long time so I could be wrong) merged to make CC...

Bob and Margaret sucked.

Um...you should be bludgeoned by the staff of a thousand censors for that. lol

Personally, Bob and Margaret would be a joy to see on ASC, along with the Critic, Dilbert, Family Guy, and RANMA (sorry. But I don't think the nudity it THAT bad in the series. Of course, if they showed the lovely Public Bath-house episode uncut, I would just be shivering on the ground in horror). For ASA, perfect animes for it would be Trigun, Something Space Travellers (don't know actual name. It's funny and has action. Probably will never air due to some EXTREME nudity), Jubei-Chan, Gate Keepers, and Slayers. All of those ruled.

If I ever see Daria on ASC, I will literally either:

1) Destroy my television set.
2) Go insane.
3) E-mail bomb the idiot who suggested that over at Williams Street (how's 50 e-mails of "YOU IDIOT FOR LETTING THAT CRAP ON ASC" sound? lol)

K. Done with my voice. :)
