This is the talkback thread for "Dilbert" Becomes Daily Animated Strip On-Line (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=24155).
That's good to hear. I liked the animated series back in the day and I always enjoyed the strips whenever I read them.

I watched a few of these on YouTube, and personally, I don't really like this new series. Maybe I'm just spoiled on the TV cartoon, but I found that to be a lot better. The new voice cast sounds a lot nerdier compared to the more laid-back adult voices in the original TV series, and the animation is a lot more static here (blame its Flashiness).

Yeah, I just started watching the TV show again after finding the complete series set as part of a 2-for-30 deal at HMV, so these things can't really compare. I have the feeling that anybody who's already seen the TV show will just see these as a severely watered-down version.
Somebody feel free to prove me wrong here...

I've seen a few of these, mainly the ones starring my favorite character, Dogbert, and they are pretty funny, despite the flash animation. The main thing I have get used to is the voices. I guess I've been spoiled by the UPN series, but those voices have since become the main way I pictured the characters speaking. To me, Chris Elliot was Dogbert.

I don't much care for the writing in this series of shorts. I think the biggest problem is, the writing is catering to a daily newspaper comic strip crowd, but with an animated short, things should really go a little further than that. I'd take longer, weekly shorts over daily material that should be confined to a four-panel newspaper strip.
The animation is fine with me, though. It's low-budget and quick, which is what the release schedule calls for. Everyone is on-model. My only beef is that Dilbert's mouth is sometimes visible when it's closed, something the UPN cartoon avoided as much as possible.
