The www.comingsoon.net put this up:

Writer Steve Niles says that the "Spawn" sequel is showing some movement. Niles is working with Spawn creator Todd McFarlane on the script for "Spawn 2," which is set up at Columbia Pictures.

"The script has gone through several polishes and we're working closely with [producer] Don Murphy to make it something special," he says.

"I think the biggest surprise will be how different this film will be from the first," adds Niles. "I think Spawn 2 will be much more accessible to all types of movie fans because it will cross the lines between the superhero, horror and crime genres."

Any comments on this? I am interested to see another Spawn movie handled more maturely, I suppose you could say. Comments?

I want to see a Spawn animated movie, but oh well.

(P.S. Anyone know if Spawn:TAS is on Video/DVD.)

All three seasons of Spawn TAS are out on DVD - in both unrated and pg-13 form. The Spawn animated movie could be next after Spawn 2.

I'm all set for a more mature Spawn movie. I liked the first one but think the story so far for the second sounds awesome, who knows maybe McFarlane took a page from Marvel and learned how to make a good movie.

How times have changed.....I remember when the words "Marvel" and "good movie" would never be used in a sentence that didn't include "will never make a" :)

Different, huh? Maybe this means I'll actually like it. I hope "more crime" means more Sam and Twitch. A quick cameo just doesn't do them justice.

I'm not really a Spawn fan per se, but I dabble. I could go for another Spawn movie, I guess. Although I heard a few types of comic fans didn't exactly like how it was done, but judging from the changes I'm sure this one will be cool.

ALWAYS remember movie makers, the more people who can relate to or enjoy a movie the better!

I really like your avatar, jjwspider!

I'm not really a big Spawn fan, either. I like the concept, but found the comic slow movie, repetitive, and monotonous. I liked the animated seruies, though. It was just something different, yet familair, and entertaining. I have all three DVDs and they are great. The movie wasn't all that great, but it's good brainless popcorn fare. Plus, the DVD was ultra cheap and has a really, really, really good commentary. I'm all for a Spawn movie like the animated series...

Hey thanks Jim!

Well from everything that I've heard McFarlane would love to finish up all of the loose plot threads from Season 3. There was a rumor that he was shopping around the Spawn series to another network that would let him continue the series but I don't think anything ever came out of that, altho he may still try to do a Spawn animated movie after Spawn 2 - depends on a lot of things tho.

For a new season, there is Adult Swim. :D

But seriously, how bad is the unrated?

The unrated is pretty rough - lots of cussing, drugs and nudity/situations...

I couldn't see a station that wasn't a pay-premium channel doing a series becuz of the backlash it would get - even AS would probably get slammed to an insane degree......

Not that I'd be against it if be some possible reason they could pick it up....

Unrated is pretty tense, steps way above the currewnt AS far. I doubt we'll ever see it on Cartoon Network. It's pretty rough, but still really enjoyable. The serie sisn't perfect, but there are nice sequence and some nice animation, especially in the 3rd season.

Well, I was talking about PG-13 on AS. Does Suncoast carry the DVDs?

The PG-13 would work, although that version is very inferior than the MA version. I think those could fit. Also, the PG-13 version is only available for the first two seasons, there is no edited third season.

I never saw the edited versions, as I watched the series as it came out on HBO. Man, I'll tell ya, waiting a year for only 6 new episodes was not fun.

I just hope the new movie doesn't turn out to be as much of a dissappointment as the first one. I love Martin Sheen, but the whole Jessica Priest thing, and the little kid? It really hurt my head... :o
